I for one would be happy to make extra FE gifts for any latecomers. We had late sign ups on my last cruise and it wasn't any trouble to make a few more.

Having a few extra isn't a big deal for me either. It has always amazed me the number of folks that join the thread a few weeks before we sail. If I do the same thing on both trips (LindaBabe, I will see that you have something different for the double dip) it will be easy to deal with.

Its is nice to know that you ladies will help us out with that. We will see how things go as the time passes by. I just felt that I didnt want to leave anyone out that wants to join in. And thought it would be a good idea to have people that signed up after the close of the list wil just go into a group together. NO worries...

My gift is already being made and takes time so I have to have some time to get it together prior to the trip.

Our group has now increased to 3 cabins and 10 people. We are planning on getting tshirts to wear when boarding anyone have ideas where to order ones. I think last time we used Dazzle but didnt know if anyone had better website.

you took the words right out of my brain! Are you staying in the same cabin for both cruises? I'm SO excited about the cruises - even though there's a new wrinkle in my planning - just diagnosed with Diabetes, which is sure going to put a crimp in my plans to eat my way through the dessert menu!

Wracking my brain what to make - last year's were SUCH a pain to make, I will never do that again. (Filmstrip bookmarks with photos in the picture holes and then laminated.) I always make extra, but when they're gone, they're gone.

PS. LOVE Ahoy, St. Croix! Traci, you are so clever! Maybe you'd like to think up titles for my scrapbook pages? Mine tend to be kinda dull.

Yes, we are in the same cabin - are you? I can't wait. And sorry about your diabetes. One word of encouragement though - DH was diagnosed with it and got control with diet and medication (not shots but pills) and he is not off the pills and can control it with just diet. He has never had a sweet tooth, unlike me, but has pasta/bread issues but has learned to manage (for the most part). I have never been a huge fan of DCL's desserts but absolutely LOVE Mickey bars. DH ate many of the sugar free options and enjoyed them, there are usually two options each night as I remember.

Sorry to hear about your new diagnosis of diabetes. It will take some time to adjust but I'm sure you will do just fine. I am a scrapbooker too. Nice to hear you are too. I do like the Ahoy St. Croix. If everyone else likes it to it can be our Group name. I would like to see if on T-shirts and braclets for us. ANyway just wanted to say hello and give you a hug.

I am not so sure I would wear the other graphic all over the front of a tshirt (but will enlarge and put on the back) but if this one can be reduced to put on the upper left on the front, that would make for a really kewl shirt I think. It would also look great on the sleeve. Oh Zazzle.........

I do not know about resizing it...sorry...but I'm, sure it can be done. Maybe someone else is better with that kind of stuff. It looks big but I have seen the design on someone's t-shirt and it looked great. It can also be used as a door magnet.

That is really cute!

Just wanted to pop back in and say hello to our fellow cruisers. I know, I haven't been around much but life has been busy. I'm excited to see all the newcomers and about all the early chatter for the FE exchange.

Seven months to our cruise still seems like so far away but I know it'll be here before we know it. AND, for a little fun, we just might be hopping aboard a 4-night Wonder cruise on Memorial Day weekend! WOO HOO! The FL resident rates are great and we just may have some family members and/or neighbors with us. I'm sooooo *bad* about spreading my love for DCL..... I've dragged many families down the road to DCL hysteria!!

I'll get caught up on all these posts. Just wanted to say Hi! Hope everyone had a nice Easter.

Thanks for the nice words..I was affraid to post my ideas thought people would laugh at me. Anyway whatever everyone wants is fine with me. There are only a couple of us that post on here a lot right now and i am sure people will post more as the time gets closer. I started working on my FE gift tonight and it looks very nice!!!!!

Sadly I was reading another thread where someone booked a cruise late and wanted to sign up for the FE and they were rude to her. I couldnt believe it. My thought to this is we have people sign up but like I suggested and close up signs ups one month prior. But those that want to sign up late can be in a group with the people that signed up after the close of the list. What do you guys think? I dont want to exclude anyone but understand that people need to get a head count and shop,make things for the exchange. Anyway just let me know what you think. Its late and im going to bed.

The FE late sign up sounds good to me. I think we have a small enough group on this list (at least as of now) that it won't really matter anyway.

Regarding the logos: I can resize anything!!! I am also going to work on another logo too.

You are so good.. thanks for the offer to help us with the logo. It would be nice to change the name but how do we do that too. I thought the person who orignally posted first was able to go back and correct their post but I dont know. Seems like I dont know much these days. Sorry. Let us know what design you come up with. I am very interested in others skills at the computer and the neat things they come up with.

Ahoy St. Croix - that's a great logo! Thanks for coming up with it, and it's great to see everyone's enthusiasm.

I agree with the idea of putting a deadline for the FE signup just because I'm a planner (that's why we're all on this board right?) and I'd find it stressful to be making FE gifts at the last minute, especially if there was a dramatic increase in the number of people signing up (I have no idea if this happens on other cruises, this one is my first). But if latecomers want to arrange a separate FE (if I'm correct in my interpretation of what GoofyTraci said) then by all means they should have at it. I think I've read in other threads that if the FE group was really big, sometimes they ended up dividing it into smaller groups anyway.

Lindababe - sorry to hear of your diagnosis. It's been 10 years for me since finding out for myself, and not a day goes by that I don't curse it, but it is at least manageable, it just takes time to make lifestyle and diet adjustments. I'm glad to hear there are sugar free options on the ship! Feel free to PM me if you would like to chat.
