There is NO random dancing at Disney! A June TR *NEW 9/19 *FINAL THOUGHTS*

What a great day!! At dinner tonight, out of the blue, DH says, "You know, I could stay at the Beach Club." :woohoo:

SAB sounds like great fun. Does the lazy river have tubes to borrow??

We too liked Cape May Cafe.

Can't wait to hear more.

Make sure you get that in writing! The lazy river has tubes you can rent, although we never did. A family who was done with their's gave one to us this day and we promptly had huge family drama over it.:sad2:

I read through this whole TR yesterday. I am enjoying your stories and your pictures! :goodvibes

My family also says the signs mean "No Dancing"! :rotfl2:

I have stayed at the Yacht Club twice and the Beach Club once. I love it there! On trips when we weren't staying there, we had to go visit at least once to go to Beaches and Cream and just walk around and enjoy the place.

Hi and welcome!! I'm so glad you decided to join in.:goodvibes You've been to Disney so many times. That's so awesome! You know? We never made it in to Beaches and Cream. We were just never hungry at the right time I guess, although I'll forever lament the No Way Jose that got away.:rotfl:

Ahhhh, I couldn't decide whether to smile or cry on this update! Of course all the pictures of SAB made me want to smile, but I also wanted to cry because I'm not there right now;) It truly is a little piece of heaven:cloud9: Sounds like a great day! I liked hearing about Cape May's dinner too because we only did breakfast there. Oh don't you just want to go back?:goodvibes

Yes!! Typing this update made me "homesick".:sad1:

What a beautiful resort.... that pool area-- we have to stay there sometime.

Cape May is one of my favorites. We have not been there in a few trips, but I think it might just happen next trip.

Excited to see what happens that night.

I totally understand about dying to get out of the hotel room...even on a rest day I want to do something!

Laura, your little mermaids would LOVE SAB! It's pretty darn amazing.:cloud9: Yes, Disney time is such valuable time it just feels wrong to waste it doing something we can just as easily do at home, like sleep in.

Oh what a wonderfully relaxing day! :cloud9:

Oh I want to be by the pool by at a Disney resort RIGHT NOW!

I really want to try Cape May Cafe. I love seafood!

I wish I would have taken a picture of the cute metal buckets the clams and mussels were served in. Those were a big hit. You'll be by the pool at a Disney resort so soon, LL!:yay:

Oh fun fun fun! Resort days are sooo great aren't they? Kinda conflicting though too because you have this tremendously fun resort you are staying at and want to experience and enjoy, but heck! You're in Disney World! Get out and do something!

We've been to Cape May twice for breakfast and really enjoyed it both times. Wonder how many pics of those chairs are out there on TRs?

Mmmmm, how did you spend your evening?

I wondered how many photos were taken in those chairs when I was taking my pictures, but I couldn't help myself. I promised myself and my family that we'd take time to really take in our resort this trip, but even with most of a day devoted to nothing but the BC, I still feel like we missed so much. I guess we need to move in for awhile.;)

Ahhh...what a fun and relaxing day you had.:cloud9: SAB sounds like soooo much fun!!

Cape May's Clambake sounds very yummy!! and the oreo bon bons--ohhhh... I'm hungry just thinking about them.

Can't wait to hear how you spent your evening.....popcorn::

What a wonderful day -- just relaxing and enjoying that wonderful pool sounds heavenly!

Glad you liked Cape May -- every year we talk about eating there -- one day we will!

Ahhh, Storm Along Bay, you have my heart.:cloud9: We spent a good 4 or 5 hours just enjoying that marvelous pool. Ian discovered the small water slide near the entrance to the big pirate ship water slide and went down it at least 30 times. The rest of us took turns braving the big water slide. We floated around the "lazy" river, which is actually about 8 feet deep. Since the temperatures were so high, the river was the most refreshing part of the pool. We dug our feet into the sandy pool bottom. We explored. Lunch was from Hurricane Hannah's. I can't remember what George got, but Amelia and Ian got grilled cheese kids meals and Madeline and I got the most delicious chicken wraps. We both had half left to save. I read a little. Perfect.:cloud9:

Ok, this was such a great description, it made me want to be on vacation with you. What a wonderful day at the pool. I get anxious to get going places, but that pool day was worth skipping a park for.

It sounds like CMC was a great experience. I have heard other good things, but we will probably never try it since neither one of us likes seafood. It would be kind of a waste for us to go there.

A pool day was just what we all needed.:goodvibes

Aw, thanks. It was just right for our family, like a mini beach vacation right in the middle of our Disney trip.:goodvibes Yes, CMC had some other things on the buffet, but the big draw is the seafood, so if you're not a fan, its probably not worth going, although those oreo bonbons are almost worth a trip themselves.

I'm a little late, but I've just caught up with your whole TR. You have such a cute family, and you look like you had an awesome trip :goodvibes I especially like your title, because those signs had my parents and I in stitches last year too :thumbsup2 I've always wanted to stay at the BC too, as I love how close it is to Epcot - maybe one day :cloud9:

Can't wait to read the rest of the report!

A day at the pool sounds wonderful!
We are talking aboout doing that on our next trip to Disney.
Was the pool crowded while you were there?

can't wait to hear what you did next!

Your time at SAB sounds wonderful! :goodvibes I'd love to hang out there for a few hours.

I haven't heard too much about dinner at Cape May Buffet. I'll have to research it more. I'd do it if I knew they'd have the crab legs!

