This time our son is coming too! Final update at last!

Hey Gang,

finally got home last night and we hope to get things started in a day or two. I need to get some pictures ready and we should be good. We will probably get this moved over to the trip report thread.

Waiting patiently! :surfweb:

Dad's team won their first match today, putting them at 1-3. I am waiting for him to return before starting the TR but wanted to share this pic to help keep you interested:

This was so cool to come home to each night!

We'll be seeing it in a few more weeks. It'll be interesting to see if Brooklynn will go down the slide or if she'll be afraid of the looks of it.

That is a great picture! I might have to go over to POFQ this trip just to look around!

If you visit when we're still there, you can see inside one of the rooms, too, if you'd like. I'm very happy about having a ceiling fan, because I sleep with one every night, and having a refrigerator without having to take one or do a swap.

The slide is pretty tame. Declan would actually stop before he reached the end.

Having a ceiling fan and refrigerator is excellent! They make the trip much more relaxing.

Hello friends....glad you got home safe and sound. Jas and I arrived home late last evening so just wanted to pop on and say hello.

Can't wait for your trip reportpopcorn::

Glad to hear that you got back. You had a long trip but it must have been hard to leave.

Evening all,

I guess it is time to start this report moving in the right direction.

First off, let me introduce you to our travelling companions, the First Timers.

Spraguesfirstbreakfast.jpg

We have newbie dad and newbie mom in the back and Princess Ariel and Princess Aurora in the front.

Not pictured but you all know us, declansdad, pooksma, and our own little pirate Declan. By the end of the trip, he will have a new pirate name to share.

The day was pretty eventful as most of it was spent on planes or in airports. Our flight from Bangor wasn't until 11 am so we had an easy start. The kids were able to entertain themselves with their video games.

Waitingattheairport1.jpg

We also stole an idea from another trip report and made Declan a tshirt with his favourite (at this moment in time) Disney characters.

The flight left on time and we had no real problems, even the Princesses were good (they had neer flown before). Newbie mom doesn't like to fly and she made it as well. We had some food in Boston before heading for the final leg to Orlando.

The flight was on time and we all started to get that great feeling of being only a few minutes and a grocery stop away from the Happiest Place on Earth!

We arrived at POFQ, pooksma and nb mom went to pick up the info packet as we had completed the online check in earlier in the week. All our requests were granted and we had connecting rooms on the third floor of building 6. Here are some room shots before we lived in it too much.

And one of a hidden Mickey.

We hadn't eaten much all day so we all decided to grab some food in the food court, our new mugs, and head for a swim. The food court was ok but nothing fantastic and the newbies were amazed at the dining plan (they hadn't seen anything yet).

We all had fun at the pool and the kids enjoyed the slide. It is a great slide for the little ones, but not much for the older kids ;). Here are some shots from around the pool.

After a refreshing swim, we all called it a night and were looking forward to our first breakfast at O'Hana. We also wondered how Ariel would do with the characters.

Stay tuned.

Hooray for starting! :cool1:

I look very forward to hearing all about the trip, even moreso now that we are staying at French Quarter this time. I'm envisioning us in your room pictures. We're hoping not to be on the third floor, though. With two little ones and an old lady coming off of knee surgery, we requested a first floor room, so we're hoping that works out.

I couldn't help but notice how long Declan's legs look. I bet he's getting ready to shoot up!

Yay you started!! (I did too! link in my siggy!) I love POFQ I can't wait to stay there in December :)

Great start, great pictures!!! POFQ looks gorgeous, seriously contemplating trying a moderate next time....going from deluxe to value was a shock this time for us. I guess you never know what you're missing until you try something new:lmao:

Can't wait for morepopcorn::

Great start! Beautiful pictures, looks like a great room and pool. We stayed at POR one night before our cruise, I can't believe the difference in decor between the two resorts!

:woohoo: Great start! I'm glad you had a smooth flight and got all your requests. Your pictures are reminding me of our first family trip. We really liked POFQ, but I agree, the food court is nothing to write home about.

Can't wait to hear about your first Disney day!

Yay for starting! Can't wait to hear about Ohana's! We go there for dinner on our first day this trip!

Hopefully you will get your request. If not there is always the elevator.

Don't tell me you are a resort snob!;)

The building are a lot different, are the rooms much different?

I liked the Riverside food court but we only ate there once.

Yay for starting! Can't wait to hear about Ohana's! We go there for dinner on our first day this trip!

Coming up soon and you can never go wrong with Ohana's.

Hopefully you will get your request. If not there is always the elevator.

For some reason, I was thinking French Quarter did not have elevators. Oh well, we've made the request, so we'll see what happens. It they have elevators, it's not really an issue. Wonder what I was thinking? Isn't there a mod that does not have elevators, or am I just crazy?

Wait...don't answer that last question! :crazy2:

because you are my friend,I'll honour your request and not answer. :rotfl2:

Great start! What a pretty resort :) We are huge Phineas and Ferb fans at our house too - so I love Declan's shirt!

After a good night's sleep, we were ready to roll for our 9:15 ressie at Ohana. As has become our tradition, we took Declan's pic before leaving the room. We started doing this in case he got separated from us at any point during the day.

Ready to go:

StartofDay2.jpg

We took the bus to MK with Princess Aurora asking the entire drive "When will we get there?". Then we hopped the monorail to the Poly. Breakfast was great as always. I love, love, love that pinepapple bread and ended up wrestling newbie dad for the last piece.

Liloandfriends.jpg

This day was Princess Ariel's first character experience and began a trend of "I go, you hold me Daddy" for the newbs.

Spragues.jpg

After breakfast, we headed to MK. As we learned our last trip, for us, we don't feel we've arrived at WDW until we get to MK. The dads made the first of many FP runs and got passes for BTMRR. While they were off to do that, we rode Dumbo. Then it was over to the Carousel, which became one of Princess Ariel's favourite rides.

Off to Philharmagic to cool down a bit. We had quite a long wait (for small ppl) for Dumbo and the temp was heating up. (Not that we complained, coming from a cool, wet July in Atlantic Canada)

The stars were ready to watch the show:

Mynewshades.jpg

We used our FPs and the newbs got a kids swap. This was great for all. It allowed one to ride with us and then the other took Declan and Princess Aurora on again. While over in Frontierland, we picked up FPs for Splash as well.

Next we headed to HM.

DandA.jpg

Princess Aurora decided she would ride with me. Unfortunately, in the stretching room she got scared and I had to use the exit. No big deal but I felt badly for her. (This fear would be conquored later in the trip, I am happy to say) I think the dark and the spooky voice was totally unexpected for her.

The Newbies decided they would ride IASW, which, those of you who have followed us before, know is Declan's favourite ride.:scared1::headache::mad:

We made our way to POTC. I was glad to see that Jack was still there waiting for me pirate::upsidedow:flower3: Now if they would just add Will, my life would be complete!:lmao:;)

We met up again and everyone except Princess Ariel and I rode Splash. We waited and had a great chat. She told me all about "Small Worl" . Little did I know, this would be a hint of things to come.

Pooped out, we headed back to POFQ for a swim, a nap and later, supper from the food court.

More to come!:dance3:

:goodvibesThanks to all of you who have decided to read along! We are happy to have you here and appreciate how patient you all have been as we finally get this TR moving.:goodvibes
