I am wanting to stay at CSR but am wondering, how the best way to make my room request in hopes of guaranteeing a renovated room?
There are no guarantees. So few have been done in relation to the whole resort. Check out post #1 in this thread for up to date info.

We are booked for a water view room. However I would really like something convienant with the kids....close to the main area/food and a bus stop.

Which areas would I request? Where do I fax it and how soon before my trip?

TIA!

Just returned from our stay dec. 22-30th.
We got casita 1 room 1450 (fourth floor room 50), it was a newly reno'd room. Lovely beds, really comfy. Lovely flat screen t.v to watch stacey on!! and the bathroom was great....same as old but new curved rod which makes it seem more spacious.
It was nice being close to the main building and food area but we were far from everything else. We have never stayed in a room that far from a quiet pool, laundry or main pool!
When we stayed at POR in march we were around the corner from a quiet pool, across a bridge from the main pool and just as close to the main bldg. Here was a hike to everything, and the bus stop 2 was past the laundry so a further hike.
The laundry room was a filthy place, I'm sure the laundromat in my town is cleaner than that!! Also at least 4 dryers never actually dried clothes.
the elevators in our area were filthy also, the floor was peeling, it was dirty and the sign on the back wall inside the elevator was peeled off and looked a mess the whole time. There was always garbage around the lawns and walkways that I have never seen at other resorts.
I was disappointed that the pools weren't open before 8am.
I just thought it was lacking in disney magic. It was fine but that was all.
Housekeeping was awful. We were missed one day totally and I had to ask for 3 days for kleenex as we never had any, nor did we have paper so I had to write the housekeepers notes on napkins!! 2 days mousekeeping never even took my tip envelopes.
The main pool was nice, we went there every afternoon and it was nice.
I wish the arcade was in the main building and not in the pool area.
I wouldn't stay here again, I would stay at POP before here again. POP was always immaculate.
My favorite is CBR so far with POR a close second.
anyhow just my 2 cents.
It was over 80 everyday except our first day and that was still warm so that made up for any issues I had really.

Thanks for the responses. Its good to know that if we're in the mood for a bigger breakfast, we can probably get in.
Here's the menu.

Maya Grill Menu
Breakfast

I enjoyed my breakfast at the MG. Very good for the price compared to other breakfast buffets at WDW.

I just read that someone had a wonderful stay in Cabana 9B. Is 9B available as a regular room presently or is it club level. :confused3

Thanks

The opening of the club level rooms in cabana 9b may be on hold. Some people are reporting that they have been offered free upgrades to other concierge resorts for their club level reservations at CSR.

Turns out the soft opening of CSR concierge rooms didn't go as planned and they will be revamping a bit. For the foreseeable future, CSR will only use the rooms as Business Club Level for convention groups that book those rooms. Otherwise they will be used for leisure guests but the lounge will not be open to them.

So I don't know if foreseeable future means forever or until they straighten out the kinks since the concierge rooms didn't go as planned and they are going back to the drawing board.

We will be staying at CSR on 9/19 and planned to get water, diapers(we have twins) etc.. from garden grocer but recently heard that they charge
$5.oo per item delivered??? Has anyone encountered this? and if so, what is the best way to bring/get things to our room? I don't mind paying a fee but $5 for every package may get hefty with the larger items I plan on getting this is also the same reason why I don't want to bring it in my suitcase(now that there charging so much for checked bags)!
Thanks in advance:goodvibes
I also wanted to say Thank you to Buzz and katmark for all the informative info you supply to this board your the reason we are staying at CSR! Thank you for all the time you devot to it:hug:

My pleasure. I can't answer about the delivery as we always have a car and stop for items for the room. However, did find this on the dining section and Pepper Market, etc., are on the Dining Plan! HOORAY!!!! :cool1:

My understanding of the charge is that CSR charges for items delivered by Fedex and UPS, not items that are delivered to the resort in person like Garden Grocer or A Baby's Best Friend.

A few girlfriends and I are planning on a trip for this coming October, and I think we're leaning towards staying at CSR.
I'm pretty excited about the spa...a nice massage would be heavenly after a few days in the parks.

