SOOZE 10 year Anniversary Getaway.. All DONE!

Can't wait to go back to POR it is beautiful isn't it :goodvibes

I would of said the paddles were for circulation too, thanks V!

The wheel wasn't moving for several days when we were there in August 2005 and it was warm enough then :rotfl2:

One of the great mysteries of Disney, I guess...:confused3
And yes, POR was stunning! Just loved the atmosphere. When they say it has a laid-back feel, they ain't kidding!!

Hey Sooze...you are too funny! Love your writing style. Looking forward to more!:cool2: :cool2:

Thank you so much! Hope to update this weekend. Stay tuned...

I will. I checked back at the pics and I have none of them. next time I won't be there and I am actually changing resorts again tomorrow but I will make it official when it is done in my report tomorrow.

I'll have to check that out.. were you going to be at BC? and you're changing it?!? Going to Scott's TR.. see y'all later!

See the sweatshirt? Get used to it.. I wore it EVERY SINGLE DAY!! It just never warmed up enough for me to take it off.. except the very last afternoon we were there. I was going to by a new zipper-hoodie, but just couldn't find one I fell in love with enough to warrant paying $50 for!!
My DH and I went last year for our 10 year Anniversary trip at the same time of year you were there and WE WERE FREEZING TOO!

At least you were at WDW, right. But, come on in Florida one would expect a little bit of shorts weather.:confused3

Great TR so far, waiting for more!

Hey Sooze,

Sorry that I'm just making my way back here. Somehow I didn't get subscribed when I posted on your pre-trippie.

Eric and I just finally got our 10th anniversary trip report from December started tonight. I've got the next four chapters already written, so it should be quick from here on out.

Thanks for the great postcards for my girls. They loved them! DD6 thought it was so cool that Mickey & Minnie remembered her! She said she can't wait to thank them in person for the postcards in October! I'm just hoping the CM will play along.... :rotfl:

Sounds like the week before your trip was sorta like ours. DD3 was sick and we almost decided to cancel our trip. But, I'm glad we didn't. She survived and we had a great relaxing anniversary. We only had one bed though (since we stayed in a studio villa), but we went to Puerto Rico the weekend you were in WDW and we had two beds there. I agree about the extra room!

Can't wait to read more about your trip! :woohoo:

:worship: :thumbsup2 Just wanted to thank you in front of your adoring fans for sending DS his postcard. It arrived today (takes a little longer to get this far north:lmao: ) and he was in total shock. He didn't know what to say when I asked him how Donald knew his address.

Thanks again for making my little guy's day!:yay:

u would have been a little early as I did not post till around 4 but thank you for checking. :)

I am all caught up! I loved the pics of POR. I totally agree with you about the smell of the resorts! I noticed that the last time I was there. I am looking forward to Downtown Disney and I can't wait to see how the ABC book turns out!:)

Hey all... I'll be back to comment and, hopefully, update this thing sometime today. I've spent the past two days in bed with some nasty bug... achy achy achy!

Thanks for waiting for me!

Thanks for waiting for me!

Hi Susie! I'm all caught up again! POR does sound nice... it's just weird that it gets so many conflicting reports. :confused3 If you and Jo like it, then it's OK in my book! :thumbsup2 I can't wait to read more... :surfweb:

I hope you feel better soon! The flu found us as well, and everyone is walking around like zombies this weekend... I hope it passes quickly.

Thanks again for the postcard from WDW. Did you get my PM??? I'm still working on trying to get us down to Indy for the meet. I think the 22nd would work the best for us... I don't think we'll be able to go the the show, though. :sad1: BUT, I haven't given up completely yet...

Take care of yourself!

Definitely better to be chilled at WDW than freezing to death back home!! We never complained about the cold down there!

Yay! You finally started your TR!! The race is on now!! I'll be over to check it out soon.

So glad your girls liked the postcards. It was so fun to write them out and a great way to relax and unwind after exhausting myself at the parks! Sure hope that CM plays along next time you see Mickey and Minnie!

 So happy the cards made it to you! I was putting the stamps on the others, then realized you were in Canada! So I just stuck a bunch of extra stamps on there, hoping it would get to you! It was my pleasure!!

u would have been a little early as I did not post till around 4 but thank you for checking. :)

You're welcome! I found it.. and am so excited for you!!

It's great to know that others appreciate the 'smell' factor down there! I thought I was crazy for a while..

I think the ABC book will be on hold until my show is over... things are getting so hectic around here and once my show is done, I'll get my evenings back to work on things like that. So much for a birthday gift, eh?

Hope you're feeling better soon

Thanks.. I just need to be healthy enough to get back to school tomorrow, I've missed so much work recently...

I get so happy when I see your posts.. so glad you're still hanging around. Yes.. I did get your PM... I'm so sorry I didn't reply!! (one of those moments where I replied in my mind, but never for real on the computer.. do you ever do that?!) I sure hope you can work it out and at least come for dinner, but if not, I'll try to throw something else together this summer.. maybe something that doesn't cost any money! (Since we all want to save for Disney!!)

