Jon and Kate non bash post

I HOPE the announcment is that the show is ending so that they can focus on the family and their marriage. Jon has been unhappy with the spotlight (although he loves the freebies) and there is no way their marriage can survive if they continue with their show, IMO.

I'm thinking this has been in the works all along. Let's be honest with the shows they have shown.
1) kick-off - had to address the Jon issue
2) Charm City Cakes - a link to another TLC show
3) Emeril - There was probably something in that contract that committed them to market/air it.
4) American Chopper - a link to another TLC show

I believe the show was planning to be cancelled all along and they were just limping it along to get the required shows out there. Yes, AC was filmed this spring but I'm sure it was in the works for awhile. I hope they do cancel the show so they can work on their marriage. Everyone that is married knows how hard it is. I can't imagine doing it with a TV camera and 8 kids!!

I wish them nothing but the best. They are a beautiful family that I hope can get everything back on track.

ETA: I believe it was TLC that was forcing their hand with their contract and not J&K pushing for more. At least that's what I want to hope.

I have nothing against Kate & Jon, I think they love their kids. I hope they can regain the love they once had for each other too.

I think it's a sad situation. Whether or not they brought it on themselves is moot to me. I also feel bad for Mady and Cara who must know, at the very least, that Jon and Kate aren't talking.

I really started watching the show during the marathon over Memorial Day weekend and just fell in love with the kids. I hope Jon & Kate are able to make it for their sake, but I honestly try not to pay too much attention to the drama.

Do you (no one specific, the general you ) think that Jon & Kate would announce on TV that they're divorcing? Really?

I sure hope they are not divorcing and hope they are not announcing it if they are. That is private. I hope they are announcing that the show is done for now while they work on healing the marriage and family. Maybe do an update show twice a year or something.

I still haven't seen the commercial, only heard about it here and there .. did they show Jon and Kate on the couch together? Jon was at the house at least one day this week, I'm wondering if they filmed something then?

No they didn't show them on the couch at all. If I remember correctly, I think they were just black and white shots of them outside (I think??? I don't know, it was late) I think only Kate spoke, and it was something to the affect that they've been having a rough time, it's something that's going to affect the whole family, and she said that hopefully it will give them both some peace. Then there's writing at the end that says Jon and Kate have an announcement, and it's a one hr. special on Monday.

ETA: Okay, sorry Madge I didn't see your youtube post until after, and obviously I was very wrong about the black and white...like I said it was late LOL.

I thought I read that they were going into Therapy, and they had to decide if they wanted to record and do tapings.
I'm betting they are going into Therapy, but since both have said, it is now a private matter, they won't show it, which is good. Otherwise, everyone would take sides and threads would even get uglier than most are already. I really hope they can work it out.
Both need guidance and help.

I bet you are right. I've heard of some of the theories. I just wonder if TLC has this built up as more dramatic than the news might be--I'm so untrusting of it all these days! I thought the commercial sounded choppy and super edited.

Entertainment Weekly says the announcement will be divorce. That they were trying to hold-off until mid-July but...

I really hope that this is wrong...if for nothing else for the kids.

Hi Doris,
I hope this thread does well because I enjoy discussing JK8 and while I'm not a lover of either of them, I do *like* Kate and often thinks she gets more grief than she deserves. Jon, I can't defend much so I need to stay mostly quiet about him.

Life is full of negativity and after I finished work tonight I saw that the other thread was going to wear me down in that department. While I enjoy seeing both sides and different sides of this, I do not enjoy the downright nasty posts that seem to come out of the blue.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were divorce I would just be surprised about it being aired on a tv show like that. I don't know why I would be surprised by anything on tv anymore but I would just think J and K would want more dignity then that I guess.

I watched the season premeire and Jon seemed complwtely done and checked out to me. I know kate kept saying she was angry but I just didn't see that, I saw remorse for alot of her past bhavior. To me jon is the one that seemed angry. Sometimes cheaters use anger to justify their actions. Now I don't know if he is or isn't, was or wasn't or the same for Kate but that is common in alot of cases of infidelity. Probably not all but it is common.
I am just sort of shocked by the other thread ripping apart Kates every outfit and hair day and such little heat for jon who at the very least was out partying with some girl he probably shouldn't of been with and off apparently with the same girl and some others on Kates birthday skiing. I don't think I find either one of them to be very appealing from what I have seen of the show but the hatred for Kate is just beyond belief to me. My DH used to watch the show from the beginning and now can't even watch it because of who they both have turned into. I never got the interest in it as I frankly found the kids to be so annoying I didn't want to watch. I have to admit I havee tuned in to see what is going on since all the threads on the Dis and magazine headlines and have watched reruns of the show. I don't feel guilty about that or like I am contributing to the demise of a family by tuning in. I wish it would work out for them but I just don't see that happening, for a variety of reasons, none of which are nice to either of them.
