Well, here it is! The Camster0307, Karajeboo & podsnel joint TR of DISMOMS gone Wild!!! It took place May 16th to May 20th 2009 and included the AMAZING Mammoth May Meet of tons of DISGEEKS in lime green shirts, drinking grey goose slushies in France with Sleeping Beauty! It also included AKV Concierge, with a Sunset safari and more laughing in the rain than singing!! Here's a link to the PTR for all the backround info, in case you're new to our saga-

    http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2163372

I was the first to arrive, so I guess I'll start off....

I flew down on the 7:30 am flight out of Newark, NJ bright and early (actually it was dark and early when I got up, but whatever...) on Continental. I had booked myself into 1st class when I bought my ticket, because that's the ONLY way I'll fly.:snooty: KIDDING!!! Actually the upgrade was only $50, so I did it for the flight down! The plane had been changed to a plane they usually use for overseas flights, so 1st class was VERY comfy- the seat pretty much turned into a bed. Ahhhhhh....

There is NOTHIN' wrong with that!:thumbsup2 In a little over 2 hours I was on the ground sending TMs and Pix to my girls from the ME-

Yay! AKL!! I have DVC, and most of our points are at AKV, so I was able to score a concierge studio for 3 nights- which is HUGE because there are not very many of them AT ALL- only 5 to 10, depending on how you break it up. So, my DGF, Lonnie, who I originally planned this trip with, decided to book a Value studio on cash for the 1st night- that way, we could go on the sunrise safari on Sunday morning (which was INCREDIBLE, but more on that later!).
Anyway, by 11:30 I was all checked in, and Lonnie was pulling up outside (she was driving in from Gainesville). Perfect timing, just like on our trip to SSR last year!!!:yay: We had already made plans to go and have lunch at DTD before our Spa appointments at SSR, all of which was before hooking up with Cammie & Kara in DTD at about 5:00.

    It is Ba-LLOON!

We wanted to have lunch at WPE, because I had LOVED it there on my trip with DH & kids back in November.

I really, really wanted to have the chinois salad, because my DH had had it in Nov and it was incredible. Unfortunately, that was not the case for me- it was like eating a giant bowl of cabbage with 3 specks of chicken-

Here, chickie, chickie...come out come out wherever you are!

Lonnie ordered the butternut squash soup- THAT was delicious, so glad my girlie shares!

And she got a salad, which included a freakin gallon of dressing-

BLECH! Oh well, every restaurant can have an off day- it just stinks when you're the one who has to experience it. We were off to check out some of the shops, ESPECIALLY Tren-D, which was really, really cool. On the way...

You can have fried shrimp, broiled shrimp, boiled shrimp, stuffed shrimp, shrimp cocktail, shrimp etouffe, shrimp in garlic, shrimp and grits...

Here's Tren-D, where I saw about 50 things in a matter of 5 minutes that I wanted to buy!! Very unique merchandise in that store, we both loved it-

We had thought we would be back later in the trip and we would make some purchases then, as we had to get over to SSR for some Spa stuff...

We both had pedicures scheduled- I love getting a pedicure with a friend, because I hate just sitting there. So it was nice Lonnie & I had more time to catch up.

The pedicures were very, very nice. They both did a great job. We had about a half hour break before we went for our massages- I got the mystical therapies again (just like last year) because I think that might be my favorite treatment EVER! It's 25 minutes of swedish massage followed by 25 minutes of reflexology. I had been awake since 4 am, and I felt like I was having an out-of-body experience with this one- really, it was FABULOUS! Lonnie got an 80 minute hot stone massage and she said it was beyond heaven. I really like that SSR spa- it is top notch. Since my treatment was quicker than Lonnie's, I wandered around for a bit.

I wonder what she's having done?

    Inside the ladies' locker room-
    [IMG]

I went outside to sit by the pool and wait, getting texts from C & K that they were already boozin it up at ASMu!! It was REALLY hot out at that pool, AND they had a power failure, so noone was allowed to swim. So it was pretty empty over at that pool. But it was fixed pretty quickly. I however, couldn't swim no matter what since I didn't have a suit with me, so I went into the spa lobby to wait for Lonnie. You know how so many people say SSR's furnishings kind of look like their furniture at home? Well, I guess I am now one of them- I actually have the same end table in my great room. Who knew Disney shopped at Thomasville??

Lonnie came out- unfortunately her toes got a little wonky during her massage, but it wasn't too terrible, so we hopped on the boat to meet our DISmoms at the Margarita stand-

YAY!! The DISmoms are all getting together!!! I'm meeting Kara for the first time!!!! Uh-oh- what if she's as crazy as everyone says????!!!!! Stay tuned to find out!!

