The *ALL NEW* Polynesian Resort FAQ thread - *APRIL 2009*

Going tomorrow for our 1st stay at the Poly.
I requested Tokelau 3rd floor but if they want to give me Hawaii I'll take it.:rotfl2::rotfl:
I have 2 breakfast ADR's at Kona for the yummy Macadamia Nut Pancakes and other ADR's scattered throughout the parks. We are not on the Dining Plan.
We are Annual Passholders and are taking a more leisurely approach to this vacation.
Thanks to everyone who's posted Trip Reports and advice. I'll be putting it all to good use.
Looks like I'll be coming back to a new thread. Have a great week everyone!!!
ALOHA!!!

Have an awesome trip! I can't wait to hear your trip report:goodvibes

I hope you get some Pixie Dust pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

:surfweb:

I'm getting nervous...we're at the 250th page limit and I haven't seen anything directing me to the new tread. :confused3
I'm sure we can count on our friend Seaspray to make the transition for us and I'm thanking her (them) in advance :goodvibes.
But I still feel a little lost and anxious not seeing that link yet.
On another note...I want to wish all you lucky people who are now, or soon to be, enjoying their Poly vacation a magical time.
I still don't have definite dates. but I'm hoping and planning a week long trip in Oct. and am just as excited :banana:as if it was tomorrow.

I've never been part of a thread that went to 250 pages...what happens??

They lock the thread but open a new one with the same informational posts in the beginning of the thread and we build from there.

I beleive they have a 250 page limit because they found the big threads were making the board run too slow so they put the limits.

Don't worry, they won't shut us down with no place to go...I hope;)

For this most recent FAQ thread, Canadian Guy just duplicated the first few informational posts so hopefully he will do that again. :thumbsup2

when you check online, does it assign your room at that point or just get your info so checkin is quicker?

I was wondering that too because I was wondering if I shot my chances of getting pixie dust because I checked in online?
Is there anyone out there who had checked in online and got a magical upgrade of any kind? Just wondering??

I'm getting nervous because I've been planning to go back to the Poly CL next year and I've read several reviews recently complaining about how the food is bad now and the service is too.

Has anyone been in the past month? And did you see a huge "downgrade" of the CL services???

Booking CL at the Poly is expensive, and not worth it if we all end up unhappy...:confused3

It's hard to tell if these reviews are from "picky" guests, or if things are really going downhill...

I check in the 26th and out of curiosity I checked to see if there were anymore CL rooms left. The only rooms they have left 09/26-10/02 are garden view. So I don't think I'll be getting an upgrade.:sad2:

I would use the online check in if I was arriving at a busy time, I think the room assigner books the room and they just make up your keys and welcome package at that point. I just like the interaction with the front desk and I'm arriving at 9pm so I don't think there will be a big line.

I thought I saw they had MK view/LV rooms still available for that time, so don't give up hope!

We made it to 251 pages!
What's next? :confused3
252 :rotfl:
Actually, I was just checking to see where we're at with the page limit thingy and wanting to say good morning to every one. :)

Hi Poly fans.

We have been to Disney every year for the last 8 years with our last 2 stays being at the poly. We have always rented a car but this year we would like to try Magical Express. Has anyone used this sevice when arriving late at the aiport. We are headed to the poly Jan 12th and are getting in to Orlando around 11:15pm and woudl like to know what we can expect for an arrival time at the poly. I know we will have to get our own bags because of the time but will we have to wait until the buses get semi-full or will we be able to leave right away with a mostly empty bus.

Any info would be great.

In exactly 72 hours we will be checking in to the Polynesian!!

:woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay:

This will be our third stay at the Polynesian, our first in Club Level :lovestruc (thanks to a 40% off pin :worship:)

I'm so excited I can barely focus on my work (which is why I'm on the DISboards...:rolleyes1)

Such excitement! Lovin' It! Have a great time and enjoy CL--we're killing time until our arrival soon, but sadly we won't be at the Polynesian this time. Beach Club is a better fit for F&W Festival (I hope).

I've gotten in late (late!) at night before and while the bus was fairly empty, we did have to wait around for a bit for other folks to trickle in. So we still had to wait! I'm not saying that will happen to you, but just because there aren't a lot of people doesn't mean there won't be a wait. I have always gotten my own bags with magical express (along with my hubby and 2 kids) and we like it. We like having our bags with us and it really isn't that much effort to get the bags and get on the bus. You may not have anyone helping at the hotel when you get there (at least we didn't). I actually didn't mind arriving so late but when we got to the hotel, we were so excited to be there that it took awhile to get to sleep - so take advantage of naps on the plane and the bus :)

I am sooooo excited..WE are going in November and was finalizing things with my TA...She told me that she wants to request that we be in the Samoa Longhouse facing the pool..She says it's pretty and isn't very loud at night..But thought it would be best with my 3 kids....She asked me what I thought..and I told her I had no clue!!! :rotfl:

What do you Poly vets say?

The Ta was telling me that my kids can make leis while they are there? Really?? If that is right..my kids will be so excited.. I gave up fd to stay at the Poly..We got a great rate..and decided since we will only be there 5 days....The poly came out 60 dollars less than the por..though the por had free dining..But we were already eating at T Rex one night..so I think it was worth it..and after listening to my TA tell me how wonderful it was..I just am so excited. I think I am walking around with a smile on my face:)
