So, here goes nothing.
Cast
Robert, 23, planner, constant worrywart, UO expert (well, out of the 2 of us going, lol).
Chip, 24 (as of Aug. 3), cooler, thinner, Filipino version of me (haha not really), that is not so worried. Avid gamer, and has a cool car.
So, 2008 began with me deciding to finally go on a trip back to Walt Disney World for the first time since I "grew up" and moved out of my dad and step-mom's house. So I planned, and I planned, and I planned some more. Oh, and then I did some planning. During my planning I realized....Disney is hella expensive!! Plus, I really wanted to go ride ROTM, since my step-mom spoke really highly of it. It also was partly because she and my dad spolied me growing up. Every trip to WDW was never complete with out a side trip to UO. So I had to go!! So then I did some more planning and realized....wow, it sucks if you wanna try to rent a car when you're under 25. And I don't really like driving when on vacation. I'm lazy like that! Of course, it was long after that that I found out that there are transport companies that will shuttle you between parks. Oh well. While doing my research on UO, I saw the "2-Park Unlimited Ticket" deal. And that there were a lot of hotels right across the street from the park, so I wouldn't have to rely on scheduled transportation (Disney buses) to get to the park. Joy!! (I'm a stickler on being somewhere at the time I want to be there.) So, I decided to book me a package (D'oh!) through Universal Vacations, www.univacations.com, that included airfare. And thus my hotel hopping began. I booked the package with the new(ish) Hyatt Place, because the 42 inch HD TV sounded rather pleasant to a boy who doesn't have cable. Plus, free breakfast. So, that stuck......for about a month. Then I saw that if I switched to the Doubletree, I'd save a lot of money....money that could be spent on shiny things....and food!! So I switched again. I believe that was late March/April. Come May, I was looking at my finances, and I sorta realized that I could very well afford to stay on site at the RPR. Score!!! So I switched again. Then, my car broke down. So, it was a dent, but I could still scrounge up the dough for RPR. I just wouldn't buy so many shiny things. Then, my lazy butt got caught. I had neglected to get my registration and inspection stickers renewed....since 2006. D'oh! Then after that on the same day, I got caught speeding. D'OH!! Ok, so $428 later, RPR was no longer an option. So, back to the Hyatt Place. Yes, it's a little more than the Doubletree, but we can save money with the free breakfast. But my brain wouldn't stop working. I'm not a giant breakfast eater, and we're barely going to be in the room at all....why are we spending an extra $100 for food and a TV? Doubletree it is then. And things have started to work out for the better (so far). Me thinks I should have stayed at the Doubletree to begin with. Of course, since I booked the package before I knew for sure Chip was going, we have to pay an extra $25 a night, according to the person I spoke with at Universal Vacations. Oh well. Not like I have much of a choice. Especially since I booked my package with airfare, and if I canceled it would also cancel my plane ticket. But that's it so far. Almost a month left before the big day!! I can't wait!!!
