During a very bad storm here this afternoon, the wind snapped multiple mooring lines of the Disney Wonder setting her stern adrift. All three gangways crashed into the water and tugs were called in to assist the ship.

NO ONE was hurt thanks to the amazing officers and crew of the Wonder. The ship was then relocated to the North Turning Basin to load the remaining passengers. No word on sail time as yet.

Just heard something about that on CF News 13 in the other room....sounded like they mentioned that the Wonder was damaged, but didn't get in there in time to hear what they were talking about.

No damage on the Wonder other than the mooring lines. We are still docked at the north turning basin and just got done with drill.

All the gangways are in the water.

Good luck! Hope the weather improves for you. I'm just NE of Orlando and the weather got pretty nasty out here too! Glad I decided to climb up on the roof and put up the Christmas lights yesterday instead of waiting until today!!

Haven't seen any followup reports on TV since they brief mention of damage involving a Disney Cruise ship about 30 minutes ago...

OMG!!!!! :scared1: Yes, at least no one was hurt. That is the main thing. Hope your cruise improves over this unfortunate beginning. Thoughts with everyone on this cruise.

I noticed the gangway that they carry all the luggage on ship was in the water. Do you know if all will have their luggage. I am very glad that nobody was hurt. Disney is a class act.

OMG! Seeing the picture of the gangway hanging there is quite disturbing having walked across is many times now. Thank God no one was hurt! I can't imagine being there. I hope that you cruise turns out to be Magical! I just noticed that in one of the pictures a kid is wearing a life jacket. Was there a request to do so or were they just ready for the drill a little early?

Great pictures WDWKevin! Thankfully no one was injured. Have a safe and wonderful trip.

First and foremost this has not impacted the vacation at all. The crew are amazing and all is well. We are still pierside but all is proceeding as normal.

The kid with the life jacket was ready for drill. No general alarm.

As always, the crew made the event a non-issue.

Wow! How lucky that no one was hurt!

Is that Capt. Tom in the shorts and bare feet?
