Ok I thought this would be fun and I tried it...the hearts came out ok but not as I hoped. The snow flakes don't show up well in the silver glitter glue....Not to say I won't play around with it more but wow does it use a lot of glue!

I have been wanting to try it but I am trying to figure it all out. do you put the glue on the page or do you put it on a table and fight to get it up still alot of questions I have not found any sites to read about it. do you know of one?

This is what I did. I got it from CK mag. I put wax paper down. Then I melted a glob of glue then I put ink on my stamp and plopped in the glue. Let the glue cool. Then I used my finger nail and peeled of the stamp. I think my problem is I don't like the glue edges so I cut them off and I do have a nice heart shape thing to work with BUt it is very expensive! you need to use a lot of glue and if you are using the glitter sticks, on stick almost makes 2 (1x1 stamp size)

thanks that is a great idea. do you think it is worth the money for the pain that it is?

I almost bought a new glue gun the other day (lost mine a Brownies a year ago)...
then I decided to see how you all did with this!

can you chalk it after or something to see if that makes it stand out more?

yes you can add color after it is don't I put more ink on to make it stand out. I like the look and it was fun to play with but I don't think it is on my top of the to do list!

Memory Makers has this technique in the year end Idea Gallery.

They suggest using the plain glue sticks and adding 1 drop of acrylic paint to the hot glue, mixing it up using a toothpick and then stamping it to get a colored "wax seal." Since you can get the clear ones for a good price (I've found them for as little as 20/$1.00 ) it may be something to look into trying. This may also be one of those projects that shows up better when you use darker/deeper colors over white/clear. (or use those metallic rub-ons to highlight your stamped image.) MM also recommends triming the seals with scissors to make a smoother edge.

There is a powder called perfect pearls that I use to add color to stamped UTEE . You can put it in the groves of the stamped image with a paint brush.

There is also a special ink that will stamp on anything that a lot of people use when they are not stamping on paper. The name of it escapes me (I don't have any yet). If I think of it I'll edit.

is it the VersaMagic stamp?
Just got one in my Club Scrap Pizza Box -
can't wait to try it with UTEE on a summer pool page!
