YUCK! AK is in a MESS!

Yesterday we were going to see the Safari ride in AK but to get there we had to walk through the worst looking mess of a Disney park area I've ever seen.
There were wires dangling from rusty poles.
Paint missing on buildings.
The ground was stained from who knows what.
The restroom buildings were covered with old posters that people had tried to peel off.
What has happened to the clean-ups that Disney was famous for?
Budget cuts are ruining the place.
I heard there are less people coming to Disneyworld and I can see why.

We just decided not to even try the Safari.
If that's how Disney keeps its buildings we figured the Safari trucks should be a mess and break down out where the animals might hurt us.

We just watched the parade (good, BTW) and then left the park to try and eat somewhere better (Cracker Barrel, just down the freeway).

Tomorrow we are going to go back to AK and try the Everest mountain ride.
That area is NEW, at least so it should not have had time to become so run-down (I hope)!

Just saw the message about the DIRT on the Epcot Ball...
YUCK!

Please tell me this post was a joke.

I was thinking the same thing... YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!

For a minute there you had me going as well... We LOVE AK, the themeing is the best of all the parks, IMHO. Makes you really feel like you are in an African Village.

Okay I am going with everyone else on this and saying You are joking right.

That is the beauty of Disney, they have great themeing and can make you feel like you are really in an African Village as you would find it in Africa. If it was just cute little buildings leading to rides it would be an "amusement park", not a "Theme Park"

For you electricians, see if you can tell which wires in the tangled mess overhead or on utility poles actually feed the hanging lights on the span cables (or feed anything else). Hint: A wire that simply "goes into the stucco" is not live. (That treatment does not comply with the National Electric Code).

But they did tell you up front that you would be out on the safari for two weeks.

This for the OP. When we read your message, we can't tell the tone you internded it to be read. Please at least stick a smile in the message so somebody won't think you were serious.
:thumbsup2

Boy is the OP going to be disappointed when they get to EE and find the same thing :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: !!!

Maybe they're trying to match Universal's cleanliness and maintenance standards?

:stir:

Just kidding!!!

(but we Disney folks really know I'm not) :rotfl2:

Hmmmm...this reminds me of the post a while back by the person who thought all the animals on the Safari were fake-but she was serious. :teeth: I hope this one isn't.

OMG, Id love to read that one :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

MickeysBestPal I have to warn you....if you think AK is awful, do not even attempt to go through the Haunted Mansion!!! The cleaning crew there is awful.....dust, cobwebs, dust bunnies everywhere. I've been back through Master Gracy's several times over the past several years and I've tried to leave a "Merry Maids" cleaning card, but I can never catch him "hanging around."

(ppsssttt....yes, this is a joke, this is only a joke, now please return to your original Disboard, this has been a joke. :teeth: )

You forgot to mention how filthy ToT was too... that place really does look like it's been left in a state of disrepair! They couldn't even be bothered to fix the broken elevator...

I was about to go crazy. Animal Kingdom is the park that is most detailed and for someone to think of it as a mess! Jeez! :lmao: You had me too! I will admit.
