Relax boys, the belly dancer does not want your singles! 9/2 final update p.87

:grouphug: Would that not be amazing? :woohoo: :dance3: That's a big ol plus for August. Jenna could swing it too due to hers not missing more school.

One of the reasons we wanted Oct 2010 was for the Race for the Taste which they aren't doing after this year. But rumor has it that they are combining 2 small races into a big race hopefully in October. :thumbsup2

COOOEEEEE JENNA...first two weeks in August 2011:thumbsup2 you know you want to honey:rotfl:

Well I'm sure we could arrange a few races up to the bar for some tastey cocktails or we could make dinner ressies in some far flung place and the person that gets there first is the winner...I'll even bring along some medals to make it interesting;):lmao:

Well I want to say that I have been reading but I haven't had had time to comment. I get to make my adr's (or whatever they are called now) on Sat.:cool1:

Okay Doll, share the ADR's popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

My vote is for oct 2010 and august 2011

:cool1:You see it has to be Aug'11, now you HAVE TO listen because Jordan is one of the most knowledgeable and wise people on the Dis :worship: so you have to take his advice seriously.

Do tell ABFAM. popcorn::

I have been working on my pros/cons list for both Oct 2010/Aug 2011 and Dec 2010/Oct 2011. :surfweb:

Can we see said list...if I'm on the cons side I will totally cry;)

I don't mind 2 times out of school, but I guess it's more mindset. If you go in August, the kids might have a week or two after vacation to relax before starting school again. Going during school, it may be in the back of their minds or they may have assignments to do while on vacation or extra work to do to catch up when they get back.

Maybe it's different for kids. Vacation is vacation no matter when it is...just something to think about.

I agree 100% Jordan about giving the kiddleywinks a wee break before they start back into the educational grind (on the other hand my two will be going back to school as soon as we get home but I'm just a very hard mother;)

That's kind of where I am now especially with Gab in Jr High now. Elem is a slam dunk as far as missing in my mind  I know some of the teachers out there may disagree but my children learn more on a 10-12 day vacation than a week in class. ;) I do like the thought of not being stressed about homework and getting permission etc etc. :goodvibes

:rotfl2:  :flower3: I am about 99.9% convinced it will be Oct 2010/August 2011. :woohoo: I am also 99.9% sure Jenna will go for it too. :grouphug: Plus the 1st two weeks in August will cover Joshua's bday and my anniversary. I love it when a plan comes together.

:lmao: I also like your racing to the bar idea. Winner gets a Lapu Lapu!!! :dance3:

Because I am a Disney obsessed freak, another story for another time, I felt it right to post my pros/cons list. I know technically this falls under the pre-trippie umbrella but work with me. :flower3:

But darn, I have a meeting I forgot about. Be back in a bit!

I'm very excited about all this but I'm praying that it's not going to be one of those so close but so far stories and you all decide to go in Oct'2011.

Our school's go back mid August so missing a couple of days at the beginning wouldn't be a problem but any more or any later in the year and time off school is a complete no-no for Becci as she will be doing her Standard Grade exams (standard grades are the Scottish educational qualifications) in that school year

I hate it when work gets in the way of Dis-ing don't you:headache::lmao:

Pros/Cons Oct 2010/Aug 2011 vs Dec 2010/ Oct2011

October 2010/August 2011

• Food and Wine Festival October 2010 :)

• October 2010 sooner than December 2010 :)
• New Disney race TBA in October 2010 :)
• October is a great time to golf for DH :)
• Missing school for only one of the trips :)
• Kirsteen et al in August 2011 :)
• Will be there for Joshua’s bday and our anniversary August 2011 :)
• August is bloody hot :(
• Crowded in August :(
• More points needed for August as it’s peak season :(
• Possible Free dining again in August making ADRs more difficult :(

December 2010/October 2011

• Holiday décor Dec 2010 :)
• Food and Wine Festival October 2011 :)
• Two best times of the year to go :)
• Missing more school :(
• December close to Hanukkah; lots of money to be spending in December :(
• Waiting 55 more days for next trip to WDW :(
• Less points needed as not peak season :)
• DH having to wait to golf unless golf is good in Dec too? Could be :( or :) :confused3
• Free dining possible again in December making ADRs more difficult to obtain :(

Insights? Comments? Concerns? Questions? :flower3:

The first AP is good for 12 months so that would put us at Oct 2010-Oct 2011 but the renewals are good for 15 months so that would put us at Oct 2011- Jan 2012. Much to think about! :cloud9:

Pros/Cons Oct 2010/Aug 2011 vs Dec 2010/ Oct2011

October 2010/August 2011

• Food and Wine Festival October 2010 :) yummy
• DH wants to do Sea World during next Orlando trip and loves SW in October which means I get a longer trip in Oct 2010 then I would in Dec 2010 :) sooner the better and you can't argue with getting as long a trip as possible
• October 2010 sooner than December 2010 :) and if you're anything like me you're not the most patient of people
• New Disney race TBA in October 2010 :) can't see the attraction of all that excercise but YAY anyway
• October is a great time to golf for DH :) as above, can't see the attraction but YAY Micahel
• Missing school for only one of the trips :) extra responsible parent points...always handy to bank some
• Kirsteen et al in August 2011 :) ...now where do I start? Please, please, please,... I am relieved you didn't make this a negative
• Will be there for Joshua’s bday and our anniversary August 2011 :) Love celebrating in WDW
• August is bloody hot :( It's totally managable...we come from Scotland and we didn't have any problems;)
• Crowded in August :( Actually wasn't too bad this year, with some good planning in place we didn't wait any longer that 45mins (less for most of them)
• More points needed for August as it’s peak season :( can't argue with that one
• Possible Free dining again in August making ADRs more difficult :( why do you think we're so keen to go then...didn't have any problems getting any of our ressies including the much sought after dinner at Le Cellier