Why or why won't my family doing a relaxing day? They don't last two hours at the resort before they are asking when we are going to "do something" ;)

SAB looks fabulous!!! Oh i want DVC!!!!

What a wonderful day "off"! :cool1: SAB is just sooo appealing to me! I think our family would love it... maybe some day. :confused3

I also just went back and re-read your previous update... I had read it in my inbox without the pictures... it's much better with them. ;) Kona looks great - I added it to our list for next time. The boys would die for that Kona Cone!!!! :thumbsup2

I love the relaxing days. We have to planned and do hope they are to relax and not run all over the place seeing things.

What a great relaxing day!!! Your kids looked like they really enjoyed the pool and I'm a big fan of lazy rivers so I bet SAB would be a slice of heaven for me!!!!!

I'm not a big seafood fan, so I'm not sure Cape May would be my cup of tea, but I'm glad you guys had a great evening dinner!!

Can't wait to hear more!

It was a great break in the middle of our week.:goodvibes No, the pool itself never felt crowded, although when we got got to the pool later in the day chairs were harded to find and life jackets were more scarce. This day we had no problem getting a couple of lounges and a round table for lunch.:thumbsup2

Aw, thank you:goodvibes AND welcome! Doesn't it make you wonder who designed those signs and then who APPROVED them?:rotfl: Yes, if you ever get the chance, BC is awesome!:thumbsup2

It was so nice to just chill for a few hours, soaking up the atmosphere. Luckily I didn't know crab legs were ever served there before we went or I'd have been sad we didn't get them.

I think my gang would have gladly taken more days of just playing at the pool.:goodvibes I would LOVE to have DVC.:cloud9:

I bet your family would love SAB also.:yay: AND the Kona Cone is kid Nirvana.

I love the relaxing days. We have to planned and do hope they are to relax and not run all over the place seeing things.

Breaks are sometimes hard to take at Disney World because there is so much to see and do, but I think they're a necessity.:thumbsup2

Hi Jen! Are you home? SAB's lazy river was great; it had a pretty strong current. I don't think I'd make a special trip over to CMC if I wasn't into seafood, but they did have lots of good selections.

Okay, all caught up. Lets see...

Kona sounds amazing. I have been trying to decide between the shrimp scallops, the tuna, or the almond crusted chicken myself. DS has already decided on the Kona cone.

I love the pic of you with your kids on Main Street and Madeline with the balloons-thats a great picture.

I am pretty sure I need to stay at Beach Club just so I can take a dip in SAB. Every since I saw it a few years ago when we went to breakfast at Cape May I have wanted to stay there.

Hi Minnie! Are you bouncing off the walls yet? I am so excited for you. Only 8 more days!!:yay::yay:

I hope you enjoy Kona. We loved it.:cloud9: And your DS will think he's died and gone to heaven with that Kona Cone.

I hope you can stay at the BC someday. It was truley a great resort.:goodvibes

SAB!!!!!!!!

:cloud9::love::cloud9::love:

I'm glad u had a relaxing day by the pool. It really is like your very own waterpark....I also like Hurricane Hanna's..The Flatbread Chicken Sandwich is awesome.....is that what you had or their cold wrap?

What a fun update! Really liked all your photos of the BC! I can't wait to stay there in Dec, though we probably won't be able to enjoy the pool much... I don't know that sand is that appealing in December, but we'll see! Regardless, everything sounds great! Looks like you enjoyed the clam bake too! Have you ever had breakfast? I like the seafood buffet twist, though, o over all good food? I might have to check that one out for Dec, too!

Can't wait to see what is up next, a resort day so far sounds like it has been a nice change of pace and a great way to beat the heat!!! :thumbsup2

I had the flatbread and I just looked at the menu, and Maddy had the turkey sandwhich, not a wrap. They were both really yummy and really large.

We didn't do the breakfast at CMC, but it looks cute with the characters in their swim wear. The food was overall good. We were just most attracted to the seafood selections. There was a nice looking prime rib at the carving station as well as some other great looking sides.:thumbsup2 Yes, the resort day was so good for our crew.:goodvibes

This post is only loosely Disney related, but I just had to share it. I hope you all don't mind. Here are a few pictures from a recent "field trip" my family took.

Did we go back to Florida? Nope. We headed to the booming metropolis of Athens, MI, population just over 1,000 and home of the Critchlow alligator sanctuary. They rescue all sorts of reptiles and amphibians, including snakes, lizards, toads and frogs, tortoises, mostly exotics, and of course, alligators. The sanctuary has only been in operation for about a year but has plans to expand. What a great find! The owner was amazingly knowledgable about his charges, and put on a great little show with the gators. We hung around after ward and he talked to us for a good hour about future plans, the stories of some of his rescues and general information about the critters living there. He interacted really well with children.

Here's the Disney connection: After his alligator demonstration, during which he calls a couple of different gators out of the water using sticks with different colors of tape wrapped around the handles, he talked with George and myself while the kids fed one of the African tortoises. He asked us if we were familiar with the Disney theme park Animal Kingdom. Yes, we were there a month ago, we told him. He asked if we'd gone on the safari and we again said yes, wondering where this was going. He told us that his daughter, who helped create the sanctuary, had done some training at Animal Kingdom. The animals on the safari are trained to march back into shelters, which the public can't see, at the end of the day. His daughter came back and taught her dad the same training techniques, including using the different colored sticks for separating an animal from the group, that she'd learned at Animal Kingdom. Isn't that cool? We'll definitely be back and will remember the Disney connection every time.:goodvibes
