SOOZE 10 year Anniversary Getaway.. All DONE!

Hey Sooze,
Sorry I missed this, thanks for the invite, so excited you are doing an adults only trip. Getting caught up now so probably will post a few times. Love the holiday pics and the huge Mickey wreath, that is awesome. O.K, back to reading!

Hi Sooze,

I love the Coral Reef idea, what a great surprise.:thumbsup2 DH and I are hoping to try it out on our trip. We keep hearing good things.

O.K. Susie, so sorry I hadn't found this sooner and am SO on board after reading everything.
O.K., so much to say got to think hard. First of all, could Shae be any cuter in that video. ADORABLE! Second of all GO FOR YOUR DREAMS, you SO should attend a casting audition while down there to see if you could perform for them, would you ever consider moving down there if you did make it? You keep saying it is your dream, you have the talent and two days alone in Disney, I say knock on the door and try out, you'd be following your dream and at least you'd know if you COULD make it if you tried? Just a thought.
How cool is it that you and your DH get these trips. Tim and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary in July 08' and we would LOVe to do that but can't afford two trips a year so we choose to do it with the kids while they are young but OH MY GOSH you are living my dream, not only getting TWO DAYS in the world by myself, I soooo love being by myself too and couldn't imagine getting that time by myself. I think exploring AK will be so cool, I'd love to do that too and haven't ever had the opportunity sotake lots of pics for us. SO thrilled you are wandering over to the WL, I suggest taking the boat there from MK, I wish you could eat at WCC, such fun, but wouldn't be a meal I'd want to do by myself. Have you ever done the behind the scenes tour? Would be a perfect opportunity to do that by yourself, although riding the rides would be my first choice. I am so jealous of the RR and TOT time you will be getting at Hollywood Studios, TAKE ME WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys will have such fun at Epcot too, I just love Epcot!
Can't wait for more and am SO looking foward to the TR when you return.

Just jumping in! We had planned an adults only trip for December but babysitting fell through and we all went! (It's the report I'm doing now.) We are going in January too!
Your scrapbook pages are awesome! I really want to try it.
Looking forward to more!

I'm glad you like the scrapbook pages! I do so much better when I scrap with friends and use their stuff! I just can't see spending so much money on scrapping supplies when I only do one event a year!! I'm very happy you're here! Hope you stick around for the actual report!

You're not too late! I'm just happy you made it.

And now you've planted a seed... darnit! I wouldn't even know where to begin to find out if I could sing for someone down there... My little theatre career is just starting.. I don't feel 'seasoned' enough to audition for Disney..but it would SO be a dream... I'll see what I can do!

I wouldn't move away from Indy.. we are so rooted here with our careers, family, friends, church, etc. but, as you know, Matt and I already have plans to retire to Orlando and work at WDW. I think I'd make a great Fairy Godmother when I'm old!

I wish you could come with me! I know I'll have to pinch myself a few times and make sure I take in every moment. I realize how lucky I am that we squeeze in two trips. Wish everyone could do the same!

I will definitely take the boat to WL and take lots of pictures for you! I'm sure I'll feel your spirit while I'm there... I might even see a glimpse of your family up near the flag (since I see that in your siggie all the time!!)

Welcome to my TR! Talk soon!

I really enjoyed your last TR, what an awesome job you did on your scrapbook. You are truly talented, the pictures of your children are so cute. What fun little descriptions too.:goodvibes

Just a few suggestions for your Alphabet book, wow great idea btw. L Little Mermaid, J Captain Jack.pirate: I think this would be a best seller at WDW/DL, maybe when you go to casting to apply you could pitch this idea too.

Go to the Animation building at MGM for sure, drawing the characters is now one of my favorite things to do. It would be very difficult to do this with your kids. In November we drew Winnie the Pooh, I wanted to do it more than once but you know how Disney time flies..........

Some of my suggestions for your solo touring:princess:
The resort visits are fun, if you do get to AKL head over to the food court area, you can purchase Zebra Domes, they are sweet, but very good. The gift shop is one of the more unique shops at WDW, and the lobby is amazing. Say hi to my sister, she will be there celebrating her 25th aniversary that weekend. (her DH won a trip, he has not been to WDW since the late 70's:scared1: , I think he will be overwhelmed by everything)

Make sure you take the boat ride to DTD, much better than the bus. The walk between POR and POFQ is very nice too.

Really explore the shops on Main Street at MK, and AK. It is difficult to ride EE twice in a row, so head over to the Nemo show to let your head clear.

Take lots of pictures of the small things, Disney is the best on theming everything.

Can't wait to read more................

Thanks! I'm happy you are joining me for another! And even happier that it's 24 days away!!!

Wow.. I could be an author....:lovestruc Sounds awesome.. And, come to think of it... If I saw that book on a Disney shelf, I'd totally buy it! hmmmmmmm:rolleyes1

Thanks for the tips. I've never heard of a Zebra Dome. Is it a dessert item? Candy? Snack? How funny about your BIL not being at WDW since the 70s! I just can't imagine.. nor do I want to! I hope they have a super time!

Is there a boat from POR to DTD?! I think I read about that somewhere, but never made the connection! If so, I will DEFINITELY take that to DTD on my first night there. Thanks!! And I appreciate all of the idea very much!!

Well, I auditioned for another show here in Indianapolis. It was my first time auditioning outside of my little, local, community theatre. I GOT A PART! The show is called "Thoroughly Modern Millie". It's set in the 20's with FABULOUS FUN music and lots of dancing (including tap). I'm SO stoked!!

