Zit remedys...

I have very good skin (I'm really fortunate) but I developed this killer zit over the last 48 hours! It's huge and hard and painful to the touch! Is this a zit? My normal zapper/mask isn't working! What do I do?!

I swear by teatree oil! Works like a charm if you start applying as soon as you are aware of your blemish.

It may not be too late though...

I just read something that said to crush an aspirin, make a paste with a little water and put it on for a few minutes, then rinse it off and it should dry right up. I've never tried it, but it is from one of those "home remedy" books.

I have a friend who swears by a warm compress.

You might also try some witch hazel to see if that will help clear it up. It is supposed to help draw out impurities from the pores.

I also use a blemish stick by Burt's bee's. It seems to help expedite the process---so that it can try and get it over with more quickly.

I agree about the toothpaste. Glob some on there and sleep with it on it overnight. Wash it off with warm water in the morning and it will have shrunk. Good Luck!!

Don't touch it without washing your hands first. The bacteria from your fingers will make it worse.

I have yet to have a toothpaste remedy work for me.

Does anyone know why---perhaps different skin types, different solutions that will work?

Not sure there's really anything that works on the huge hard ones. I lose patience and pick, but that only makes it way worse. Time and patience...

YES!!!! I use HOT, as HOT as I can stand and apply pressure. It hurts a bit, but festers up and relieves itself by morning with a lil help OR just goes away slowly, without the pain.

That's what I use. I get it hot about 3 times. Ring it out, you don't want it dripping all over you. But HOT! Press hard. Good luck! You'll know what to do in the morning. Hoping you get one that doesn't come to a head. If you aren't that lucky, get it open and let it out then leave it alone. That's what I've done. Been successful that way and like I said, sometimes they just begin to disappear without that route. If not, it will soon after you relieve the pressure. If it's near your nasal cavity, don't do anything other than HOT washcloth.

I swear by (dont laugh) Preparation H cream (yes it's supposed to go on the "other end") . Buy yourself a fresh tube and use it a few times a day. It works better than the toothpaste and really reduces the swelling.
