Anyone out there taken this?
The instructions say to take one
tablet every 3 hrs, does this mean
during the night also??

I have taken it. I would think getting up every three hours in the night would be counter-productive and would just take it during the day. They just want you to get some in you at the first sign of a cold.

I think the tablets have a bad aftertaste. I am a fan of the (recalled) nose swabs, I think they really did some good, but unfortunately some people lost their sense of smell.

Honestly, I have a hard time believing the tablets will work.

When zinc was studied, it was found only to work at the site of cold infection--either in the nose or in the pharanyx--so the best remedy was the nasal swabs/gel or the zinc sprayed in the throat or a lozenge.

I work in an office where a couple of the ladies get sick often and I swear by my Zicam. My latest fav are the chewable gels, love them. I do try to chew a tablet every three hours, however, I do not take them during the night. One of my other co-workers has tried them and she doesn't think they work for her, I guess it all depends on the person.

The ones you take by mouth make me sick to my stomach! They also don't seem to help me at all.

I used to swear by the nasal swabs. I wish they still made them. It was pretty clear on the directions to just put them on the ends of your nostrils.

I have used Zicam and zinc at the first hint of a cold and have not actually gotten a cold in years. I suck on the zinc lozenges.

I have used Zicam in the past, but they taste AWFUL. They do work though.

A couple of weeks before Christmas, I was starting with a cold, and bought Airborne tablets. You put them in water and they fizz (like Alka-Seltzer). You drink this every three hours, which I did for two or three days. I did not get a full-blown cold, and only had to deal with a runny nose.

I prefer the Airborne...it tastes better (no after taste either).

ETA: I never took either throughout the night. In fact, I think Airborne is every three hours, but not to exceed three times a day.
