Anyone watching the Breeders Cup? What a gorgeous horse she is!

I am, of course, watching. Have a whole party of folks over (although I'm the only one glued to the TV). Yes, Zenyatta is amazing. If she can win today....well...history will be made. I'm not 100% sure of her, though. Maybe 80%. We'll have to see!

I hope she wins too, but I have a weakness for greys, so Paddy OPrada is a favorite also.

Did you see where they said Zenyatta's stride at a full out run was 26 feet?!?

She was acting very strange before getting to the gate. Too bad she didn't make it - it was an incredible comeback.

sorry, i just want to make money. and a lot of it.

go musketman

ohnoes....bad bet.;):lmao: What place was musketman?

Good run by Zenyatta. She just ran out of track. Definitely horse of the year in my eyes.

I thought she was going to catch him! I was screaming my head off it was so exciting! It's too bad she had such a bad start and got stuck on the last turn :(.

The "acting strange" (pawing and etc.) and the "bad start" (starting at the back of the pack), were both totally normal for Zenyatta. She just got outrun, by a good horse (though not the one I expected). Good race, and in all honesty, I'm not at all disturbed by the outcome. I like the fact that she's not invicible. It makes her a bit more "real" for this horse racing fan. My heroes don't have to be undefeated. Think Usain Bolt has never lost a race in his entire life? No, of course he has at some point, but it doesn't make him any less amazing.

Thanks Zenyatta, for all the memories, and for bringing horse racing to the forefront of the American consciousness. I have my doubts about your ability to be a good broodmare, but I invite you to prove me wrong.

That is...if you manage to stay retired this time.

Yes, she does come from behind but she was farther back than she usually is.

Hmmm nice post but I'd still rather her be undefeated. :lmao:

It broke my heart to see her get beaten. :sad1: I so hoped she would finish undefeated. What an incredible mare she is! :thumbsup2 May all her babies grow up to be as special as she.

We watched that here also. What an incredible run. What got me was that before she took off, she was getting further behind. They just seemed to outpace her at the beginning. But wow, what a turn of foot. That was awesome. I've never seen her run before. I'd love to see a race with both her and So You Think.
