Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread

karenTX, I've seen some delicious looking cakes on this thread from 'Ohana, but I think they were 8" cakes. I believe the 6" cakes aren't customizable, but I'm not positive. Is there a number for 'Ohana on page 1? I'd call and ask them what they can do for you. The two cakes I clearly remember seeing from 'Ohana were both chocolate and looked SO good!

We have dinner booked next week for my husbands birthday at le cellier and when I called about a cake the guy told me the smallest cake i can get is the 8inch (i think) it's 25.00 and you could pick white or choc and white or choc icing....that was it. It feeds like 8 people and there is only the 4 of us but there wasn't another choice so I had to take it. I have no idea what I will do with the leftovers since we are staying for late pm hours at the park.....Any thoughts on what I can do with the cake???
Denise

If you really don't want to carry the cake around with you, then you could always share with neighboring tables... spread a little pixie dust. :wizard:

I will be staying at POR for valentines day...does anyone know of a bakery that will deliver a cake to our room and some tuxedo strawberries or do they only deliver to deluxe resorts? Thanks for any info

You may need to call POR about that. Boardwalk, and GF are not going to deliver. Last word on the street was that if you did have GF deliver something there is a 75 dollar fee for it. You can call Boardwalk and arrange it so you can pick the cake up. I would call and see about picking it up if this is something you might be able to do.

But...is the 6" a nice special order type cake that I can customize or is it the frozen generic, stick a happy birthday (or anniversary, or whatever) sign on it and go? You know, the white cake, white icing and colored sprinkles one.

This is the 6" cake I ordered from Ohana to be delivered to the Spirit of Aloha dinner show...

In my opinion, don't waste your money on the 6" cake. If you want a nice cake, you'll have to go for the 8" which costs twice as much but I'm sure has to taste twice as good. It's not hard to improve on Crisco and sugar frosting! :crazy2:

:lmao:

Plus the 8" can be customized. :thumbsup2

Thank you so much! That was exactly what I was thinking the 6" cake was!! :crazy2: Well, looks like we'll be getting the 8" and bringing the rest back to the room with us! I'll have to remember to pack the tupperware! ;)

How do I order a cake for Ohana's? I would like a custom cake. Thanks :cool1: pixiedust:

This is the phone number from the first page. O'hana 407-824-2165

If that doesn't work, call 407-WDWDINE and ask who to call for a custom order cake from 'Ohana. :thumbsup2

Anyone have any idea if the bakeries will deliver to Marrakesh? Marrakesh doesn't serve cakes there and we are celebrating a birthday the night of our reservation. I tried GF Bakery they said they don't deliver to Epcot which I thought kind of odd since they deliver to hotels - I wouldn't think there would be much of a difference. The manager at Marrakesh told me to pick the cake up and bring it to them when we get to the park and they would gladly store it for the day - the problem being we don't get into Orlando till late afternoon and won't have time to go pick it up - in addition - it will ruin the surprise when I tell my sil I have to go pick up her birthday cake before going to the park :scratchin Wasn't sure if anyone else ran into this? I did email the MK bakery off the link from the first post - haven't heard back from them yet though.

You might have better luck with the Boardwalk Bakery, since it's right near Epcot. We were told that GF would deliver our cake, for a $75 fee. I opted to pick it up instead. $75 to deliver a $40 cake wasn't in my budget. We were dining at Chef Mickey's though, so it wasn't any trouble to monorail to GF and then on to CR for dinner. At least at Boardwalk Bakery, if you need to pick it up, it won't take long. You might even be able to come up with some excuse to cover your absence for 20 minutes or so... send SIL into American Adventure or something, lol, while you pick it up.

Does any know if Ohana's and Chef Mickeys have homemade cakes or are they the frozen ones? It sounds like the grand floridian has great cakes. We are staying at Shades of Green. Does anyone know if they do cakes?

logabbmom,

Last year I was wearing my birthday button on my jacket when we had lunch at Marrakesh. They brought out a dessert that was huge and did not charge us a thing. It was delicious!!! The dessert was a crispy pastry thingy with ice cream and honey, yum. They did not charge us for it and no one told them it was my bday. They must have seen my button before I took my jacket off. If you cannot get a cake to the restaurant, this dessert was great and fed about 3 people. They brought it out with candles and sang happy bday in Morrocan.

I finally made a decision. I just called the GF Bakery and ordered...

8" Vanilla cake
Vanilla buttercream frosting
Raspberry mousse filling
Cinderella and Prince Charming decorations
pink flowers (if possible, because our wedding was pink and white)
"Happy 10th Anniversary"

Total cost: $55! That's like $25 for the cake and $30 for decorations!!!

BTW, I was given several phone numbers:
GF Private Dining (407)824-2578
GF Private Dining (407)824-2474
GF Bakery (407) 824-2982

I called the first number which I got from this thread, but the recording said Private Dining, instead of the Bakery like I was expecting. So I called (407)WDW-DINE and was given the second private dining number to order a cake. So I call them. They told me I had to talk to the Bakery, and I was given that phone number. So I called the Bakery. I explained why I was calling and then I was told to call Private Dining. I said, "I just got off the phone with them and they told me to call you." So she said, "They must not be able to take it right now" so she took my order.

Also while on the phone with WDW-DINE, I got the direct number to the Garden View Lounge so I can verify my order on that day. And I made it VERY clear that this is a surprise for DH, "so don't let the host/hostess at the podium at Garden View Lounge ask me if I have a cake infront of him!" LOL

I can't believe I'm gonna be in Disney World in 8 days!!! :scared1: :cloud9:

Hey Amber... quick question... exactly what kind of decorations are the Cinderella/Prince Charming? Stand-up (or pop-up), edible? I guess I'm lost here as to what could cost so much. Would be very cool to have them on a cake though!

Thanks,
Terry

I'm not sure. :confused3 I was hoping to get the Cinderella and Prince Charming wedding cake topper, but I didn't request it. I guess I'll find out in one week! :goodvibes

I have seen different things posted about getting a cake at LTT. Can you special order a cake from LTT like thru Main St. Bakery and have them deliver it to LTT or can you order a special order cake right from LTT or do they only have the 6 inch frozen ones. thanks for any information on this.

Yes please do let us know and post a pic as well. I wanna get a cake in december for our anniversary and if the decorations arent edible it would be perfect for us. Our wedding was cinderella theme, so thats why Im either wanting a mini castle cake or non edible decorations of cinderella and prince charming. This will be our 3rd wedding anniversary coming up in august but we're celebrating it in december.
