Fish Extender Gifts

I have a little foam bag for each cabin, inside will be a clip picture magnet and a foam hanging telling where we will be the next morning. At the end of the cruise they will have 6 "foamies" to put in the bag that map out the itinerary.

For the picture clip magnet, I put Mickey in the frame. On each day's foamie is a wooden sticker for the next day. For example for the first day at sea, there is an anchor sticker then I wrote the date and the words At Sea.

I bought almost everything in $1 stores and because its home-made my kids have been helping too!

Happy planning,

Jennifer

if you bring food items/candy, you have to pack them in your suitcase. From what I understand, NO food-like things are allowed thru security into the terminal (except for baby formula and special medical stuff) - which is going to make getting my "specially made, meltable" FE gift onto the ship IN JULY very interesting...

Just thought I would share the dis tag gifts I made last October.

I made 19 paper bag scrapbooks. I asked for the last name of each family participating and did a title page with "Smith family cruise" and if there was more than one last name in the family I just put Our Family Cruise.

They were pretty much the same but I did run out of supplies for the last 6 or so, I had to make new pages for those ones.

It took me a long time to make them but everyone seemed to like them :thumbsup2

They took up a lot of room though, so for our next cruise I will be doing something a LOT smaller :rolleyes1

I also put in some Canadian postcards and some pirate stuff for the kids.

(I blurred the last names)

OMGoodness!!! Those are beautiful! Those families were very lucky!!

WOW ~ you are so creative! They are adorable.

Would you be willing to share the directions?

Wow! That was alot of work..but they look great!:thumbsup2 Thanks for the tip on how to get the surprises on board! I will put them w/the other luggage for sure! :)

can someone tell me about the CD that was given away? I would love to do this!!

We received a cd that had the givers WDW and DCL vacation pictures, they did not have people in them, just pictures they had taken. It was nice to see things through someone elses eyes.

Thanks :goodvibes
Yes, it turned out to be a lot more work than I originally thought

LOL, there are no directions...I just made the scrapbooks by hand. I used 3 paper bags for each scrapbook, punched 3 holes in them, riveted them and scrapbooked the pages.

I wanted to make something unique and I am a scrapbooker so I thought it was a good fit :goodvibes

And the people who got these (most of them anyway) were people I chatted with on a daily basis for almost 2 years.

We are all sailing again (most of us) next October, so I gotta come up with something else unique...but smaller :lmao:

Thanks :goodvibes

Ok....thanks. I am going to attempt one for a birthday gift for my sister. We went on vacation together last month and I think this would be a special way to share some of our pictures. (I usually just give her copies of my photos and do a 5x7 in a nice frame of the two of us.)

I am willing to bet you will come with another unique idea for your next cruise.

I'd like to hear what type of gifts are received in the FE's. Our group hasn't decided to do the exchange, so I want to be able to tell them what its all about. Thanks!

Ahoy there pirate:

Excuse my ignorance, i'm a cruise newbie, but what is the " fish Exchange" ?

Many thanks

:thumbsup2

For those of us that are truly uncreative like you, I know it may have been really easy but I can't even look at these and come up with how you did it. Are they paper lunch bags or regular grocery bags? And how did you do the decorations inside?

Hey Mollygirl, we're neighbors. I grew up in Warminster and moved all the way to Warrington. Wawa coffee packets are a great idea! We thought about tastycakes too but they are too big.

We are going to burn CD's with "cruise music" on it. The horn, "Hey Baby", Cotton Eyed Joe, Disney Mania songs, etc.

I found some instructions online for you...how to make a paper bag scrapbook...

http://scrapbooking.about.com/library/weekly/blpaperbagscrapbooks.htm

I used the paper lunch bags, the kind that I used to take my lunch in to school. As for the inside, it`s scrapbooked, meaning I used cardstock and decorative elements. You do not have to be creative to do these, really! Of course, you can make them plain or fancy...scrapbookers have very different, unique styles, so it all depends on what you want to do with it.

If you google scrapbooking, you will find tons of pages to show you exactly how to do it :thumbsup2

Hope that helps!

I was one of the DISers lucky enough to get one of Timon's FE gifts and it was one of my favorites - it's GORGEOUS!!! :goodvibes She continues to amaze us with her talent and creativity!

Thanks again, Cass ;)

I appreciated mine more than you'll know. First, because they were beautiful, and secondly because they came from such a dear, dear friend!!
Love ya, CP!!

I loved them and might steal your idea if that is ok. I am also a scrapbooker and have made lots of these for my son and family events. I love to scrapbook and the paper bag books are so easy to make. But decorating them is where the time consuming comes into play. That was so nice of you to do that for your families. They look great:thumbsup2
