Second Wishes and " Mommy, Mickeys Not Here!!!!"

This is a story not about Disney but about a girl. Sure Disney has a part in this story but our main character is undeniably a little girl named MyaRose. MyaRose is a three year old who has been fighting an evil entity named Cancer half her little life. Unfortunately this evil is currently spreading through her body and winning. All Mya wanted was to go back to her happy place which of course was Disney. Unfortunately Mya's Mommy, (myself), was not able to afford a trip so soon, had to cancel the planned trip in July, and was unable to utilize MAW as Mya had already had hers granted last July. I was so sad and heartbroken and shared my sadness on a very special thread on the disboards. That day I was pm'd and after that a special group of fairy godmothers and godfathers got together and granted Mya's wish. I don't know the details but if anyone who was apart of this wants to jump in, please feel free. From the same hospital room that brought such sad news and tears, I recieved the news that would give me something to smile about again. I was asked if Sunday was a good day to leave, and of course any day was a good day to go to Disney. I spent the rest of the week clearing the impromptu getaway with my school and getting last minute things together. I decided to take my Mom again this year and while it was not perfect and peachy keen I did not regret my decision and lets face it nothing is ever perfect and it was as good as it was going to get especially as I get more moody and sad the closer it gets to the time to leave Disney. This time made it so much harder to leave with what we were coming back to. So without further ado, here is the cast (which most of you know).

It was great to be involved even just a little in sending you guys back to Disney. As to how it was done- that was all Disney Magic!!! All the Big Givers have been talking about how sweet Mya is and how deserving she is of this trip. She is such a precious little girl and has been through so much- how could we not help give her that final, wonder filled wish?

Ok... I gotta stop now... Tissue, please? Enough sap out of me! How was the trip? I heard some snipets on the other threads- you met Maroo! Lucky!

Our trip was very magical from beginning to end. I am awestruck by how much you guys and Disney did for us.

Our day started at 5:30 am. I was the first one up and thought to let Mya sleep in untill the last minute again but once again, Mya popped up rearing to go. Our cab arrived an hour later and after running around like a chicken with its head cut off to make sure there was nothing left and the house was spotless, we were on our way. We arrived at the airport around 7:30 am and spent the first hour standing in line for our boarding passes, checking our bags, and going through security where each one of Mya's 9 bottles of liquid medicine had to be checked and a bottle of non travel size sunscreen was found and graciously overlooked. (note: we never did use that bottle of sunscreen.) So after a breakfast of Mcdonalds we were allowed to preboard our plane and had a good flight. It was good for several reasons. One, both my mom and daughter were fast asleep before the plane had even left the runway, Two; I had my Mp3 player to block out the sound of my mother snoring, and Three, I had a freshly brought book from Borders. We landed early at 11:30 am, succesfully rented our car with no problems, and started on our way to SSR.

Upon arriving at the resort we were introduced to livndisney and Jill from SSR management. At the time I didn't know how amazing these two ladies were but I would soon find out. We were led to the Artist's Palette where we got better acquainted with livndisney and her daughter M. I just want to say that if the trip would have ended with me meeting these two special people, I would have been thrilled. We spent hours talking with livndisney and her family and it was one of the most memorable moments of the trip. Mya was a little wary at first but by the end of day was cuddling with livndisney. I will also say that Disney was very quick to jump on board with this very special trip. They went above and beyond for our little princess. Surprise #1 happened when livndisney told us that we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite in the building closest to the carraige house!! After we went over the logistics of the trip, livndisney kindly took Mya to watch cartoons in the lobby so my Mom and I could finish our lunch.

While Mya was being entertained I was able to sneak away and check in where I was introduced to Jesus. Another great manager CM at the SSR. He followed me back to where everyone was where he procedeeded to tell us that we were the family of the day, handed Mya a bunch of stickers, balloons, and goodies , and now get ready for surprise #2. We were planning to meet Maroo today at DHS but we only had 3 day park hopper tickets so I was planning to buy an additional ticket but Jesus produced three one day park hopper tickets free. Then I went to pay for our dining plan but then it was time for surprise #3, again Jesus comped this service for us. Are you catching this trend? Pay close attention to Jesus because you definitly will be reading more about him. After we were finished drying our eyes and smiling like maniacs, we finally parted with livndisney but only untill we got settled then we would meet back up at DHS.

After checking out the place a little bit and unpacking, I changed Mya's clothes and off we went in search of Mickey and his studios.

Up next: meeting Maroo and "the bartender said, HEY, Hey....... HEY!!!!!"
