Well, here it is! The Camster0307, Karajeboo & podsnel joint TR of DISMOMS gone Wild!!! It took place May 16th to May 20th 2009 and included the AMAZING Mammoth May Meet of tons of DISGEEKS in lime green shirts, drinking grey goose slushies in France with Sleeping Beauty! It also included AKV Concierge, with a Sunset safari and more laughing in the rain than singing!! Here's a link to the PTR for all the backround info, in case you're new to our saga-

I was the first to arrive, so I guess I'll start off....
I flew down on the 7:30 am flight out of Newark, NJ bright and early (actually it was dark and early when I got up, but whatever...) on Continental. I had booked myself into 1st class when I bought my ticket, because that's the ONLY way I'll fly. KIDDING!!! Actually the upgrade was only $50, so I did it for the flight down! The plane had been changed to a plane they usually use for overseas flights, so 1st class was VERY comfy- the seat pretty much turned into a bed. Ahhhhhh....
There is NOTHIN' wrong with that! In a little over 2 hours I was on the ground sending TMs and Pix to my girls from the ME-
Yay! AKL!! I have DVC, and most of our points are at AKV, so I was able to score a concierge studio for 3 nights- which is HUGE because there are not very many of them AT ALL- only 5 to 10, depending on how you break it up. So, my DGF, Lonnie, who I originally planned this trip with, decided to book a Value studio on cash for the 1st night- that way, we could go on the sunrise safari on Sunday morning (which was INCREDIBLE, but more on that later!).
Anyway, by 11:30 I was all checked in, and Lonnie was pulling up outside (she was driving in from Gainesville). Perfect timing, just like on our trip to SSR last year!!! We had already made plans to go and have lunch at DTD before our Spa appointments at SSR, all of which was before hooking up with Cammie & Kara in DTD at about 5:00.
It is Ba-LLOON!
We wanted to have lunch at WPE, because I had LOVED it there on my trip with DH & kids back in November.
I really, really wanted to have the chinois salad, because my DH had had it in Nov and it was incredible. Unfortunately, that was not the case for me- it was like eating a giant bowl of cabbage with 3 specks of chicken-
Here, chickie, chickie...come out come out wherever you are!
Lonnie ordered the butternut squash soup- THAT was delicious, so glad my girlie shares!
And she got a salad, which included a freakin gallon of dressing-
BLECH! Oh well, every restaurant can have an off day- it just stinks when you're the one who has to experience it. We were off to check out some of the shops, ESPECIALLY Tren-D, which was really, really cool. On the way...
You can have fried shrimp, broiled shrimp, boiled shrimp, stuffed shrimp, shrimp cocktail, shrimp etouffe, shrimp in garlic, shrimp and grits...
Here's Tren-D, where I saw about 50 things in a matter of 5 minutes that I wanted to buy!! Very unique merchandise in that store, we both loved it-
We had thought we would be back later in the trip and we would make some purchases then, as we had to get over to SSR for some Spa stuff...
We both had pedicures scheduled- I love getting a pedicure with a friend, because I hate just sitting there. So it was nice Lonnie & I had more time to catch up.
The pedicures were very, very nice. They both did a great job. We had about a half hour break before we went for our massages- I got the mystical therapies again (just like last year) because I think that might be my favorite treatment EVER! It's 25 minutes of swedish massage followed by 25 minutes of reflexology. I had been awake since 4 am, and I felt like I was having an out-of-body experience with this one- really, it was FABULOUS! Lonnie got an 80 minute hot stone massage and she said it was beyond heaven. I really like that SSR spa- it is top notch. Since my treatment was quicker than Lonnie's, I wandered around for a bit.
I wonder what she's having done?
Inside the ladies' locker room-
I went outside to sit by the pool and wait, getting texts from C & K that they were already boozin it up at ASMu!! It was REALLY hot out at that pool, AND they had a power failure, so noone was allowed to swim. So it was pretty empty over at that pool. But it was fixed pretty quickly. I however, couldn't swim no matter what since I didn't have a suit with me, so I went into the spa lobby to wait for Lonnie. You know how so many people say SSR's furnishings kind of look like their furniture at home? Well, I guess I am now one of them- I actually have the same end table in my great room. Who knew Disney shopped at Thomasville??
Lonnie came out- unfortunately her toes got a little wonky during her massage, but it wasn't too terrible, so we hopped on the boat to meet our DISmoms at the Margarita stand-
YAY!! The DISmoms are all getting together!!! I'm meeting Kara for the first time!!!! Uh-oh- what if she's as crazy as everyone says????!!!!! Stay tuned to find out!!
