Sorry if this subject was brought up before, search will not work for me today. I bought this product to try, started yesterday with the sneezing, stuffy nose crap, and got up this morning with that droopy head syndrome starting. I take a flu shot, so know I don't have the flu, and thought, I'm going to the drugstore and get some of that Zicam stuff and give it a try.

Been dosing it about every 2 hrs. (didn't get the swabs, got the gel you squirt) and I really don't have a stuffy nose anymore and don't feel that nasal drip down my throat.

I've decided even if it is a psychological thing, I FEEL a little better. Will see how I feel in several days.

Any opinions welcome!:)

dh has tried it and he said it worked well for him. i'm going to try some next time i get a cold. :)

hope you feel better soon! :)

It WORKS, I swear by the stuff. By the way, do the gel every FOUR hours, not every two. :)

I got the nasal swab kind for kids for my daughter too and that definitely shortened the duration and lessened the severity of her last cold. I use it the SECOND I feel even the slightest twinge of a cold and have not been sick at all this winter. The trick is to use it EARLY, it's less effective if you are already in the full-blown sickness stage.

My dh also used it a few weeks ago and he really thought it helped with his symptoms. I haven't had a chance to try it yet (knock wood!) but next time I get a cold, I think I will use it.

I just started using it again this morning. I used it several months ago and I felt that it made a big difference. 2 of my kids are sick and my dh is just getting over a sinus thing, so I'm hoping this does the trick!

Glad to hear others having good results. Michelle, the directions say every 2-4 hours in beginning stages, that was why I was going with the every 2 or so. I also read on their website the same thing. It does appear to be helping a little, so will stretch out the dosage a little to fall into that 2 to 4 hr. span. Glad to know it helped with the little ones too, I might get some kid swabs to keep in the medicine chest for the little ones who always seem to have something or other this winter.

Wow, something that actually might help a cold! The inventors of this should be proud!

I think it's great- worth the $11, anyway. I'm curious to see if it works on future colds, or if this time was jsut a coincidence. I certainly hope I've found a way to shorten my horrible colds!

I've used it twice and I do think it does help keep the worst of the cold symptoms away. I would use it any time I think I have a cold again!

When I felt this one coming on, I felt I would try anything. The last cold I had was a doozy, got in in mid November and could not shake the darn thing! I coughed and blew my nose for weeks, figuring I had most likely blown all my brains away or coughed them up! It was awful, so I'm hoping this $10.50 is partially well spent. I don't want to be walking around for 6 weeks with another cold like that one...Disney World is coming up soon, gotta be healthy!!!

Thanks for all the opinions:D

I'm a believer..I just used this nasal gel about a month ago and I'll swear it helped knock out two weeks of misery! I'm going to try the Allergy formula next since I suffer from those as well.

I haven't tried it yet. My Dad swears by though. He says that it feels yucky in your nose. I guess you have to shoot this gel stuff up your nose or something. I believe that it would have to work quite well in order for him to want to squirt more stuff into his nose!

I was a tried and true Cold-Eeze user until I read about Zicam late in the fall. I used Zicam 2 weeks ago immediately when I felt my throat getting scratchy and used it every 2 hours. It worked WONDERFULLY! It definately shortened the cold and lessened the symptoms. And I found it very easy to use. The gel did not bother my nose at all - I was pleasantly surprised.
So no more sucking on yucky tasting Cold-eeze for me Baby! It's Zicam all of the way! :)

BTW - it is the same active ingredient in both Cold-eeze and Zicam - Zinc. Zinc seems to be the cure for the common cold! YEAH!!! :)
