OMG.....i'm so behind!!!!! i'm swamped with work. it's the end of the month, so it's a given with my job. i will be back on track come wednesday!

i need a break from work so i decided to finally respond to some of you guys! if i skip over you it's because i've already said THANK YOU here or because i think erica responded to you. please don't get offended!

Okay, that random box is too funny!!! Were you like "WTH???" when you opened it and saw what was inside??? I would have been laughing so hard, I wouldn't have been able to take a photo!

oh, it was crazy! i had no idea what was in that 3rd box (the other two were the coffee maker and the fridge). i thought maybe coffee, cups, wipes, all that kinda thing. but then when i saw the rum and vodka i just cracked up!

It looks like you had a good time at the AC. PI will be closed by the time we get there, which is too bad because DH and I were looking for something to do on our night out. We are still thinking we might go to Raglan Road or Fulton's for drinks or something though.

i hear raglan road is really fun with live music! and they have a great selection of beers if you're beer drinkers.

So many great photos and video of the AC! I just wish I had one last chance to go! The last time I went was in 1995 so I don't think that counts at all!

What does the Fridge swap entail???

it's pretty easy! you just have to go to the budget boards and search for a fridge swap at your hotel that has your dates available, then just sign up. every swap has their own organizer who can explain the "rules" to you. if you're staying at a mod or deluxe you don't need it though because those places have fridges. it's just for value resorts. the first few people in the fridge swap have to pay something like $10 to cover the fridge, but then after that, it's free!

I already miss the AC! My DH tried to be awesome and send me for the weekend just to be there for the last weekend of it but financially it wasn't the best idea. Oh well. I loved it there and am def sad it';s almost gone! Great pics! And your cousin does look like the chick from Heroes!

Congratulations to Kelsie! She does look beautiful. Trent was dating our homecoming queen during his senior year, so we know firsthand the behind-the-scenes work and the 'on-stage' excitement that goes with that night. I know it was a night filled with fun and memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Adventurers' Club looks interesting. I know a lot of people have been really upset about it closing. It's nice that Disney has had so many different types of entertainment venues for so many different types of people, so maybe they will reopen this sometime again, since it seems to have been incredibly popular.

kelsie is such a sweetie and i'm so glad she got the honor. she deserves it. she's one of the nicest and most genuine teenagers i've ever known.

i do hope they reopen the AC. it's not something i HAVE to do while at disney but it was fun. and those performers were really funny and talented.

I really glad you didn't drink that rum and vodka, I'm a bit of a germaphob and a hypochondriac and just the sight of that box freaked me out. Oh I wouldn't be able to use the coffee pot either, I would wonder stupid things like did the person before me spit or pee in it or something. LOL
I was in Disney in july, and got a bottle of water in the Pop food court, it was around 11:00pm I took a big chug and then I noticed I smelled something weird, so I smelled the bottle and no it did not smell it was the water, the water smelled like you know the gross mildew smell OMG the horror if my husband drank that water he could care less, me I figure I would die in my sleep , but I was in Disney so I guess if your going to go, that would be a good as any. Well I didn't die in my sleep. So then thought I would get legion aires or something like that, since July I waited and I'm fine.Thank Goodness ,But I swear to this day I always smell my bottled water and always will. I have always despised birds they truly scare me, my mother loves to feed the birds and the (big disgusting dirty seagulls, small birds are gross and dirty too) gather around her eewwww, I sit in the car with the window rolled up and turn my head. I also hate fish, I am very freaked out by fish, I remember was I was little I saw cannibal goldfish, so that's where it started, then when I was older I went on a cruise and everyone went snorkeling I couldn't go, you know slimey disgusting wiggly fish. ( which unfortunately keeps me from eating at the Corral Reef restaurant) well anyway back to the fish thing, so when everyone was snorkeling I walked into the ocean only up to my knees, when wouldn't you know a big slimey wiggly disgusting school of fish swam thru my legs. That was it for me, I don't go in the ocean or near fish. Funny note is that I live on a lake full of disgusting fish and gross birds looking for fish, I do not sit outside my house at all, alligators fine no problem but no fish or birds please. Great TR

wow....you ARE a germophob! there were antibacterial wipes in the box to wipe down the coffeemaker before use, so it was clean. plus i just washed it with soap and water too. as far as the alcohol in the box, i was thinking about something poisoneous moreso than germs. glad you didn't die from the water! and i thought i was bad with birds, but your phobia of fish is crazy. i understand though because being scared of birds is a crazy phobia too!

