There is NO random dancing at Disney! A June TR *NEW 9/19 *FINAL THOUGHTS*

It sounds like you had the same waitress at Kona that we did. Was she a middle aged lady with short hair? Glad you guys loved the food, too. Especially that bread and butter!! Yummm!

That's too funny about missing the stop for the MK. I think we did the same thing and it was right after our meal at Kona. :rotfl:

Oops, your post snuck in between two replies. No, we had a waiter and he was Asian, so probably not the same one.;) BUT it sounds like they had the same attitude toward their jobs. Oh my goodness, how could I have forgotten to mention the bread and macadamia nut butter!!? Yes, it was crazy good. The think that killed me about missing our stop is that the REST of my family, except maybe Ian, noticed we were missing it and didn't say a word until we had pulled away. Maybe they thought another lap around the monorail loop was part of my grand itinerary.

Ooo, great update! Kona is on my Wish List... one of these days! I know some kids who would LOVE that kona cone!

I love MK at night too. BTMR at night... esp. in the rain... is crazy fast! We love it!

Okay... "see" ya after I get all moved!

Good luck on your move!! Are you all packed?

:rotfl2: I can totally picture my family doing exactly that, thinking I had planned another loop around just for fun. "What? You didn't mean to do that?" :rotfl:

I'm w/you and Ian, I love MK at night. I'm glad the little man enjoyed HM. I love that ride too.

Kona sounds so good, I wish my DH would give in and let me make an ADR there...

I love a Dole whip, but like you, think the float is a little too much.

How did I miss the last two updates (I caught part one but not Tom Sawyer Island) and your evening at MK...I agree with Ian MK at night is spectacular! We have to hit Kona sometime... everybody says such great things.

Excited to hear all about the BC!

Kona was great, but there are so many good restaraunts at Disney.:thumbsup2 The Magic Kingdom is my very favorite night time park.:cloud9:

No problem.:) I wish we would have had another MK evening, but it was not to be this time.:sad2:

The Kona is one of our must do's when we go there. The food is so different and we haven't had a bad meal yet. The HM is one of our favorite rides and we took Dylan on it when he was 4 months old, but we didn't take him this time. I think it would have been too scary for him this time.

Ninja Ian in the stroller cracked me up!! :rotfl2: He looks like a fun kid.

I was relieved to see that it wasn't one of your children that went missing, but still, how terrible for the family that did experience a missing child. :scared1: I know I will be absolutely crazy about that when I take my own kids to Disney (many years from now...).

Great updates. Kona sounds interesting, but DH and I are unfortunately way too picky for a place like that!

Just catching up! Hooray for MK at night, isn't it wonderful? We have only had Kona for breakfast, sounds like a dinner ressie is a must do!
Can't wait to read about your Beach Club day!

“We didn’t find the fort.”
“What, you were gone forever.”
“Ian wanted to explore the mine, and then we couldn’t find the fort.”
“Oh. Remember the map of the island that I pointed out to you before you guys left?”
“I didn’t look at it. I figured it wouldn’t be hard to find.”
“Oh. Well, let’s get going. We’re fried and would like to be done waiting.” Grrr.

Oh look. It's the map.

What is it about men and asking for directions?? :confused3

So glad the lost child was found... I feel so sorry for those parents; what a horrible few minutes they had!

Next was dessert and the girls knew exactly what they were going to have because they'd been drooling over pictures for weeks. The Kona Cone!

Madeline asked nicely so we let her have the whole bunch of balloons.;)

 The Kona Cone would be perfect for my kids... Billy would be happy with just the cotton candy and Tricia would be satisfied with the ice cream!

Loved the balloon picture! Very cute!

I think I'm definitely going to try the pinapple/vanilla swirl for my first Dole Whip! :thumbsup2

What a lovely evening at the MK... especially since it seemed so much cooler! Specro time is a great time to get some rides in with less wait!

Ahh, looking forward to the resort post!

We were all loving Kona. AND my picky, picky 9 year old tried a fried green tomato and loved it!:scared1: She wants me to try to make them at home.:sad2: It was smart to skip the HM this trip. Heck, we skipped it last trip because the girls were scared of it and they were 7 and 5!

He's funny. A definite charcter, for sure.:)

Disney is an easy place to lose a child, with all of the sights and crowds. Luckily, none of mine are wanderers, but I was very happy to have Ian in a stroller, just to be safe.:thumbsup2

Great updates. Kona sounds interesting, but DH and I are unfortunately way too picky for a place like that!

I've heard they have a yummy breakfast also which is a little less adventurous.:)

Just catching up! Hooray for MK at night, isn't it wonderful? We have only had Kona for breakfast, sounds like a dinner ressie is a must do!
Can't wait to read about your Beach Club day!

Hello and welcome back Miss Traveler! I can't wait to hear about your Las Vegas adventures.:goodvibes MK at night is truely magical.:cloud9: I'd say definitely give Kona a shot. I was really amazed by the quality of the seafood and the amazing desserts.

What is it about men and asking for directions?? :confused3

Good question!

So glad the lost child was found... I feel so sorry for those parents; what a horrible few minutes they had!

Oh, I know! Been there, done that. There can't be many worse feelings.:scared1:[/FONT

 The Kona Cone would be perfect for my kids... Billy would be happy with just the cotton candy and Tricia would be satisfied with the ice cream!

