As I started to plan my route to DTD, deciding between bus or boat, it hit me that my DH is about to get into his car to drive to Orlando. Hey honey, can I get a lift?
We fought the Friday night crowds
at DTD and I had him drop me off at Planet Hollywood. I took a nice stroll towards the Marketplace crossing through Pleasure Island. DH and I are not bar-going people, nor do we like dance places (I save those places for when I'm with my color guard/theatre friends... I cut loose with them!!), so we don't really get into PI. We did enjoy the Adventurer's Club and really loved the Improv Comedy place, but we need to go there when we are with other adults. It's just not as fun when it's the two of us.
Anyway.. I had gone into crowd shock as soon as I hit the Marketplace. POR was so quiet and empty... DTD was a MADHOUSE!!!
My first stop was World of Disney.. it was CRAZY!! I think if I could have a 'dream' from Disney, it could be a $5000 shopping spree at WOD... with NOBODY else in there except for me and some helpful CMs. Doesn't that sound heavenly!?! I mean, I love the store, but after 10 minutes, I'm so stressed out about the crowds, that I can't even enjoy the browsing. Too bad....
I did manage to find a T-shirt for Ty, my postcards to mail to DIS familiies, a YOAMD figurine for Matt's office and 2 Lime Green foam Mickey head keychains for Michelle (This was a fun scavenger hunt for the remainder of my trip.. trying to scope out the foam Mickey head in lime green only!!).
I was able to browse several more shops, just wishing to be rich... can you imagine going into these places and just being able to buy what you want?! My house would be outta control. DH and I have a large plant shelf in our bedroom that has been sitting empty for 3 years. I spotted several PERFECT things that would make that shelf look fabulous (especially at Art of Disney), but I just couldn't afford any of it!!
Here are some windows outside of the
LEGO store:
A giant Mickey head in WOD that I just thought was cool:
A glass blower from Arrabas Bros.
And one of his creations:
Some cute bobble-heads that had magnets in the snouts to make them kiss... adorable!
Walking past Team Mickey:
I found me way to Goofy's. Now.. I had heard all about the Mickey head Rice Krispie treats that you can have made in here, and I told myself I would DEFINITELY have to try one.. and maybe surprise DH with one... so I meandered around the store a bit, trying to find out how to get one made:
I made my way to the counter in the middle of the jam-packed-beyond-crowded store and found the little paper you fill out to let them know what kind of treat you want and what you want on your treat (didja follow that one?) I went to give it to the cute little CM making the delectable creations....
Then noticed she had about 10 piled up before mine!!!
It was then that I decided to come back to DTD sometime tomorrow. Friday nights are just OUT OF CONTROL!!.
So, guess what?!?! There are EMH at Epcot tonight... remember I said I wouldn't go there by myself because it's such a special place for DH and me?!? Remember that....
Well FORGET ABOUT IT!! Because I haven't ridden Soarin' in months and months and months.. and it is calling my name, baby!!!
Now.. what's the fastest way to Epcot from here...???