Ohh, eewww I just noticed the cups, if I was dying of thirst in the desert I would not drink from one of those cups. But my husband would gladly use everything in that box. Oh yuck also the coffee filters, oy vay. I guess I'm just an odd duck huh?

yeah. i didn't even think twice about the coffee filters. although i didn't use them because i bought some of those pre-filtered coffee packs.

Great update Dawn. I'm so glad that you posted those videos and pictures of the AC. I've never been there before and it is too bad that I won't have the chance to go. Great update! We never went to the AC b/c I HATE being heckled (or the thought of it) so I avoid places like that like the plague. It looks like it wasn't as bad as I thought so perhaps I should have went.

we didn't get heckled but it was very easy to. but it usually was a very minor heckling (minus the girl that got picked to be serenaded by hathaway brown!) and it passed quickly!

Love the AC photos! I am so sad that I never went there. That was one thing I really wanted to do on my trip last week, but we never got around to it. We had planned to go on our second night but my DH decided wanted to go to DisneyQuest instead. So then we said we'd go on our very last night, but of course, by then we were just too exhausted for a late night. It had been a very busy 10 days and we were just out of steam. But I could kick myself now! It sounds like you two had fun, though. I can't wait to watch the videos later!

it's so funny how time gets away from you while at disney. i always have a list of things i MUST do and usually only about half of that stuff happens!

Have a great holiday trip. DH and I loved our trip to Disney in December 2006. The decorations were gorgeous and the parks were empty. If you have time, I recommend checking out the resorts. The Beach Club had a chocolate carousel, it was awesome. I'll be looking for your trip report

thanks! wow.....it is a small world. she's actually been there for a month now. she likes it but she's really bored because she doesn't know anyone. she got a job at a DNA center and she starts on 10/6, so hopefully that will take up more of her time and she'll make some friends.

i can't wait to go in december!!!!! i'm so excited about seeing all the christmas stuff. and i'm definitely planning on checking out the christmas decorations! we're going to the beach club and the boardwalk on our epcot day, the to the grand floridian on our MK day and then to the wilderness lodge the day we go to MVMCP. i'm sure it'll be awesome!

oh, and i have to go to atlanta tomorrow for a deposition, so that will take half a tank away. nice!

Oh, I talked with my sister this weekend, and she was talking about how bad it is over there. She lives in Norcross and works in Marietta. She said that the QT close by always has gas, BUT it is usually a 40 minute wait to get to the pump, and then they only have regular. It sounds crazy. I told my mom that I am not coming for a visit any time soon because I don't want to run the risk of not finding gas for my SUV. It would be really hard to push if it ran out of gas. Plus with gas as expensive as it is, It would cost me about $175 just in gas to come visit. Hope y'all get more gas soon.

My BIL said he waited in line for over an hour for gas on Sat and he lives in Charlotte, NC. I hope it's not moving North..it hasn't hit anywhere near up here and gas has actually been dropping a little..down to $3.60!

Bad timing on the trip to Atlanta....ugh.

i got back home for atlanta okay! i had a full tank when i left and when i got back i had a little bit over half a tank. the gas station near my house had just gotten a delivery so i filled up my tank again. i should be good for a few days! gas here is still $3.97. i can't believe it hasn't gone over $4 yet!

I had the chance finally to catch up on your TR after a crazy workweek. Oh my gosh, the pasta from Wolfang Puck's looks fabulous.
The random boxes left behind for you totally crack me up. I am the type of person who would definitely use the coffee filters (if I drank coffee) and cups...although the half-empty bottles of liquor are even a little much for me
I love the Otis/Ryan Stiles comparison! I just visited AC for the first time on our last trip and am so bummed that I won't have the opportunity to go back. I hope that instead of closing it up, they move it somewhere - I think it would fit in well at Animal Kingdom! It was so crowded the night we went we couldn't even get into the library show - we had to try and peer in around the door!
Oh and we ended up getting kicked out of AC too at close, and the butler wasn't very nice about it either

so day 2 has begun! we decided to drive on this day and park at the beach club, then go to epcot future world through the international gateway. the beach club is so pretty! i had never been there before.

the walk from the beach club to epcot is so beautiful!

we arrived at epcot around 10:45. world showcase wasn't quite open yet, but we managed to stop and make a couple of quick phone calls while in england.

of course, we headed straight for soarin to get fastpasses. i can't remember our exact turn time, but we had a good while. so we decided to ride livin with the land. i had never been on this ride before. it was pretty interesting.

