"Will they keep this/cancel that" We are now Live from WDW, the Nicki & Todd show!

I was so sad there for a little bit -- I never got a chance to try the french toast loaf; I loved the Mickey gingerbread men -- but then you showed me pics of the new Celebration fudge, and I am happy again! I love fudge and can't wait to try it!!!

Are the souvenir popcorn buckets celebration themed as well? I couldn't quite see what it was in your photos.

Our popcorn bucket is the old one from the last 2 years but DH is already planning on more popcorn at Epcot tomorrow, maybe we will get the new one? Todd loved the celebration fudge....he said its a party in the mouth :rotfl2:

Lots to catch up on, y'all have been very busy!

We love the burgers at Sci-Fi, haven't had the o-rings yet, I always thought they looked greasy. But if Nicki says they're not, they'll be on my must do list!:thumbsup2

We almost had dinner at The Wave last year but opted to go back to Fulton's for a second time, the menu at The Wave just didn't appeal to us. Now it's back on my list!:goodvibes

I'm sad about the French Toast Loaf at MSB, I never got to try it.:sad1:

You guys seem to be having a great time as always!

You know, before I tried it I would have ditched Wave for a second round at Fultons..but since I have fallen for the Wave I cannot imagine skipping it!......that salad, oh my!

No more french toast loaf? :sad1:  That's not fair, I haven't had it yet :headache: The kids shared it & a cinnamon roll in December but since DH was sick, we didn't get to MK early enough to get it :headache:

Gotta say, the tacos & fixings bar do nothing for me :confused3 CHH is really good though :thumbsup2 The salad looked very yummy :goodvibes

As for our summer plans, well :rolleyes1 127 days to go we're well outside of the 90 day ADR mark so nothing is "planned" planned. HBD is a must for DH (and the rest of us), The Wave is on our list of "want to try" and Raglan Road (might save that for F&W though) other than that, I'm not sure. DH & I will have one special meal for our anniversary, but we haven't decided what yet. Maybe Bistro, or Flying Fish or ???

We've never been to Tony's, so guess I'll have to wait till tonight to see if we want to add that to our list

I cannot wait to hear all about your reviews, especially Raglan Road because I have had that on our last two trips but ditched it for something else....I hope to get to it in October....maybe... :lmao:

OMG!!! I can't believe they retired the French Toast Loaf!!! :scared1:

That was the ONLY thing my picky DS5 ate at the Main St. Bakery, he's the only child I know that doesn't like breakfast pastries! But he LOVED the French Toast Loaf! Funny thing is, DS2 will eat a muffin the size of his head! :rotfl: DS5 won't touch them!

I'm going to have to plan something else now. We can't go there. He really won't eat anything (he a waffle, french toast, pancake kid :))

Oooh, Nick, he loved the gingerbread men tooo. How can they do this to a five year old!! All his favorites!!!!:sad2:

I'm so sad. :sad1:

Hon I am on a darn mission for those gingerbread cookies...we are going to Germany tomorrow and I remember them being there and at Goofy's in DTD...we are going to DTD on Sunday before we head home.
I will keep you posted...never say MickeyNicki goes down without a fight!

:sad2: BUT I never got to try that french toast loaf!!! not fair Disney
everything looked good I want one of those egg rolls, sure I can get them cheaper at the carry out here but everything tastes better at Disney :rotfl:

you don't sound like an old woman for complaining about the neighbors, i'm 21 and would be sooooo mad at them , the Poly isn't cheap you should be able to have peace and quiet :headache:

I am back from the pool, woke up the sleeping giant and we are now getting showered and dressed for dinner. Going to Tony's, do some Main Street shopping and catch the fireworks and then the Tambu Lounge for a nightcap. There is a photopass person in the lobby of the Poly everynight so far and I want to get some pics done before dinner, while I am still purty and presentable :lmao: and not slurring my words :rotfl:

Just a note, there were very very few Photopass people on Main Street this morning, the few we saw had a line of people waiting for their turn. Also, did not see many characters out and about and again, hardly any photo people. Many snack and drink stands were not open.

There is a new pizza stand next to the Haunted Mansion but they never opened, poor DH wanted to try it. Another weird thing, they have corn dogs in Adventureland for $4 and corndogs in Frontierland for $3.50, my question is why a price difference? Are the olden days cheaper than the rain forest?