December 2010/October 2011

• Holiday décor Dec 2010 :) can't argue I'd love to see that Holiday decor too
• Food and Wine Festival October 2011 :) also available in 2010
• Two best times of the year to go :) are you sure
• Missing more school :( naughty naughty
• December close to Hanukkah; lots of money to be spending in December :( December is vile on the money front, totally agree
• Waiting 55 more days for next trip to WDW :( I refer you to my lack of patience comment
• Less points needed as not peak season :) points do make prizes
• DH having to wait to golf unless golf is good in Dec too? Could be :( or :) :confused3 to be fair it's probably pretty good in Dec too
• Free dining possible again in December making ADRs more difficult to obtain :(

I would definately go for Oct'2010/Aug'2011...for purely selfish reasons of course

I had to re-read that to make sure I saw what I think I did....Permission????

You don't need permission from anyone to take your kids on a family vacation. This is a real pet peeve of mine. Our school district has tried many times to tell us we can't do vacations, but they've been told a few times where they can stick that idea.:thumbsup2

It was alot harder last year with Evan being in high school, but I never had problems with elem or middle school. We either get the homework early enough that they do it before we leave or on the plane. Maybe I'm a bad mom, but I don't worry about them missing school for one second.

ok.....stepping off my soap box

:flower3: Drinking around the World would rock! :cool1:

DVC members staying on points cannot take advantage of Free Dining; packages only. And we'd have APs too. But I could get the TIW card. :thumbsup2

:goodvibes I totally agree. I wouldn't not take them either but one less hassle is a good thing. And not having work to make up is even better! :teeth: But you are right, they are our children!

Sunday, Nov 29- Animal Kingdom – Ohanna’s for supper

'Ohana is my very favorite meal! :cloud9:

Monday, Nov 30- Epcot, LeCellier or Rose and Crown (depending on which one I can get)

Both look terrific!

Tuesday, Dec 1-Hollywood Studios, Brown Derby

Can't wait for your review. Love the theme!

Wednesday, Dec 2- Break Day, DTD, Visit other resorts, I have no idea where to eat today.

If paying OOP then Earl as it's good and cheap. If not we love Raglan Road! :woohoo:

Thursday, Dec 3- Epcot, Candlelight Processional LeCellier or Rose and Crown (which ever one I did not get on the first day at Epcot)

Good plan.

Friday, Dec 4-Hollywood Studios, 50’s Primetime Cafe

So dying to try 50's. I have yet to read a bad review.

Saturday, Dec 5- Animal Kingdom, Boma for supper

Next to 'Ohana, Boma is tied for 2nd as my favorite meal.

Sunday, Dec 6- Magic Kingdom, MVMCP, LTT for lunch

Want to try this but waiting for the characters to return. Rumor has it, they may! :yay:

Monday, Dec 7- Whatever Park we want in the morning. Fly Home in the afternoon.

I still have one TS credit left but I don't know where to eat on Dec 2. I am open to suggestions.

You know I am going to say Tony's. ;)

'Ohana is my very favorite meal! :cloud9:
I am really looking forward to this one.:thumbsup2

Can't wait for your review. Love the theme!
I hope it is as good as I have been reading. I too love the theme. I :lovestruc old Hollywood.

If paying OOP then Earl as it's good and cheap. If not we love Raglan Road! :woohoo:
I think we will pay OOP for our meals this day.

Good plan.
I was going to do the CP package but now it is 2 credits and very expensive. I think I will just go stand in line for this. I expect crowds but I don't think it will as bad as it will be later on in the month.

I know, if the characters were there I would go for dinner but since they are not I am going for lunch.

You know I am going to say Tony's. ;)
I forgot to put that in there. I am planning on Tony's when they open. I think we will have enough time to eat and get back to the resort before ME picks us up. Our flight leaves at 4:00 now instead of 5:00.:sad2:

Ok here they are.....

Done bothe and enjoyed both but Le Cellier if you can get the ressie is outstanding...this was actually our favourite meal just based on the food:cloud9:. Ohana's was a close second as it had the whole package.

Tuesday, Dec 1-Hollywood Studios, Brown Derby

Never tried it as put off by the fact that it's 2TS

Wednesday, Dec 2- Break Day, DTD, Visit other resorts, I have no idea where to eat today.

I agree with you on Tony's we love it and were not disappointed on our return there this year:thumbsup2

Other options could be Hoop-dee-doo-review, it is unfortunately 2TS and is not what you'd call fine dining but we had a fantastic time and thought it was worth it

I am glad to hear that you had a good meal there. I didn't want to go there at first because I kept seeing bad reviews.

Was it good? I have heard good things about it and was thinking that maybe I would skip Brown Derby and do this. It looks like so much fun.

Also this is a big Disney week for me. Friday I am going to see the Christmas Carol Train. Saturday I make my dining ressies and Sunday is the day I tell my dh about our trip. :)

We love, love, love Tonys and I quite happily recommend it. Scrummy food in a very cute setting:thumbsup2

HDDR was so much fun. The food was good and plentiful and the entertainment was so much fun, the girls were hooting with laughter through out the show:thumbsup2.

:woohoo:Very exciting week :yay: Toots. Let us know how it all goes popcorn::

Hmmm now I have no idea what to do!?!?! Brown Derby or HDDR? I am torn. I want to do both. I will definitely let you all know how it goes. I will post pictures too from the CC Train. I am planing on going early so I don't have to wait in line too long.