BTW, I was thinking of your family this morning. The Travel Channel was doing another one of its Disney marathons. They did a special on "Hidden Secrets of Disney" and they featured the Chef's table at V&A's! I said to DH, "Michelle and her family have eaten there!!!". He didn't believe me, but he also didn't know who the heck I was talking about!!... such a non DISer...:sad2:

As I started to plan my route to DTD, deciding between bus or boat, it hit me that my DH is about to get into his car to drive to Orlando. Hey honey, can I get a lift?;)

We fought the Friday night crowds:scared1: at DTD and I had him drop me off at Planet Hollywood. I took a nice stroll towards the Marketplace crossing through Pleasure Island. DH and I are not bar-going people, nor do we like dance places (I save those places for when I'm with my color guard/theatre friends... I cut loose with them!!), so we don't really get into PI. We did enjoy the Adventurer's Club and really loved the Improv Comedy place, but we need to go there when we are with other adults. It's just not as fun when it's the two of us.

Anyway.. I had gone into crowd shock as soon as I hit the Marketplace. POR was so quiet and empty... DTD was a MADHOUSE!!!

My first stop was World of Disney.. it was CRAZY!! I think if I could have a 'dream' from Disney, it could be a $5000 shopping spree at WOD... with NOBODY else in there except for me and some helpful CMs. Doesn't that sound heavenly!?! I mean, I love the store, but after 10 minutes, I'm so stressed out about the crowds, that I can't even enjoy the browsing. Too bad....

I did manage to find a T-shirt for Ty, my postcards to mail to DIS familiies, a YOAMD figurine for Matt's office and 2 Lime Green foam Mickey head keychains for Michelle (This was a fun scavenger hunt for the remainder of my trip.. trying to scope out the foam Mickey head in lime green only!!).

I was able to browse several more shops, just wishing to be rich... can you imagine going into these places and just being able to buy what you want?! My house would be outta control. DH and I have a large plant shelf in our bedroom that has been sitting empty for 3 years. I spotted several PERFECT things that would make that shelf look fabulous (especially at Art of Disney), but I just couldn't afford any of it!!

Here are some windows outside of the LEGO store:

A giant Mickey head in WOD that I just thought was cool:

A glass blower from Arrabas Bros.

And one of his creations:

Some cute bobble-heads that had magnets in the snouts to make them kiss... adorable!

Walking past Team Mickey:

I found me way to Goofy's. Now.. I had heard all about the Mickey head Rice Krispie treats that you can have made in here, and I told myself I would DEFINITELY have to try one.. and maybe surprise DH with one... so I meandered around the store a bit, trying to find out how to get one made:

I made my way to the counter in the middle of the jam-packed-beyond-crowded store and found the little paper you fill out to let them know what kind of treat you want and what you want on your treat (didja follow that one?) I went to give it to the cute little CM making the delectable creations....

Then noticed she had about 10 piled up before mine!!! :scared: It was then that I decided to come back to DTD sometime tomorrow. Friday nights are just OUT OF CONTROL!!.

So, guess what?!?! There are EMH at Epcot tonight... remember I said I wouldn't go there by myself because it's such a special place for DH and me?!? Remember that.... Well FORGET ABOUT IT!! Because I haven't ridden Soarin' in months and months and months.. and it is calling my name, baby!!!

Now.. what's the fastest way to Epcot from here...???:confused3

I hope you feel better!:goodvibes How many days until spring break?;)
I love Downtown Disney but like you, I can't think when it is busy. I like a little space when I am shopping. I went in the morning on my last trip and it was so nice. Not that many people at all. Take care!:)

I hear you on DTD on a Friday night.

Nice of hubby to give you a lift!;) Thank goodness you were alone in DTD could you imagine trying to navigate a stroller or 2 children through that mob!:scared1: Hmmm best way to Epcot? I'm guessing a bus to the first Epcot resort that comes along and a walk through the International Gateway!:confused3 :goodvibes

Wow, sounds like DTD was a madhouse that night. I was lucky that it was pretty dead the afternoon I visited. WoD is confusing enough as it is, add tons of people into the mix and I don't think I would have been able to deal with it.

More More More!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: Can't wait to hear all about Epcot EMH!!!!!
Lesley

So happy to hear you liked POR. My favorite moderate. I am partial to the AB section. I really do not like being at DTD when it is so crowded, good call to go to EPCOT. Can't wait to hear more. Found one of the LGMH key chains at DHS/MGM last Wednesday, near Sounds Dangerous, I was thrilled.

great pics and update. those pics were fantastic. I hate when DTD is crowded. Good call going to Epcot, hope it was better crowd wise.

I think if I could have a 'dream' from Disney, it could be a $5000 shopping spree at WOD... with NOBODY else in there except for me and some helpful CMs. Doesn't that sound heavenly!?!
::yes:: Really, the only reason I even step foot into that place is because I can get an AP discount. And there are still many times I'll opt to buyt things in the parks - sans discount - just to avoid WOD. :scared:

So, guess what?!?! There are EMH at Epcot tonight... remember I said I wouldn't go there by myself because it's such a special place for DH and me?!? Remember that.... Well FORGET ABOUT IT!!
:rotfl2: How quickly our plans can change thanks to crowd intervention!
