Zoom Whitening, have you had it?

I won a Zoom Whitening treatment last night at my children's spring festival. It says its a 475 dollar value and the gift certificate if for my dentist.

Just wondering if anyone has had this done and if so what did you think? I'm really excited about it.

I had it done a few months ago, my teeth lightened considerably (still not white because I was given tetracycline a lot when I was a child). The dentist will probably do a pre-exam and an impression. You will receive a plastic mold to put peroxide gel in after the treatment to help keep your teeth light. Following the treatment you will not be able to drink coffee or cola or eat "red" foods, like berries for 3 days as your teeth will be slightly porous and will stain.

The treatment itself isn't too bad. To prep they will shield your lips and gums, and put a stretcher in that holds your lips open. The swap on a layer of gel an treat it with a light, this is repeated 2 more times. Your teeth may be sensitive afterwards for a few days, though it will vary with each individual. Mine were not sensitive.

I think it was worth the $$, especially compared to other alternatives.

I had it done too. It cost $500, so the value is correct. It took atleast 10 years off the appearance of my teeth. Much whiter.

The treatment itself was not painful or uncomfortable at all. My Dentist let me watch a movie while it was bleaching... the time went by very quickly.

Afterwards I had a very slight sensitivity to cold on my 2 front teeth but it went away after a day or so. I also opted for the plastic trays to keep bleaching... it's been 3 years now and they still look great.

I'm hoping to have this done when I get these stupid braces off (I'm only 3 mos. into my treatment). Thanks for the heads up. Gives me something to work toward.
