Hey there! :goofy:
First of all...let me say in advance, I do apologize if this is a repeat (most likely) of a previous post!!
(My only true excuse is, I'm new here and it's late! LOL)
Second...HELP!! :earseek: hee hee
I am bringing my mom to WDW for her 60th birthday! (Please don't tell her I told you its her 60th! LOL) I was able to rent some points for a studio @ SSR. I would love to suprise her with a cake in our room (if possible) like the small castle cake (there's only 2 of us!) or something along those lines. :cake:
Does anybody know if they will deliver a cake to a room at SSR and which restaraunt/bakery I should contact to order it? Everything that I've seen says I need to order in advance and we are going Jan. 15th-18th.
Also, we plan to eat at the Hollywood & Vine Buffet for dinner one night but, do they have an actual cake there?
Any help would be VERY appreciated! :worship:

:tinker: Thanks! Kellie

:tinker: Hey there!
Just thought I would pass this along...called SSR today and was transfered to Olivia's @ OKW. They make the cake there since SSR doesn't have a regular bakery I guess. Then the cake is sent over to the store at SSR to be picked up anytime after 5PM. (SSR doesn't deliver to rooms.) Which is good because we'll be back later that evening and probably be craving sweets!!!! (The healthiest of all travel foods CAKE!!! hehe)
I ordered a 8" because she said that they can't really personalize the 6" (even though it'll be way more cake than two of us can eat!!) I got Vanilla cake with white chocolate filling. Kari Anne in the kitchen was very nice & was so cute when I said it was for my mom's 60th and that she was my best friend, she gave me an aaaawwwww! LOL Cute!
Okay...now...nothing left but, make the Fantasmic Dinner reservations...thank goodness!!!! :woohoo: I'm beat already and I haven't gone on the actual vacation!! LOL

I don't remember an actual "cake" at Hollywood and Vine (we went in April 2006). The food there is comparable to Golden Corral or other cafeteria type buffets.

I think the question was about having a *birthday cake* at H&V. I don't see why not, but I personally don't get the point of ordering one:confused: Buffets are usually pretty well varried in the desserts areapopcorn:: Maybe for a different meal that isnt a buffet?

It will be my husbands 41st birthday. Any ideas for dinner and cake? We will have our 2 girls with us.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that has been so helpful with this post. I ordered a Mickey cake for DD's b'day @ Chef Mickey's and it was fabulous!!!! We also had a great time as Donald decided he was going to be very mischevious. He used the cake knife and put a clever in Mickey's head. All of us as well as the tables around us got a big kick out of his antics.

Here are a couple of pics:

That cake is so cute! We will be celebrating my ds's B'day at CM in March and I was wondering who you called to order it?:wizard: And the cost?? Thanks!

I was wondering the same. We will be celebrating my youngest DD's birthday while at DW this July. Where did you order the cake from? Did you have to pick it up or was it delivered to Chef Mickey's for you? What flavor did you order? How much was it? Thanks for all the great pictures!!!:cool1:

Just wanted to thank everyone who posted on this thread. Because of this thread we ordered the chocolate Mickey head cake at CP and mini castle cake at GFC. They were great! We had already had the mini castle cake on another trip with the chocolate slipper but the chocolate mickey head cake was an even bigger hit!

I just wanted to post that I just got off the phone with the GF private dining line. I was able to order an 8" vanilla cake with custard/strawberry filling, chocolate buttercream icing, and chocolate ganache. I was also able to confirm Ariel/The Little Mermaid standup desorations. The charge for the cake is $55, and they wouldn't let me use the DDE discount. I AM however allowed to pick up the cake at the Gasparilla Grill counter.:yay: I am picking it up at 5:45pm for our 6:30 ADR at CP. :bday:

I finally made a decision. I just called the GF Bakery and ordered...

8" Vanilla cake
Vanilla buttercream frosting
Raspberry mousse filling
Cinderella and Prince Charming decorations
pink flowers (if possible, because our wedding was pink and white)
"Happy 10th Anniversary"

Total cost: $55! That's like $25 for the cake and $30 for decorations!!!

BTW, I was given several phone numbers:
GF Private Dining (407)824-2578
GF Private Dining (407)824-2474
GF Bakery (407) 824-2982

I called the first number which I got from this thread, but the recording said Private Dining, instead of the Bakery like I was expecting. So I called (407)WDW-DINE and was given the second private dining number to order a cake. So I call them. They told me I had to talk to the Bakery, and I was given that phone number. So I called the Bakery. I explained why I was calling and then I was told to call Private Dining. I said, "I just got off the phone with them and they told me to call you." So she said, "They must not be able to take it right now" so she took my order.

Also while on the phone with WDW-DINE, I got the direct number to the Garden View Lounge so I can verify my order on that day. And I made it VERY clear that this is a surprise for DH, "so don't let the host/hostess at the podium at Garden View Lounge ask me if I have a cake infront of him!" LOL

I can't believe I'm gonna be in Disney World in 8 days!!! :scared1: :cloud9:

I cant wait to go in September, we are planning on celebrating Faith's first birthday when we go, she was born in August but we cant go then. I cant make up my mind on what kind of cake to order her.

:tinker: Hello All!
Just wanted to let ya know really fast that the number listed for Olivia's is wrong. I got the VP of Disney Engineering teehee! She was really super nice tho! :thumbsup2 The number is actually 407-827-7700. Just thought since I had the info that I'd share!
As they say at Disney Reservations...Have a Magical Day!! :wizard:

Well congrats on finally making the decision! I've sat here for days on end and STILL can't make up my mind for our anniversary cake. Meanwhile, my daughter came over last night, and within 20 minutes or so knew exactly what she wanted! ARGH! :lmao:

Here's a question for everyone (and if it's been posted, I missed it): I know the front page has #'s for Epcot restaurants, but has anyone ordered a cake from Le Cellier or L'Originale Alfredo di Roma? I saw a "cannoli" (sp?) but that was it. Would love to see pics if anyone has them.

I'm sorry if I'm repeating something that's already been asked and answered. I want to surprise my parents with a cake for their 30th Anniversary during our trip in July. I want to order the Mini Castle cake from the Grand Floridian Bakery and eat it at the Cali Grill. Does anyone know if the GF will deliver it or if I have to pick it up? I'd really like it to be a surprise, so it would be better if it could be delivered.

Thanks!

From what I understand, the GF will deliver, but they charge you $75. :scared1:

As for pick-up, I'd call them. Some CMs say no pick-up, but one Disser got a CM who let them pick up their cake at Gasparilla Grill. :confused3

I called yesterday and spoke with a gal named Linda @ GF. I had decided that I really wanted the little castle cake instead of a plain one from Olivia's @ OKW. She was really nice and said they didn't deliver to SSR but, that I could pick up at Gasparilla Grill on Monday afternoon! YEAH!!! :cool1:

Awesome!!! :thumbsup2

Sorry if this has already been asked on here but I don't have time to search the entire thread. (DD's naptime is getting too short!)

My DH's birthday is the week we are at WDW. Ohana's will be the first night dinner and I'd like to have a cake delivered. I was thinking about the 6" since there is only the 3 of us. But...is the 6" a nice special order type cake that I can customize or is it the frozen generic, stick a happy birthday (or anniversary, or whatever) sign on it and go? You know, the white cake, white icing and colored sprinkles one. I know DH would like something a little more special then that one due to this being the "BIG" birthday! ;)

Thanks for whatever help you all can send my way!!
