What in the heck does this mean? You've been Rick Rolled. I saw it a couple of times on youtube and I cracked up when I saw it but is there some kind of inside joke or is it just a goofy thing to do?

Well either way, it made me laugh.

I still don't quite get it, but it's an internet gag. Normally kids will send another kid a link, thinking its a different website, but they actually get sent to the Rick Rolled site.

I was actually Rick Rolled three times the other day. It gets sort of annoying! But hey it's a good song!

Well, I just found this on UrbanDictionary.com:

RICK ROLL:
When what you think is a link to something you want to see actually directs you to a video of Rick Astley singing "Never Gonna Give You Up." This is common in the WoW community.

Cracks me up! (I'm just a 12 year old at heart). I think I'll do this to some people at work next week.:rotfl:

I think the Mets got rick rolled on opening day.

I actually saw Rick Astley in concert - a friend wanted to go :rolleyes1 I have to say the guy was so laid back and cool that I found him attractive.

I actually heard an interview with Rick Astley the other day. He thought the whole thing was pretty hilarious. And he's taking it as a compliment. I think he's a really good sport about it.

He does have a great voice, I wonder why we never hear about him in the U.S. anymore?

This is pretty old. It started with gamers, so I got RickRolled around the time it began, thanks to my kids (one of whom is a Merciless Warrior in the WoW game.) And I am periodically RickRolled to this day because they think it is funny that I defended Rick. Doubly funny after Uncle Cool told them I had the album and liked the music. Old mom, so lame.

The youth of America thought long and hard over what they might consider the single lamest thing ever in pop culture to toss at you as a jibe. And they selected Rick Astley.

They send you a link to of something that you'll find interesting. Say, your son's college grades. When you click on it, you get "RickRolled" and get Rick singing.

It's like a "Ha-ha! Got ya!" kind of thing. For the kids and I, it is also, "Your taste in music SUCKED!"

Being RickRolled makes me feel old as dirt.

I can now say this one of the many things I learned on the DIS. I can also officially say I know what Rick Rolled means.:lmao:

I don't mind getting RickRolled. But sometimes they'll use a RickRoll site that won't let you escape. That drive me nuts.

I Rick Rolled my Dad over Thanksgiving. He gets on the web several times a day, so I set his home page to rickroll.net and turned the volume way up. The house would be all quiet and then we hear this loud drumming.....:lmao: Dad jumped outta his chair everytime and hollered an obscenity.

Someone Rick Rolled the Westboro Baptist Church during one of their protests. It was PRICELESS!

I won't link it here, but search youtube for Westboro Rcik Roll.

He does have a great voice, I wonder why we never hear about him in the U.S. anymore?

Hi,They are set to re-release Rick Astley's greatest hits worldwide(the 28th April i believe). There is such a demand for him. They are also re-releasing the song 'Never Gonna Give You Up' and they reckon it will go straight to number 1-especially here in the UK.
This rick rolling started as a gag between friends and has become an internet phenomenom(spell?).x.

What's funny is, the other day at the grocery store this song came on. I started looking around thinking I'd see that guy dancing down the aisles. :rotfl2:
I didn't, but was amused throughout my grocery trip adventure.:goodvibes

I loved the muppets one. I saw it last week. One of my students explained it to me a couple of months ago. But he said he requested that song at our winter formal and the dance floor emptied really quick, so they didn't play the whole thing.

I think there is a you tube video of a guy RR that church that goes and protests all the funerals of Soliders killed in Iraq --They say it is hilarious!