I was hoping the girls might share, but I guess it compared to the AK turkey leg. They had to have their own.

Loved the balloon picture! Very cute!

Me too!:goodvibes

I think I'm definitely going to try the pinapple/vanilla swirl for my first Dole Whip! :thumbsup2

Maddy said she really liked hers.

What a lovely evening at the MK... especially since it seemed so much cooler! Specro time is a great time to get some rides in with less wait!

It was nice to get away from the crowds also.:thumbsup2

Ahh, looking forward to the resort post!

I'm working on it now.:thumbsup2

I’d been looking forward to this day since before we left home, our resort day!! I decided that if we were going to spend the money to stay in a nice resort, by golly we were going to enjoy it! Thursday certainly dawned, but not bright and early for most of us. I was the first up, so I went down to the Marketplace for a mug refill and a chocolate croissant, and stopped by the concierge desk to pick up our Hoop de Doo Review tickets for Sunday. I headed back up to our room where I found my whole crew still asleep, the lazykins. I began sorting laundry and by 9:00 Amelia and George were waking up. George helped me get the laundry downstairs, it was right under our room, and then he and Amelia decided to hit SAB! He threw our laundry into the dryers on their way out. I was getting so antsy and conflicted at this point. This was a rest day, so rest was in order, but I didn’t want to waste time sitting in a hotel room while we were at Disney World! While I was pondering, Ian woke up. It was already 9:30! I got him fed, sunscreened and ready for the pool and finally woke Maddy up at 10:00. I couldn’t stand it anymore. I wanted to GO! Let's have fun already!:yay: Once Madeline was fed, screened and dressed for some pool time we walked happily down to SAB to meet George and Amelia. Ahhh, Storm Along Bay, you have my heart.:cloud9: We spent a good 4 or 5 hours just enjoying that marvelous pool. Ian discovered the small water slide near the entrance to the big pirate ship water slide and went down it at least 30 times. The rest of us took turns braving the big water slide. We floated around the "lazy" river, which is actually about 8 feet deep. Since the temperatures were so high, the river was the most refreshing part of the pool. We dug our feet into the sandy pool bottom. We explored. Lunch was from Hurricane Hannah's. I can't remember what George got, but Amelia and Ian got grilled cheese kids meals and Madeline and I got the most delicious chicken wraps. We both had half left to save. I read a little. Perfect.:cloud9:

Interesting Disney Fact:
The "sand" used in Storm Along Bay is finely crushed granite.

I hate posting a picture of myself in a bathing suit, but in the interest of showing a picture of the lazy river and other's pool research, here it is.
Maddy's jumping in there because it's so deep.

We all went back up to the room finally, took short naps and showers and got ready for our dinner reservation right there in our own resort: Cape May Cafe! We were psyched for a clam bake.

We waited for just a few minutes after we checked in and then were led to our table. We really liked the airy, beachy feel of CMC and immediately got in line at the buffet. Or attempted to. The buffet situation was not cool. Except for some of the desserts, everything is set up in a rectangle. There were CMs directing people into lines for either salads, seafood or other entrees, but it felt a little mob like. Luckily, the crowds cleared out pretty quickly. The food was good. We got a couple of buckets of mussels and clams, and bunches of peel and eat shrimp. I'd seen pictures of crab legs in another TR, but there weren't any when we were there. Kids selections were fine, and the desserts were great! Oreo bon bons? Oh so good. And peanut butter blondies! Yumm-o! Once we were satisfied, we bid adieu to Cape May Cafe. How would we spend our evening? Hmmm. Decisions, decisions.

Next Post: How our "day off" evening was spent

What a great day!! At dinner tonight, out of the blue, DH says, "You know, I could stay at the Beach Club." :woohoo:

SAB sounds like great fun. Does the lazy river have tubes to borrow??

We too liked Cape May Cafe.

Can't wait to hear more.

I read through this whole TR yesterday. I am enjoying your stories and your pictures! :goodvibes

My family also says the signs mean "No Dancing"! :rotfl2:

I have stayed at the Yacht Club twice and the Beach Club once. I love it there! On trips when we weren't staying there, we had to go visit at least once to go to Beaches and Cream and just walk around and enjoy the place.

Ahhhh, I couldn't decide whether to smile or cry on this update! Of course all the pictures of SAB made me want to smile, but I also wanted to cry because I'm not there right now;) It truly is a little piece of heaven:cloud9: Sounds like a great day! I liked hearing about Cape May's dinner too because we only did breakfast there. Oh don't you just want to go back?:goodvibes

What a beautiful resort.... that pool area-- we have to stay there sometime.

Cape May is one of my favorites. We have not been there in a few trips, but I think it might just happen next trip.

Excited to see what happens that night.

I totally understand about dying to get out of the hotel room...even on a rest day I want to do something!

Oh what a wonderfully relaxing day! :cloud9:

Oh I want to be by the pool by at a Disney resort RIGHT NOW!

I really want to try Cape May Cafe. I love seafood!

Oh fun fun fun! Resort days are sooo great aren't they? Kinda conflicting though too because you have this tremendously fun resort you are staying at and want to experience and enjoy, but heck! You're in Disney World! Get out and do something!

We've been to Cape May twice for breakfast and really enjoyed it both times. Wonder how many pics of those chairs are out there on TRs?

Mmmmm, how did you spend your evening?