Woo Hoo! :cool1: Let's get this party started! :cool1:

Nice flight down. So envious, since I'll be flying southwest om a few weeks. I'm always so bored and fidgety when I fly- I would love to have a TV and a reclining chair.

    Cant' wait to read more!

Got some crazy FL weather right now.... as in RAIN!!!! Bad storms all around so don't know how much I'll be able to post....

    Anywho....

As I sat at my subdivision pool watching DD's first swim team practice, I starting getting texts. LOTS of texts, from both Ellen and Cammie. I was all packed and loaded up, just waiting to pull out and make the 2 1/2 hr drive from the Jacksonville area to my favorite home away from home.....

But first, my baby girl, Ally..... 8 going on 18 - oy vey!!!!

DH, Jeff was a bit concerned. His wife was driving to Disney to meet up with chicks she had never met before (except for Cammie who I met once for lunch at MK back in November) - he said I was a 20/20 episode waiting to happen..... and yes, my life insurance was paid up just in case Ellen and Cammie turned out to be axe wielding serial killers posing as moms loving Disney....

I finally got the message that Ellen had just arrived in Orlando, and Cammie was boarding her flight out of Boston. Time to get on the road. Besides, I wanted to stop at the Crocs outlet in St Augustine on the way.

First, must strap flat Ally into her seat for the trip.....

I arrived at the magical gates, right about the time Cammie texted me that she had landed in Orlando. Right on time!

Now, as the self proclaimed Upgrade Queen, I was really counting on getting upgraded from ASMU to, say, Poly? Nothing big, just a slight upgrade......
Cammie and I booked ASMU for the first night, then we planned on checking in to Ellen's sofabed the next day. Sponges? Yup! That we are! :thumbsup2

But alas, my upgrade mojo was not working, so I checked us into our room at ASMU and we were waaaaaaay in the back in the rock section. Now since I had never stayed at any of the All Stars, I took lots of pics.

Our room was very clean and served us well - we used it to sleep and shower. Perfect!

A couple of pics around the pool area.

I am woman, hear me ROAR!!!! :rotfl2:

FINALLY, Cammie pulled up on ME, and as soon as we dumped off her stuff in our room, it was time for the first of many of these.....

Slow down Cammie!!!!! There's lots more where that came from! :lmao:

We were finally ready to start our DISmoms gone WILD trip!!! Time to head to DTD to meet Ellen and Lonnie.

Cammie did mention that security did not allow her to bring her axe, so one down, two to go...... would I really be safe? Was Ellen for real? Was Lonnie a real Gator fan, and if so, could I really share a room with her, with me being a diehard Ohio State Buckeye?

These questions to be answered in our next episode of DISMOMS GONE WILD!!!!!

I would just like to state (for the record) that Kara was so well behaved (well, mostly;) that I left my ax and chainsaw packed away for most of the trip....I of course, was able to finagle them onto the plane, being I was in first class, and all. However...there was that one night of Kara's snoring that nearly drove me over the edge......:scared: Thank God our room was so close to the witnesses...Ummm..I mean- the concierge lounge! It REALLY made me stop and think!

And ps Kara- you look great in your bikini!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I am looking forward to writing one of these with YOU one day!!!:thumbsup2

The BEST!!! It was an AWESOME meet!!!! And who doesn't love a little Aurora in their day???:goodvibes

    Cool!:cool1:

I KNOW! I get very figety, too...being treated extra special REALLY passes the time! I even got to watch one of my favorite movies (well, part, after another), Breakfast at Tiffany's, and I was in heaven!:cloud9: And I watched the rest on the plane home- very nice!

Well THAT is the BEST thing to EVER hear! Thanks!!!:goodvibes So glad you're here!:thumbsup2

Yea, that store DESERVES our hard-earned cash, just for originality. So nice to see cool, one-of-a-kind-but-affordable-stuff at WDW. You will love it, I'm sure!

Live that you are going to read and respond!!:)

Really? Could you explain them to me? Because I am STILL confused!!!:lmao:

OMG! Did I really snore??? Consider that my defense mechanism..... ;)

Bikini? Who said bikini? Cause whenever I mention bikini at home I get :scared1: from Ally and :rotfl2: from Jeff. Needless to say, I don't think the bikini will be coming out THIS summer! But someday.......

However, if Wild Cat Woman (from this point forward knows as WCW) can pull it off....... or did she? :rolleyes1

Oh, and I loved Tren-D!!!! I'm thinking of making that my first stop at DTD from now on. Loved the styles in there!!!!! Just a little different from everything you see at the parks.

Snored like a truck driver! When we were all awake in the middle of the night from it we would often discuss how amazing it was you could really push that decible level up there, when you in fact appear to be such a dainty and petite thing!:rotfl2:

And who's WCW??? I thought that was YOU! ;):lmao:
