The Most Expensive Free Trip Ever - TR Link is Up! Pg. 164

pure dumb luck

oh wait, I mean it's my strategy

:rotfl:

That's the best strategy, if you've got it.

It's all about to change - signficantly - so hold onto your hats!

;)

Oh boy.

I just figured a simple wording change from "wouldn't" to "would" shortens the list considerably and keeps them from closing your PTR thread for getting too large!

Oh okay.

That's EXACTLY what I thought you meant, Marvali!!!

I could always use more readers on mine, if you think it's getting crowded here. ;):lmao:

no way, I need more readers more than you do

:rotfl:

You people trying to steal my readers ARE most of my readers.

I know you are all dying to know how you fared, and are eagerly waiting to see if it will be you who gets that much-coveted shout-out on my PTR.

I think it's time to reveal the results.

Maybe it would be best to begin with a reminder of what the quiz question was. Yeah, that'd be good. It was: out of 5 choices of Disney snacks, which 3 did the Glennbo family have (as mentioned in my $5 trip report), and which was the favorite. The 5 choices were Frozen Lemonades, Cream Cheese Pretzels, Dole Whip (either float or regular), Mickey Bars, and Rice Krispy Treats.

The correct answer to the quiz, in my opinion  (I'm just waiting for debate on this), is Dole Whips, Jalopeno Cream Cheese Pretzels, and Rice Krispy Treats, with Dole Whips as the favorite.

Dole whips were mentioned in Day 2 - Part 2: "A sudden case of cheese allergy". I wrote "We all loved them, and they will probably become a tradition. Judy said, “how did we not know about these before?!”

Pretzels were mentioned in Day 8 - Part 3: "July 4th at Animal Kingdom" I wrote "The pretzel was good….not so good that I’d go too far out of my way to get one, but okay." Not exactly a ringing endoresement.

And lastly, Rice Krispy Treats were mentioned in Day 8 - Part 4: "Last night choices - night swimming or night vision goggles". Ah yes, who could forget it? This was the one where the cheap dad had kept the free DVC rice krispy treats secret until our pre-departure dinner. :rotfl2: I wrote, "I had kept them a secret from the kids until then. Not as good as zebra domes, but a good ending to a “leftover” meal."

Clearly from these descriptions, Dole Whips had to be the favorite!

We do have a clear-cut, runaway winner.

- who appreciates the finer things in life, and who has obviously hung on every word of my trip report.

- who received a perfect score.

That person is......

El muchacho de Monterrey, Mexico. Tribilín!

Yes, "off the top of his head" he received a perfect score. Nice job Tribilín!

I know you're a competitive bunch, so I'll post your results. I awarded 1 point for each correct snack, and an additional point for the correct favorite.

Contestant Score
Tribilín 4
Liesa 2
Carissa 2
Jordan 2
Dan 1
Marvin 1
Cynthia 1
Cherie 1
Magdalene 1
Rebecca 1

You all get a "thanks for playing" award! Just print this:

Thanks for Playing!!!

It is suitable for being made into a button or an iron-on for a shirt....so many uses! It is a really great consolation prize. :) I thought about misspelling it, as a joke, but no, I'm giving you the high-quality version.

Now I have to ask you.....what was it about the frozen lemonades? Almost everyone included that in their guess. Am I crazy (okay, don't answer that), but did I write about them somewhere? I mean, I do love an ice cold, real squeezed-lemon lemonade, but I don't think I've ever had one at Disney.

The frozen lemonade was thrown in as a ruse!! It was pretty good, too, I might add. So good I fell for it myself!!

:lmao:

Wait a minute, I dont' even remember what I put down. Heck, I changed 'em 3 times. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

OK, Can't breathe. Laughing way too hard!! :lmao:

I can't say I remembered a thing about frozen lemonade to tell you the truth and clearly I was far too lazy to go back and do retro-research.

I dunno. It was hot, a lot of people seem to like them (although honestly I don't at all and I love lemonade)..so why not?

It was an anti-strategy strategy.

Now that's a good ruse! Yes, you put down lemonade. You even said it was the favorite.

It was an anti-strategy strategy.

I would have been worried about anyone who did retro-research. Too much to dig through. Going with something that would be good on a hot day was actually a pretty good strategy.

I did go back and found the post about the dole whips. I remembered the story of the pretzel and the lemonade was a guess because it was HOT when you were there....Mickey Bars too drippy and Rice Krispie Treats not cold enough...that was my logic....

Exactly!

Though I didn't remember the pretzel story. Probably because as much as I love pretzels the jalepeno part of that snack is a deal killer for me.

do you just not like jalapenos or is it too spicy for the tummy?

Neither actually...just seems to wreck a perfectly good pretzel.

Pretzel.
Salt.

Pure and untouched by things like cheese (and I love cheese) or other sorts of things...like mustard. BLEH.

The way it was intended to be.

Like Coffee.

Black. :thumbsup2

I think I missed the quiz !! But you can tell from my title that I like 'em!! In May 2009 we even had a DOLE WHIP Meet!!

pretzels and mustard...mmmmmmm....I am totally a sauce, dressing, ketchup kind of guy....

coffee, on the other hand, black is the best. bitter and strong.

I can't believe that you went back and did any research at all. That's kind of like when Wendy was running your little contest and asked for all of the places that Flat Winkers showed up. Oops. She didn't expect anybody to go research, but it was a Saturday so what else did I have to do? I don't remember how many I submitted, but it was a lot. I remember Great Biscuit had the most, with like around 60 or something. :lmao:

Exactly!

I think Judy wanted to try them because of the jalepeno. We have a yearly mushroom festival not too far from us and every year we have to buy the mushroom jalepeno poppers that this one stand sells. They're chopped-up mushrooms and jalepenos, with some kind of breading, reshaped like mushrooms (though that's not necessary) and then deep fried. They're good, and hot. You need to have a drink nearby when you eat them.

You are a purist. I'm not supposed to have that much salt anymore. :sad1: No-salt pretzels just aren't the same.

I think I missed the quiz !! But you can tell from my title that I like 'em!! In May 2009 we even had a DOLE WHIP Meet!!

Yes, you are the Duchess of Dole Whips Rosie. Undisputed! :goodvibes

I forget a ton of stuff so i Just guessed, had no ryhme or reason just guessed.

Answers verrrrry similar to yours came up a lot! Either you were right on the pulse of everybody else's thinking or your confidence was very convincing.

:goodvibes

Ataboy Faunt!
