April 20th--Day 5
Disney's Hollywood Studios
When I left off, we were just finishing up breakfast at Chef Mickey's and on our way to catch a bus for DHS. We didn't get to spend alot of time here last year. We visited it on our first day and it was so hot and so crowded that it was really hard to enjoy the park, not too mention although we love this park--it seems to have a weird layout to us. We always get turned around in this park....hmmm....maybe it's because we just haven't spent as much time here as the others. Who knows....
Anyways, since we knew we weren't going to be arriving right at opening, because of breakfast. The first thing we wanted to do when we got there was to grab fastpasses for Toy Story Mania. Upon entering the park, I took a quick picture walking in. The time stamp on my camera says 9:25am--
I immediately got in line for fastpasses for TSM but unfortunately the machine must have jammed or something because someone had to come over and fix it. I would have moved to another line but they were all pretty long, so I stayed put. (This was actually the second time this happened to me--it also happened when I was getting fastpasses for Soarin') I'm sure it happens alot though, with the amount of use they get. It was finally fixed and I could grab our fastpasses, return time said 11:42am. DS6 wanted to see Playhouse Disney, DS9 not so much. We had planned to separate at this point so DS9 could do something that he wanted to do but he ended up agreeing to see it so off we went to wait in line since the show started at 10:00am. Here is a pic of the outside of Playhouse Disney--
The show was cute overall especially if you loved these characters. DH did not like that we had to sit on the floor to watch but the rest of us didn't mind. It wasn't too bad except for the beginning when all we heard was "Can you move forward, please.", "Can you keep moving forward", "Forward, please" so it felt like you were being pushed into the people in front of you. I understand that they are trying to get as many people as they can in so they enjoy the show too.But....boy they really crowd you in.
Finally the show began--A few pics from Playhouse Disney---
DS enjoying the show....
My friends Tigger and Pooh.
After Playhouse Disney, we decided to check out the Animation Building for Meet and Greet. Our goal was to find the Incredibles who DS6 loves and had yet to see. But the boys also wanted to meet Bolt because they had just watched the movie on their last day before Easter break and loved it!!! So walking inside the first place we wandered over to was where the Incredibles were supposed to be--but...no Incredibles yet. I thought I checked the time?
DS was disappointed but once he saw Bolt, it was fine at least for the moment. We made our way over to the line to meet the Bolt characters, it was actually quite long and for one second looking over at Sorcerer Mickey who didn't seem to have a big line I thought maybe we should get out of line and see Mickey first and come back. But the line continued to grow behind us and we decided to stay put and hope for the best. We finally made it to the front of the line and here are a couple of pictures I took--
After waving good-bye to Bolt and Rhino, we made our way over to Sorcerer Mickey for some pics but of course now the line was much, much longer--So we decided to skip it for now, with the hopes of coming back later. But we did stop and let the boys play in the interactive area. We even joined in on the fun stopping to answer a few questions to find out what Disney character we were most like. DS6 was most like Buzz Lightyear, DS9 was most like Aladdin, DH was most like Goofy and for some reason I cannot remember who I was most like.....hmmm.... I'll have to ask the boys, they will remember.........Anyways here is some pictures that I took while they were playing....
On the way out, we stopped to see if The Incredibles were there yet--but no luck so we headed out. It was around 11:30 and we still had about 10 minutes before we could use our fastpasses for Toy Story Mania, so we stopped at a gift shop and looked for a sovenier for my friend's son who just loves Handy Manny. Unfortunately, I couldn't find what I was looking for, but it didn't matter because it was finally time to ride Toy Story Mania!!! We were very excited and wondering if it was going to live up to all the hype....hmmm.... Here's a few pics as we were heading inside--
It was so cool when we walked in, there was so much to see--
But unfortunately as quickly as we saw the sights--they were quickly gone as we turned to walk up the stairs. Don't get me wrong--I love fastpass, it's so awesome not to have to wait in line. But this was one time where I wish we would have rode first thing in the stand-by line to see all of the cool sights. We even missed talking Mr. Potato Head.
So my new strategy for riding this ride next time would be ride first thing--then grab fastpasses on the way out to ride again later....... Anyways on to the ride--here are the boys just before we got on the ride--
Sorry, I don't have any pictures of the actual ride or even our scores.... not that I would want to show mine anyway, since I never do well on these rides.
But I have to say how much we LOVED
this ride!! It was so much fun!! The boys couldn't stop talking about it!! They love Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin but after riding TSM--I think they both have a new favorite..
Next up--Lights, Motor, Action!!!!