FRUITS, VEGETABLES AND SOME RANDOM ANIMALS!!!!!!!!!

i wish my mint would grow like this! instead it just goes crazy all over my yard.

after our ride it was around 11:40 so we decided to go ahead and grab lunch at sunshine seasons. LOTS to choose from!

my food is closest to the camera and it's a grilled veggie cuban sandwich, pasta salad and a piece of apple flan pie. erica's is further away and it's turkey and muenster cheese on foccacia bread and a side of mozzarella and tomatoes. all our food was very good! there was a little too much mustard on my sandwich but i'm weird about that kinda thing.

after lunch our soarin fastpasses still weren't ready, so we headed over to the seas pavilion. we spotted this kodak "picture spot" on the way and got confused. you mean you're supposed to stand with your BACK to this sign????

oh, okay. NOW I GET IT!!!

first we went on an undersea adventure with nemo and friends....

i think this picture is a requirement.......MINE.....MINE.......MINE........

there was no wait and while that's a good thing, it's kind of a bummer because the queue is so cool! here are erica and myself enjoying nemo....

after that we went to check out turtle talk with crush. i had never done this before and it was really cute!

then it was time to watch the dolphins. i'm glad we both love to watch them because we stayed there for a good 15 minutes watching them, possibly longer. they were soooooooo pretty! they were in a very playful mood and were just going nuts swimming around each other and playing. it was really cool to watch! i wish i would have brought my video camera but i left it in the room that day.

the boys enjoyed watching the dolphins, too!

i wonder what people thought when they walked by and saw us doing this???

we also checked out the manatees, but they weren't feeling very photogenic that day. after that, we headed back to the land to use our soarin fastpasses. we passed kat and her hubby as we were going into the land building. they had just ridden soarin too!

we asked to be in the front row and it's totally worth asking! WAY cooler than seeing feet in front of you. by the way, memom, neither of us could get a signal while on the ride, so we couldn't call you. i promise we tried though!

after that we headed back towards the middle of the park and noticed the little character connection area, so we decided to check it out. when we realized there were LOTS of characters in here, we decided to hop in line. what a great spot to meet characters!!!

pluto was soooooo cute! he came up to us on all fours like a real doggie and was wagging his tail and pawing at us!

erica and goofy both had long ears to play with!

of course we had to stop by club cool to sample some beverages. it was good timing too because i was thirsty!

the inevitable beverly pictures had to be taken......

why, oh why do we torture ourselves???? actually, i think this was erica's first time trying the beverly. but i knew better and i still did it.

here was the consensus.

after that we decided to head to spaceship earth. look how empty the park was!

we passed kat and her hubby again! i think they were stalking us!

SE was down at the moment, so we just headed to the front of the park to get some photopass pics. now......this is where it gets funny. the photopass guy we got was CRAZY! i can't wait to get the CD to show you all the pics he took. it was like we had our own little portrait session with him!

the funniest thing that happened is he was trying to tell us to lock our hands together and lean away from each other for a really cool picture he ended up taking (which you'll see later in our photopass pics). but then he realized the monorail was going by and instead of finishing his directions about locking our hands together, he stepped to the side to take the picture of the monorail going by. only we didn't realize the monorail was going by because it's really quiet. so we're standing there, holding hands, while he's taking our picture and i was saying through a forced smile, "um......what are we doing????" and erica was saying back to me through another forced smile......"i don't know but i think maybe the monorail is going by" (or something like that). the pictures are hilarious! erica finally says to the guy, "we don't normally hold hands!" it was just a really odd, funny situation! but his pictures turned out great so i'm glad we found him.

when we went back by SE it was back up and running, so we walked on. i haven't ridden this since i was 15, so it was really cool! i remember bits and pieces but it's all pretty much new to me, refurb or not!

when they took our picture, i made sort of a extra happy smiley face......

but erica made a psycho crazy lady happy face!!!!!

these pictures totally crack me, especially erica's! we e-mailed post cards to both our hubbies. i'm sure that brightened their days!

Very fun update. You make me want to go back to Epcot so bad! I love the weird kodak picture spots. I think I enjoyed taking pictures of the signs more than trying to recreate the view they suggest.

Great pictures of the Boardwalk area--we went therefor the first time in August and agreed how prety that area was!!
Its so fun to read your reports-your words and photos show how much fun you have
