Every shelf in every pharmacy and grocery store in my area has an empty spot where there should be Zicam swabs. They've got all the other Zicam stuff but I don't think the others work as well. Apparently no one else does.
Can you get 'em?

I believe Zicam has been recalled due to the swabs and sprays effecting peoples sense of smell and taste adversely. It has been at least a couple of months since I heard it.

I believe they have a class action lawsuit against them right now because they have ruined people's sense of smell, so I think they have all been removed from the shelves, at least they have here anyway.

Correct.
We still have a box at home. When we run out, I worry how well the spray stuff works. I haven't had a full blown cold in years since I started using the nose swabs. it could all be in my head, but who knows.

Zicam is actually very dangerous. The mucous membranes in your nose are not designed to withstand the direct application of zinc that the swabs and spray deliver. It could potentially destroy your sense of smell (and taste) permanently.

Just go get some vitamin C.

There was a link on the manufacturers website about the recall and how they would send you a coupon i think for one of their other products after you entered some information off of the zicam's box.

Zicam is also a tablet - same great ingredients, but does not affect your sense of smell.

I still have a few of the swabs also, but yes they have been discontinued. I like the oral mist best. Those tablets are disgusting to me. I truly believe in Zicam and I add Cold-ezze. Last Wednesday I was coming down with a cold. I started right away with Claratin, Ziacam, and Cold-ezze and by Saturday is was completely gone. Before I started this several years ago, every time I got a cold, it always turned into Bronchitis. It may not work for everyone, but my daughter and I swear by it.

Overdosing on Vitamin C is pretty dangerous too. While I appreciate your warning, I think I'll make my own judgement based on my personal experience which tells me that Zicam swabs and my body are a good fit. Btw, I followed the instructions and just gingerly lined the edge of my nose. I'm guessing some people just stuck the swab up there. Lots of people NEVER read instructions which seems to be the problem in this case. I talked to the Zicam people yesterday. They voluntarily took this product off the shelf pending FDA investigation.

For those interested, the woman I spoke to said they have a new product that most of them are excited about called Zavor. It's just been released and they feel it's as effective as the swabs.
So, I'm on the hunt for Zavor. They also were pretty positive about the cherry instamelts and results. It's results I'm looking for.

I use Emergen-C, echinacea and Airborne to bolster my immune system in this cold and flu season. I'm exposed to almost everything in my job. My hands are dry and itchy from all the washing - I hyper moisturize at night. Maybe this year I'll just weat a mask too, jk

BTW, If you're not going to use your leftover swabs, send them to me!!! Pm me and I'll give you my address!! :)

Overdosing on anything is dangerous. However, one does not need to OD on Zicam to damage their nasal pasages. You can do that just by following the directions. If you like the product and don't mind assuming the risk, then bully for you.

My little neighborhood pharmacy has a box of Zicam swabs sitting on the shelf. I guess they didn't get the memo. PM me if you want it. :)
