Zumba anyone?

My neighbor has been going to Zumba dance classes twice a week at our local rec center. I'm going with her tomorrow to try it out. She swears it's fun. Anyone else Zumba? Anyone lost weight? I'm dieting and need to add some excercise at least 4 times a week.
 
Zumba IS fun! I started this month going to Zumba and as I told the
instructor "I don't have a dancing bone in my body." But I just do what I can and it is actually the most enjoyable exercise I have ever done. I have taken classes with two different instructors and one of them uses choreography that is much more complicated than the other. So I can follow the easier one better but I still get my exercise in the more complicated class--as long as you're moving it's fine. This will be a enjoyable way for you to add some exercise to your plan. I have lost a few pounds--also doing other classes like "Body Pump" and really changed eating habits.
 
I've never taken it but I was waiting for my youngest soccer class to get over at the park district. All of a sudden, I heard this upbeat fun music & I thought it was a dance class for adults. I checked out the program book, it was Zumba. They all looked like they were having so much fun.

It defintiely looked like a type of exercise class I could enjoy.

Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents out there that it sure LOOKED like a really fun class.
 
I've been "Zumba-ing" since the beginning of January. I LOVE it!! I have not lost a lot on the scale yet, but I do see a difference in my clothes. I have not changed my eating habits much, although I should cut out the sweets! :rolleyes1

The instructor at my gym is AWESOME....she said in her class, you'll burn 800 calories in an hour...easy. :thumbsup2

It's a lot of fun!! Enjoy!!

I go once a week. It's one of the few cardios that really work my core. It's a lot of fun and even though you're working hard, you won't feel tortured at all. Give it a try!

With that said, I LOVE ZUMBA:thumbsup2, it is my favorite class at the gym. Ive done spinning,.muscle toning, step, but Zumba is the most fun. Each class is different, some say u dont get a good workout as other things. I think it depends on the class, who is teaching it, and how much you move. You dont really jump around a lot, but u do a lot of hip shaking, and foot/dance moves and the more u move, the more u sweat.

Some people love it, others do not. It is a lot of fun for me.
 
I Zumba 3-4x a week, every week and have been doing it for about a year now. I do it mostly for fun as I don't need to lose any weight. I absolutely love it and have a blast every class. My friends and I go and laugh and giggle our way through class. Our instructor(s) are all awesome and play different music and do different steps each class, so it is always changing, but it is also easy to catch on. We have some serious people in our class that wear all the Zumba gear including the shoes.

If you like upbeat music and like to dance and shake your booty, you will love to Zumba!
