We had a huge maple tree cut down this spring. The bottom of the trunk is still left...about 3 feet in diameter and about 6 inches high. Even though the tree was dying, there is still a large amount of sap oozing out of the trunk. It has no place to run to and puddles on the trunk. Mix old sap and what little heat and sunshine we have had in PA, it causes quite a stink!

Is there anything I can do to eliminate this????

Thanks!
Karen

Why not rent a stump grinder from your local Home Depot or other hardware store and get rid of the stump? I know they have chemicals you can put on the stump to get rid of it (over time) and you can also burn it out.

If it were me, I'd use the stump grinder...
