Come over - A Perfectly Pompous TR (Updated: Boarding pass from the pool please!)

Okay, okay, okay. My Lord they start off so sweet and nice and suddenly get demanding.

How about some flowers to calm you all down. ;) Sort of like those red red poppies in the Wizard of Oz. S-L-E-E-P-Y.....

Back track: my parent's arrival at the glorious BCV.

100_5313.jpg

I'm in a foul mood to go back to these two days. My picture card drama - I had the best picture of SAB. Gone. Poof. Many gone. Poof.

Okay - hmmm.

My parents.

It wasn't a great start to their stay.

My father - God love him - decided he must have the BCV address in his GPS. MUST. :sad2: Had no interest in using the huge signs. And well I guess the GPS wasn't having a magical day and they got lost. And my mom - whose normal personality is quite calm - lost it. She has some medical issues that are causing this - in fact, it was emotionally exhausting at times. But life is life. And I'm very lucky to have had them this long in my life.

So they entered the BCV lobby filled with stress.

But we took them around the resort and things got better. They had been to the area before but never really "saw" it.

It truly is beautiful.

We were obsessed with these baby ducks. :lovestruc

We ate lunch from the Marketplace and ate in that wonderful courtyard room across the hall - a true treasure. Disney did it right on with BCV and BWV.

And here's a hint for all you wating for your rooms. The texting isn't always reliable. This is the second time it hasn't worked. I like the system but we haven't lucked out.

They had Jean's cell put in at check-in but were texting our home number. popcorn::

So she just checked at one point and it was ready.

Yes!

You know the room with the ugly view.

Up next: Mermaids, SAB and I hate texting!!!!!!!!!!

Why do I feel like a pedestrian standing at a crosswalk minding my own business and two people come up and slap me upside the head (think NCIS).

Ummm. Cause that's what happened.

Kid-at-heart: Do I need to remind your daughter that you promised to bring 20 or so friends to Disney for her birthday?

Kid-at heart, should we remind him that he is outnumbered on this trip report? We should. OUTNUMBERED. Even better: Let's give cinco a call

OK, here. :) Happy?

Oh more than happy. Intensely proud.

Oh more than happy. Intensely proud.

:lmao: CJ may not use the funny little smiley things but I think they are great. Thank you both, lisaviolet and CJ for making me laugh this evening. Night all. Looking forward to reading more tomorrow. Gotta go now and grade papers for my Abnormal Psych class. The topic, "personality disorders". :rotfl:

Oh, and yes, I am happy also.

 lisaviolet. Love your TR so far. Just what I need on a day I should be working but am already on spring break in my mind . . . :rolleyes1

I think that you and your Mom look so cute and happy. about the pic card. Maybe a photo place can restore it when you get home? Oh, yeah, and who doesn't love baby ducks?

I - JUST - LOST - AN - ENTIRE - INSTALLMENT!!!!!!!:scared1:

Because the DIS lied and said I wasn't logged in and of course I pressed preview instead of submit and you can't go back when you do that.

Excuse me while I lose it. :surfweb: I'll be back. I need a drink.

Hi Lisa!

Where are you going?

Thanks. And thanks for your optimism about my picture card. :cloud9:

EE joining in!

Yeah peeps. It's half marathon runner Amiee! :lovestruc

Speaking of peeps. Totally American. Didn't even know what they were until the DIS. Unless they snuck over with Beelzbub. Who by the way seems to be missing. Strange.

Nothing really interesting happened that night. We went to DD's WPE - which I ADORE. Oh, wait - my parents did mention that night that they were ordering room service for breakfast.

:scared1: is for knowing my parents.

You know those moments where you know frustration and complaining is coming and you have this split second decision window - hmmmm - should I pay now or later? :lmao:

I chose later.

And of course payment came. Remind me.

So now the bus tours begin. Let the games begin.

Let me preface that I have nothing against Disney transportation. Nothing. Most vacations - it's my choice. But you have to remember that for most destinations I'm having to use two modes of transportation EACH WAY.

DD you say. What about DD?

:lmao: Yeah what about it?

Do you know where AKL and DD are located - if you don't map it. My Lord. I grew older on that bus.

Hey good title for my memoir.

So while I'm in bus he!! the DVC mongers are relaxing away at their quiet pool and their could have been my pickup van (yes van :lmao: I wasn't lying!) was in BCV heaven. What did I do in a past life?