Have not seen anyone around picking up trash with the huge tongs, no attendants in the bathrooms but they were clean, hardly anyone taking surveys, Noodle Station is closed, the number or cash registers in the CS places are small....only a few stands open and they did have lines.

You can see the cutbacks but it isnt huge...not enough to make you not want to come here you know.

The TS places are very very dead tho, we did 3 yesterday and they were empty. The sign at Main Street said CP, Tonys and The Plaza all had openings for lunch and dinner and this was at 1pm when we left MK.

Wonder how busy the rest of our TS places will be?

I'm so sad the French toast loaf is no longer available! I was looking forward to trying that in May. I'm surprised they had so many openings. I have been trying to change around a few of my ressies and haven't been able to get any good times. I wonder if its just slow this time of year anyway. Thank you for your reviews and I hope you have a very nice dinner at Tony's tonight.

Two weeks ago, my DH had a Mickey head gingerbread cookie with chocolate ears at Goofy's (next to Starring Rolls) at DHS...not a gingerbread man, but still good and worth a try!

Nicki :wave2: I read your last DR when you had your nieces with you (wonderful report!) - I'm kicking myself :headache: for not seeing you were doing another DR! I've read back - great updates! Thank you for taking pictures of the menus (especially those that show the DDP symbol, very helpful for us DDP virgins!), the great food/drinks and sharing your experiences with us

Looking forward to the next gourmet installment... popcorn::

So sad about the french toast loaf :( Just please tell me that the cute guy Hector still works there?? LOL. Have fun tonight!

Great reviews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

Can't wait for your CM breakfast! We have breakfast there in two weeks!

I am bummed about it too! Tonight was the same, many many empty tables and they were taking walk ups...I think that most people are just doing CS and saving the money. We have noticed that there are a ton of gift shops offering 25-40% off toys and souveniers and there are a lot of clothes on sale too!

I hope I find some before I leave!

Glad the pics help, I am trying not to cut off the DP symbol

Firgure it was only fair since you are the reason I have to change my ADR's around for September.

I didnt notice, it was all ladies and one male manager this morning, I hope they have a change of heart and bring it back by the fall

Loving the reviews! I live in NJ so know Stewarts Root Beer well!:thumbsup2

Glad you like em!

Great reviews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

Well you can probably guess this was coming but DH wants to cancel the heavy breakast in lieu of CS and then have a nice TS at DTD before we go...I have not cancelled it yet because I think he may change his mind again, after all he is the one that wanted it in the first place!

Just go back with a drink in hand...loading pics now. As we were walking down the hall to our room you could hear the loud music blaring from the room next to me. We entered our room and all you can hear is music, kids screaming and yelling, running around and doors slamming like crazy...they even opened their adjoining door and were rapping on our door!

Now I am not a crabby witch lady but this went on last night until midnight (and I called to complain then) and this afternoon while DH was chilling out, these kids are not knocking off the crap. Not having kids myself I suppose we are more sensitive to it but when I was here with the nieces I made sure they did not disrupt other people around us, why some parents cant do the same is beyond me. I guess there are 4 pre-teenish kids in the room next to us with the parents in the adjoining room. I called the front desk and said nicely, I understand this is a vacation but we are on vacation too and paid very well for this room...if you cannot get these people to cut the crap please send someone up here to move us ASAP...she apologized and said she would send security to speak to the parents....within 10 minutes the place is drop dead quiet.

Now I love the Poly but I am reminded why we really prefer the YC and BWI...total peace and quiet! Next time we journey to the Poly I will request a far off building on the top floor with no neighbors! ;)

Oh and BTW you can flame away if you need to, I understand and do not take offense. Nothing but love here..... ;)

On to dining reviews in a minute :cutie:

Nope I have two small kids and ITA with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate loud little annoying kids. I do. Really really do. I would have complained too. DH would be calling ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dinner at Tonys! We have tried many many many times to get in with no luck..they were always booked and never took walk ins. We had a dinner ressie with the girls in January but cancelled it. Tonight we were in! And guess what? They were taking walk ins and the place was not full at all.

We were seated a bit early, nothing left outside but we had a nice seat inside. A bit loud in here but nothing worse than a Carrabbas or Outback (noise wise).

Here are the menus:

Jan25051-1.jpg

To start we had a Sprite and an ice tea. The server was great, lots of cute hotties in here! Very attentive and polite...totally different from the Lurch we had this past Oct at lunch..and we saw him too!!!