The theatre is semi-professional, meaning, the directors, pit, creative team get paid, but the actors and actresses are volunteer. So, basically, I step up from what I've been doing.

The part I got is "FLANNERY".. I'm the office manager. If you really have time to spare, go to YOU TUBE and search for "Modern Millie Forget About the Boy". The clip (the first one) from the Tony awards shows the big tap number from the show. I will be playing the lady with the funked out wig!! SO EXCITED!

Any Indy-livin' folks, or people close enough to drive over for a show, I'll give dates and details later if you're interested in some theatre. The show will open in March!

Just wanted to share with y'all!

That's GREAT NEWS!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! :dance3:

I wish I could get into doing Theatre I just don't have the time to dedicate to it right now. I belong to our local film group, though. So I still get to do some acting which I LOVE!

Thank you! What do you do with your local film group? Produce films? Create things? Just curious!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! And good luck with the part!

Thank you! I'm a bit nervous about it, since I feel like I'm in the "bigger time" now! (That's not quite the "big time" yet!);)

I found this on a cast member blog. Just thought it was interesting! I get some of these, but some are a mystery.. only to be solved in 30 years, when I'm retired and working at WDW!!

You know you’re a Cast Member when:

All your conversations start with “One time at Disney . . .”
You never point with one finger.
You’ve worked with or lived with people from every state and at least 5 other countries.
You know where all of your friends are every Monday night.
You know that “my Friday” could easily fall on a Tuesday (and it probably does).
Wendy’s, Taco Bell, Earl of Sandwich… enough said.
You can calmly say “Yes, the wait really is 30 minutes” 50 times within 10 minutes.
You know what an alpha-unit is.
You know what a protein spill is, and you can smell Voban from 50 feet away.
You speak fluent ‘radio’: 101, 102, 103, 56, 10-4, 10-9 . . .
You know where someone can find any Disney character at any time (or at least CHIP knows).
You know what CHIP is.
You never wait for more than 10 minutes for any attraction.
Anything heartwarming that happens is now a “Magical Moment.”
You can spot a hidden Mickey anywhere.
You regret not having a FastPass every time you have to wait in a line.
You know it’s a costume, not a uniform.
You can spot a Mickey antennae on any car that is a mile away.
You can recite preshows and even entire attraction spiels without even thinking about it.
You have saved a baby elephant from deadly poachers several times.
You use the following terms in normal conversation: ADO, ER, MK, the tunnels, DAK, PI, Vista, Commons, Chatham forgetting that no one has a clue what you’re talking about.
You start friendly conversations with complete strangers.
You know how to perfectly plan your day so that you can see both Illuminations and Wishes.
You avoid skipping class more than 3 days in a row and 9 times in 90 days for fear of being kicked out of class.
Anytime you go anywhere you wonder what the story is behind the particular place.
"The Man" now becomes “The Mouse”.
You know the colors of all the Monorails.
Any WDW commercial brings a tear to your eyes.
You know that one of the nighttime shows that is impossible to miss is the “Stroller Races down Main Street”.
You have the overwhelming urge to offer to take people’s pictures.
You know how to smile and politely answer the question “Why is it raining?” (YES, we seriously get that one.)
You think nothing of walking up to lost people and offering directions.
You can spend a day at WDW without going on any rides and you still have the time of your life.
You have seen the backside of water.
Guests ask you for directions… when you aren’t in costume.
You can speak Spanish…or at the least the Spanish part of the monorail. “Por favor mantengase alejado de las puertas.”
You know what “EPCOT” stands for.
It’s not unusual to have lunch at a pub in England and have dinner at a sushi bar in Japan while stopping at Norway for a quick dessert.
You can drive a Pargo like a race car.
You love using doors that open “Automagically.”
You know that Ghiardelli’s gives away free chocolate…and you have a hat to get that second piece…
You know how to answer the question “Do you know what time the 3 o’clock parade is?” (Most common asked question!!!)
You know where all the dirty references are in each and every disney movie!! (Yes, there are many of them!!!)
Not “customers”, but “guests.”
You know what it is like to actually “live” where you work.
When the mouse becomes the rat.
When all customer service sucks outside.

I saw "Thoroughly Modern Millie" here on Broadway, it was a good show.

:rotfl: That list was great!

Our film group is a network of people who are interested in all aspects of independant filmmaking. Such as screenwriters, directors, actors, camera crew, editors. We are all interested in learning more from each other as well as getting our work shown. We have also started an annual Film Festival locally. It's really been a hit with our community, and it's a lot of fun.:) Sometimes screenwriters attempt to get their scripts read by someone in LA and sometimes we create the films here.

Do you remember if you saw Sutton Foster as Millie?! If you did, I am COMPLETELY jealous of you! I had never even heard of this musical until last year (a local dinner theatre did it) and now I'm addicted to it!

Wasn't the list fun? I have too much time on my hands.. I don't know what I'll do when school starts back up tomorrow.. back to work, I guess!;)

Your film group sounds interesting!

Congratulations on the part that's great news :thumbsup2

THANKS! :)

Congrats on the part-I saw the touring company a few years ago.

Soooooooo funny, the more I read the more and more we are alike. I too have told Tim COUNTLESS times that when we retire and move to Disney I would make a good Godmother :rotfl: Maybe we can share the costume;) . We say we want to move to Orlando all the time too but just like you are so rooted here with our families, careers and church too that it is just a dream we know we will get to after retirement!
Well, can't wait to hear all about your trip, you are going to have so much fun. Do you have a top list of things you want to do when you are alone? I am starting to think about that with tim and I when we are kid free.