And I miss the AK bus by seconds. Oh well I'm still :goodvibes - the MGM (I can't press HS) bus is the best. So there AK bus. But of course an Epcot bus pulls up and you know why I can't get on that one. WHAT A TEASE that bus was.....

You know what even I need a picture break right now. Let me go grab one.

Here let's add the evil bunny's cousin to the mix.

Later a MK bus pulls up. Sighing. The MK is the worst location choice for my three hour tour (sarcasm has to come people - I've lost an entire installment) but I roll the dice and want to at least be moving.

Yes, you guessed it. I just missed the YC/BC bus. :lmao: But at least it's been separated from its milk run cousin resorts.

Before you get all high and mighty and judge my bratty behaviour :goodvibes - let's not forget every time I transfer modes of transportation I have to watch happy bouncy people flowing into those places.

What are they called? - oh yeah fun infused theme parks.

So I get a YC/BC bus. Yeah! Heaven. :cloud9: Yes, that's how low my WDW standards have become. A bus!!!! :lovestruc

So here is where it gets fun. I'm walking by the pool. Walking like I usually do - I don't look at anyone - straight ahead - and therefore no one will look at me. Yes, I'm that powerful! Remember the earlier installment. I have witch like powers.

And apparently my parents were within inches of my chosen path yellling my name and I walked right by them. I have no idea why they didn't throw something at me. But here they are calling my name and I'm not even turning my head. :lmao: Yes, I realize I made my parents look like idiots at their own pool.

I had my MP3 on and really they caught me somewhere between Springsteen and Prince with pre-Thriller vintage Michael thrown in. Really I can't be their daughter during such a playlist find.

So I walk up to their room. Use my key to the world of SAB and they're not there. Where are they? Yes, I know YOU know.

So I hurriedly change into my bathing suit. No, no pictures. :rotfl2:

I'm going to SAB. I love SAB. SAB is mine. I rule SAB. Yes, I adore swimming.

And my mother arrives and I tell her I wait for her at the QP and then we'll go to SAB.

OUT OF HER MOUTH:

"Oh no. We're all going to swim at the quiet pool. We're not going to SAB".

:scared1: WT H?

What is going on? My head hurts. I made her repeat it.

I'm getting it straight in my head. She wants this:

OVER THIS!!

What did you expect a gorgeous picture of SAB. Let me go smash my picture card with a hammer.

Yes my mother who through me nabbed the home of SAB just told me she's not going - WE'RE not going.

And this is where I should pray for forgiveness. My mother knew we were going to SAB. She's ill. She forgot. But I took the reins like there was no tomorrow.

"Your daughter did not just take two buses to swim at your Microtel pool (yes, I know it's not). We are going to SAB and it you hate it - well we'll - oh I might have you two;) - can return to relaxation."

So I swim in the backyard pool while we wait for her. And magic happens. My father tells me that while I was swimming a boy went by him and said to his mother -

"Look Mommy - that girl is a mermaid"

May that child live a blessed life full of happiness and great bounty.

GIRL and MERMAID in the same sentence.

I love him.

Okay, she's here. And they're begrudgingly off to pool paradise. Oh Lord.

HOURS. I swam for HOURS in pool heaven. Slide. Sand. Pool heaven.

And see! She's not THAT unhappy. I have proof.

Sorry if this is your child. But she's too cute. And I love children who can actually amuse themselves. It's like they're a lost breed.

Yes that is my father. He's watching his idiotic daughter almost destroy her camera. And probably wondering "what did I do wrong?" :lmao: (I'm in the pool!)

Oh well. :rotfl:

My mom kept saying, "I'll come in later" - which we all know is code for "not coming in". But I persisted and I took her over to the whirlpool part where she laughed and laughed as I pulled her through. Lovely. :lovestruc

Then Jean shows up. Of course she got a MGM bus right away and was able to take the Molasses boat straight to SAB. Yes, I'm bitter.

Why didn't we get my parents to pick us up? Have you read this TR? Huh, have you? That van wasn't going anywhere after the GPS fiasco and then his annoyance at no easy parking spots at DD the night before. I wasn't even going to suggest it. Laughing.

More swimming. More fun! But where is everyone else? Where are they? Why aren't they with her? We wanted to see if we could get them in as our guests at SAB.

