What Are You Reading Right Now?

I just finished My Sister's Keeper. I have read several of Jodi's books and this one didn't surprise at all. In fact I correctly guessed the plot twist very early on.

I started "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" last night - just got into the first chapter so too early to tell. I have heard great things about it though. I always go into every book hoping this is one of the proverbial great reads. "Child 44" was pretty darn close! I am looking forward to reading the author's 2nd book, once it comes out in paperback (hardcovers are just too darn bulky).

I started Maus I by Art Spiegleman tonight. It is my first graphic novel. I would never have selected such a book, but this is what was selected by my book club. We all were of the opinion that we'd give it a try.

So far, I'm liking it and the storyline. It's about a son asking his dad to recall his holocaust memories... before, during and after.

Finally started Corsiar by Clive Cussler and somebody, I"ve had it loaded to my Kindle for a while now.

I'm reading two right now - 'We Two' by Gillian Gill, about the love affair between Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, and 'Who Will Write Our History' by Samuel Kassow, about a hidden archive buried by the Jews of the Warsaw Ghetto during WWII. Great historical reads both.

I'm reading The Scoop by Fern Michaels - another page turner :thumbsup2

Loved her "sisterhood" series and this one is a great start to a new series!

Both of these sound very good. I love history books and I've been asked at my last job if I was taking a class in English history. I told them, "no, I just like to read about it."

I just finished reading Shelter Me by Juliette Fay. It was pretty good. It's a story about a woman who was recently widowed and has two small children. As a surprise, a contractor shows up to build her a porch on her home (her husband had ordered it prior to his death). The story revolves around her coping with grief, reaching out and depending on people she would have previously shunned, and coming out of her grief.

Triple Exposure by Colleen Thompson. So far really good. :thumbsup2

I have read several of her other books and have not been disappointed.

I just finished Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick which is a really good young adult book about a fallen angel.

I'm just getting into Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. I am on a young adult kick. I'm not sure why!

Hush, Hush sounds good, did you get it on an early read program?

I am reading Once Bitten, Twice Shy. It's a fun read. I have into the young adult books my self lately. There just seems to be more of them that I am interested in.

I finished Maus I tonight. I didn't like that it just ended. Now I'm going to have to pick up Maus II to see if it provides more information.

Next up is Great Catherine. I find Catherine the Great absolutely fascinating. If you admire Katherine of Aragon, you'll like Catherine the Great, too. Both were very smart women who knew how to position themselves into power and then how to use it... well until Katherine was exiled, anyway.

Right now, I am reading through the following:

"The Gripping Hand" by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle.
"Physics of the Impossible" by Michio Kaku
"Anathem" by Neil Stephenson
"Around the World in 80 Days" by Jules Verne

and, thanks to a delivery today, "Mousejunkies" and "The 2010 Unofficial Guide to WDW"

Right now its "Everything you want to know about careers in Law Enforcement." Then its gonna be theresa Schwegel

Atonement, and aside from the fact that the prose can put me to sleep, I love it. Much different than things I've been reading.

I did get it through an early readers program. I'm not sure where I requested it as the books just show up every now and then but I'm glad I did! I think it's due to be released in Oct.

It sounds great. I am going to definitely look for this one at the book store when it comes out.
