Since Katharina posted about a bag, I think I need to tell you a bit about my bags I will take with me. I find it very difficult to decide and will actually bring a number of bags (does that sound familiar to anyone, I guess I have not become that much better with deciding after all! ). Also I really like to change around, I found that this prevents my back from aching which it tends to do if I carry one bag for many days all day long.
First, my big back pack as my piece of hand luggage for the plane. It is a Deuter Futura 22, the best back pack ever invented. It is actually the one I use as a day pack for hiking, it is wonderful to carry and it gives your back a lot of air because it has a special system in the back. It will hold all the essentials I need to take on the plane with me as well as a change of clothing and my PJs. I once had a bag arriving 24 hours later than me for my vacation and since then I have always be prepared!
But this will mainly be for travelling and maybe for going to the water park. I have taken the Deuter to the parks if I feel that the other bags give my back a hard time. This bag doesn't at all.
I will also have my everyday purse, a Mandarina Duck MD20 shoulder bag in black. It is rather small (about 20x20 cm or for Americans: 8x8 inches). It will be disneyfied by my Minnie pin!
This will also come on the plane with me (it can easily fit into the backpack to make it into one piece of luggage and will hold all valuables, so I can keep it under my seat while the backpack can go in the overhead bin), but it is also a great size for taking everything I need for the parks with me and I really love this bag. I have it in red as well (might actually take the red one...) and in a bit bigger in green, still wanting to get one in blue as well... And it will go with any nicer outfits to be worn to our signature restaurant dinners.
Then I will take my North Face Pandora back pack.
This is really a tiny backpack, it fits a large book easily, but not a magazine. A thin sweater can go in it, but not a fleece. It has lots of different compartments, especially one which is great to store fastpasses! I think this will be rope drop mornings bag as it has been on a number of previous trips!
And the finally I need to take one these two in order to prevent myself from buying a third one :
The tote is great to take my refillable mug and a book to the pool! I think I will take the blue one, but the final decision will be taken when I am packing and I have an overview of the cloths I am taking so I can take the one that coordinates better.
The Pandora backpack and the tote are quite flat, so they will not add a lot of volume to my suitcase.
Since I mentioned cloths already, let's continue there: Nodnol at one point informed me that she needed to get Disney T-Shirts for the trip. I thought that was a great idea and we did some research and found a few possibilities here in Germany. But when we were ready to order a Google search turned up Zazzle which is now also available in German. There even was a discount for free shipping to Germany and they claimed that all customs and taxes were already included in the price (the last bit turned out not to be true, I had to pay taxes in order to get the parcel from the post office, still trying to figure out what happened ).
Since the T-Shirts were rather reasonably prized we ended up getting two each. Mine are these tow:
And Katharina got:
I have been told that we will take care that we don't wear them so that someone might think that we are wearing matching t-shirts!
And the final thing to post: I bought new running shoes this last Saturday:
They are PTR related because these will be my main park shoes. I know that I am not supposed to use my running shoes for anything else, but they are the best thing to wear in the parks in my opinion. They are Asics Gel Kayano and I took them out for a run on the threadmill yesterday: It was like running on clouds. I absolutely adore these new shoes!
I will have other shoes as well, my Teva sandals, the Teva Mush flip flops, possibly the Keens trainers (even though I am not so sure about them). I still would like a pair of nice comfortable shoes for the evenings when we go to our signature dinners. But I should not complain, my shoe plan is much more precise already than Katharina's. She added to our To-Do-List: Resolve Katharina's shoe situation.