Up Next: We found them! Sort of. Better known as why I detest texting! :lmao:

Lisa,

You really have an amazing eye. I love hearing your stories and the pics are out of this world. I truly wish you would have been able to visit while we were there.

Oh and I didn't see the pic before I read the text, thought you might have been talking about a zhu zhu, lol.

Can't wait to read more my wonderful Canuk friend.

And by the way he goes by Reester Bunny but we all know it's really Beelzbub wrapped in foil.

American bunny stay away from me
American bunny just let me be
Don't come hanging around my store
I don't want to see your ears no more
I got more important things to do
Then spend my time growin' fat with you
Now bunny, stay away
American bunny listen what I say

:lmao::lmao: OMG Lisa. hysterical.

Lovin' your TR btw....

I'll guess I'll call this - let's text to BCV or AKV or BWV - exhausting!

We never use technology on vacation. And this is why. However, Jean's brother loved texting her to let us know where he was at.

Jean showed up to SAB without them - she couldn't find them. But while we were still there she got a text saying they were on their way.

And she texted back that we were at BCV/SAB and not in that form.

They weren't on their way. :sad2: And never texted a null and void text. In fact, they were engrossed with 17 again at their own resort. :rolleyes1

So here are the texts. I'll use A for annoying and MA for more annoying.

A: Where are you? (yes they both insist on full words and punctuation - I swear)

MA: We're leaving now.

A: What? Okay, we're hungry. We're still at Beach Club. We'll meet you in the lobby.

MA: okay.

A lot of time goes by.

A: Where are you? (are you getting the theme:rolleyes1)

MA: We're at the gates.

A: What gates?

MA: The gates.

:lmao::rotfl: OMG. Gates - see texting - could be Mickey's gates. BCV parking gates.

A: What gates?

MA: We're parking.

We look out can't see them.

A: The Beach Club?

MA: No, your lobby.

OMG. I was about to lose it on everyone at this point. My parents are asking a million questions about where they are - like I know. My mother has a pass on that because of her illness. My father not so much. My mother is very hungry. I'm smart enough to send them to the boat. We're going to BW now because we're not waiting and my parents need the boat for my mother's heel. So one situation is taken care of - onto the next.

A: Are you at AKL?

MA: Yes where are we supposed to be?

A: Beach Club. But now we're off to the BW.

MA: Okay.

I really have to change my brain somehow. Because they're fine. :lmao: "Okay".

So we run to meet my parents and the boat hasn't come yet. And of course my father complains. :lmao: To me.

I think you think I control Disney transportation Dad. I don't.

That stopped all the incessant chatter.

I swear I've had a lovely family vacation of thirteen. I have. :lovestruc

They found us with two more texts. We had a beautiful afternoon on the BW. BW bakery sandwiches, fruit plates and of course desserts. And laughter abound.

But I've lost all the pictures of that exact day. But I took some later on in the vacation. So sit back - if anyone is out there:laughing: - and simply enjoy. The glorious BW. Disney got it SO RIGHT. So right. And I can't even tell you how many beautiful days I've had there.

And how many beautiful memories. Up and down that BW and especially on the porch. And many a standard unit. Loved the memories and the view. And the company.

I've played football on the front lawn. And drank so many wonderful rum and cokes.

Sorry couldn't resist.:rotfl2:

Fruit plates galore.

ESPNed it during many a NBA playoff game.

Danced and danced at Atlantic Dance.

And simply just took it all in. Nothing better.

Disney - thank you for the BW. We dreamed for years to own there. Used to spend year after year imagining ourselves there.

Just LOVE IT. Will always be my best memory. Always.

Here we go:

Up next: Breakfast for eight. :lovestruc Tradition.

:lmao::lmao: OMG Lisa. hysterical.

Lovin' your TR btw....

YES, SING IT!:lmao: Nancy, sing it.

You know what's hysterical. I woke up in the middle of the night that night thinking I have to get that bunny crap off my TR. Especially American Bunny - the musical. :rotfl: CRAZY all over my TR. (WISH is fine of course :rolleyes1:rotfl2:) Laying there thinking there must have been more than peanut butter in that little monster. But I couldn't move. Bunny fog.

Lisa - loving this TR!!!! Oh the rockers at the Boardwalk = heaven!

Lisa- I demand to be packed in your suitcase on your next trip or you can just adopt me into your family. It just sounds like a great trip.