I always get a massage just a little past the midway point of our trip at the CSR and I feel great for the remainder of the trip. Have them concentrate on your legs and lower back--it's amazing how refreshed you will feel. :goodvibes

First let me say, AWESOME site!! :worship:

I have a few questions. We chose CSR because it was a conveniton resort. While we will be vacationing, DH will still need to take several conference calls for his business and I will be finishing my thesis:crazy2: . We asumed that because it was a convention resort that it would have wifi. However, my BIL just returned and said that they still had the wire connections in the rooms and had no signs of wifi :scared1:. While on this thought, do you know if they have a business center that has a fax and printer?

While we are in the Orlando area, my DH's step brother and his family would like to visit. How does one visit a WDW resort for a day? Would they be able to use the pool? We also noticed that the beach rental will be closed during our visit. Does tihs mean that we can not rent boats or bikes? :sad1: I sure hope not. This was one of the selling points.

One last question.. This trip was a request of ds's for his high school graduation (we were blown away when he said he wanted to go to WDW, rather then a cruise or to Europe! :woohoo: ). What can we do that would be special for him (either at CSR or within WDW)? When we made our ressies we mentioned this to them. WDW called us back to confirm the information and that it will be noted at the resort. I have no clue waht this will entail, if anything. But, we would like to do something special.

We were going to bounceback to POP at the kids' request, but after seeing the renovated rooms, I called and switched to CSR. I really think we'll be more comfortable with the queen sized beds, and the modern look is fabulous - just hoping the renovations don't get slowed down and are complete by the last week of Sept / first week of Oct. We're going for 9 nights - so excited here! My dh and older dd are very excited about the Jaguar slide (let's hope the love bugs aren't as bad by it as they were last Sept when we stopped by to check the place out).

My youngest dd has mild hypotonic cp which basically means she ends up exhausted mid-day. The last few trips we've used her stroller as a wheelchair and get special accomodation for it while in the parks. I'm hoping to be able to do so again this year as long as she doesn't get too big by then. I've requested a first floor room close to the bus stop and Dig Site so that we can minimize her running around the resort and tiring out as much as possible (and also keep us from having to carry all 50 lbs of her too often). I also asked for a corner room (that's my thing - I love natural light!). Hopefully at least some of our requests will be met - I'll be sure to fax them the week before we arrive.

I was amazed - we dropped our waterparks and more options and preferred room at POP. The cost of CSR was only $178 more after tax for the whole trip (and we don't have to worry about getting the fridge for dd's meds). It sounds pretty darn good to me!

While on this thought, do you know if they have a business center that has a fax and printer? Wi-Fi is available to Guests staying at CSR. Guests with Wi-Fi enabled laptop computers or PDA's will be able to access the Internet from the common areas at CSR. Smart City is the vendor providing this service and 24-hour technical support for those Guests who need it. Smart City will bill the Guest using a secure credit card transaction via the on-screen Internet connection. Requirements: Requires a wireless interface card (WIC), available for purchase in the resort's business center. Price: $4.99 for the first 60 minutes or $9.95 for 24 contiguous hours. Coronado Springs areas include the Main Lobby, Convention Center hallway, the Dig Site (Feature Pool), Francisco's. The business center has everything you will need.

They can just tell the guard they are meeting you for lunch or dinner. Its best to check at the front desk about the pool. Yes, that means no boats, bikes or fishing.

Just in the beginning stages of planning a Feb. 2010 trip (no vacations for us in 2009 as we are a GM family :sad1: ). This thread is great, has convinced us to stay mod for the first time, have always stayed BC, BW or Poly.

So a question about connecting rooms... can you get two rooms with the 2 queen beds that are connecting or will one room be a king (thus at a higher rate) if we request connecting.

Thanks. :goodvibes

We have 2 Queen rooms booked and asked for them to be connected.

I know when we changed to this set up we were asked if we wanted any of the rooms to be kings.

almost 4 months till we go so I will know if it worked then. :)