The bread was eh...DH ate it but it was nothing special at all...dried out and tasteless. The olive oil was blech too...no body to it, but again DH ate it.

Jan25052-1.jpg

We shared the calamari, it was awesome! Tender and sweet and not greasy, the breading was a nice light crisp type and the olive pepper relish was the best! Would def get this again! Plenty for the two of us.

Jan25054-1.jpg

We also shared the caesar salad (what?? Todd didnt want the tomato mozzarella???) and it was killer, huge serving, nice and crisp and cold and very very good...except the croutons were so salty you couldnt eat them and that is usually the best part of a caesar!

Jan25055-1.jpg

DH had the spaghetti with meatballs....pasta cooked perfect, the meatballs were huge but very good (needed more basil and parm cheese for me) and sauce was good (I am very picky about the "gravy") but DH loved it and ate almost the entire plate...the portions are huge. Now DH loves Olive Garden (I know, he marries a very nice Italian girl who cooks like the Picasso paints but he likes OG?) and he said this was a notch better than that.

Jan25057-1.jpg

I am a garlic lover so I had to get the shrimp scampi, hold the sun dried tomatoes. It was very very good but I needed more garlic. There was a ton of al dente pasta, 11 shrimp the size of a 50 cent piece and very tender and skinny asparagus. The shrimp were fantastic, cooked perfect and nice and sweet. I could not believe how many were in there! Our server loaded us with parm cheese and left a plate for us too.

Jan25060-1.jpg

DH had a coffee, he said it was fresh and good...I will take his word for it :rotfl: We decided to share the tiramisu because nothing else wowed us and we knew we didnt like the lemon walnut cake. The tiramisu was nice and light and flavorful...very good stuff!

I honestly do not know why this place gets such a big thumbs down but we really enjoyed it. Todd said to tell you "Gourmet it aint but it gets the job done and we will be back" Like I said, I am an Italian chick and I enjoyed it! But.....we still prefer Tutto for our Italian in WDW. Hey for $60 for the 2 of us (on the TIW card) it was a deal!

No flames here. I've actually got much LESS patience with that kind of crap since becoming a parent, because I know just how avoidable that kind of behaviour is if the parents are paying attention. :headache:

Originally we planned on watching the fireworks from Main Street but we decided on going back to the Poly to watch them from the beach. This was a much better idea!

The Celtics were playing so it was hard to find a seat at the Tambu but we scored 2 right by the tv (Boston babe at heart) and DH ordered that lemonade thing again...it is so dangerously good! I ordered the Island Sunset which has orange, pineapple, peach, guava juices with Parrot's Bay, Capt Morgans and a few other boozy things and it was heaven! We sipped our way through round one and took round 2 to go back to the room!

Jan25067-1.jpg

Tomorrow we are planning on breakfast at Capt Cooks and then heading to Epcot for the day...probably wont get a break in the afternoon so we may start late. The man who requested lunch at San Angel Inn asked to cancel it (hence the title to my thread) and honestly I am glad because I cannot imagine going to Epcot and not eating at Tangierine Cafe! Dinner is at Le Cellier, have not been there in over 2 years!

Oh yeah...and booze, lots of booze!

Night all!

If we ever dared do that as kids my mom would have smacked us in the back of the head and been done with us! :lmao:

Glad you liked Tony's. We like it too. We do prefer lunch when we go only because dinner is always so crowded and we feel rushed and the portions are huge. At lunch it is a little more leisurely and the portions are smaller so that I can eat my dessert! :)

Can't wait for you review on LeCellier. It is the ONE place I will not let you delete when you pick my ADR's. :lmao:

I've got a 2 and 4 year old and they know better than that behavior.. I think for preteens not to know to act like that means parents who haven't been teaching them much respect or parents who have lost control over their own children which is sad.. vacation is good and all but it doesn't mean a total loss of good behavior and manners thats so annoying!!! Good for you for calling them. and I agree with someone before me I think a parent would have probably been crabbier I know unnecessary bad behavior bothers me more since I have kids :lmao:

Tony's looks good! Glad it was enjoyable, I lol'd at the plate of parm I know that when I go to Italian restaurants I always want more cheese looks like Tony's knows their guests!!

Great review of Tony's. I wish I could be tasting that shrimp dish right now. Oh and that Island Sunset looks sooooo good. :goodvibes We always go to Ohana our last night at the world then take a drink to the beach to watch the fireworks. I love it. :)
