Your Vacation Box

I shipped water from staples for my last trip. I was between 6-8 dolalrs a case. I figured you could probably pay that for 1 bottle at the park. I ended up shipping 1 case per person. I ended up with 1-2 cases left over for seven people. However, that was when we used to drink soda as well. Both DH and I stopped drinking soda last year. (I dont' even miss it - we used to drink a 2 liter together everyday or more).

The one thing I have to check on for this trip is someone mentioned there may be an additional charge to ship to convention center hotels. Where we are staying at CR it may be the case. But, to me it is totally worth it. I had it shipped the last trip. The bell person brought it right up to our room. They wouldn't even take a tip. So instead of going to the store and lugging cases of water/soda around I think it is definately worth it.

*** The other thing I found at Dollar Tree this week was the single serving packets of Hawaiin Punch, lemonade, etc. There were 10 packets in a box for $1. Watch out for the Snapple ones there are only 4 in each pak. I think they were all the "light" version at our Dollar Tree, but honestly my kids couldn't tell the difference.

Someone asked what nail art is.They are sortof like stickers for your fingers and toenails.You get the little sticker wet and it slides right off the paper and onto your nail let it dry then apply a coat of clear nailpolish!

Just started on my box for a last minute-surprise the kids-driving down for the 1st time ever-to celebrate my younget's sons 3rd birthday trip that we leave for in 12 days......YIKES!
Quick give me a run down of musts for my box!

I started a box for our 1st WDW trip almost 2 year ago and have been adding to it off and on. We are planning on going at the end of September.

autograph books
pens
little backpacks (for the girls to keep their autograph book & pen in)
band aids
kleenex

So we will be flying has anyone try shipping soda down?
I love all the storage Ideas:thumbsup2,but again we will be flying so for most of th storage Ideas we would have to ship them down there. My question Is It worth the shipping cost to save at the value stores?. I always ship a package down so thats not a problem but with the larger Items Its going to cost more.:goodvibes

Instead of shipping water down, you could look at ordering from a place like garden grocer- we ordered from them last trip but we ordered a bunch of things (not just water)- grocery type items like fruit and lunch meats...so if you only need water it may not be a good idea.

We drove down last time, but in our travel box we packed things like purex laudrey sheets, extra qaurters for washer/dryers, glow bracelets/neckalaces, M&M candy tubes filled with pennies and quarters for pressed penny machines, disney toys and dolls that I secretly prebought from Disney store and WalMart before our trip, rain ponchos, rechargeable batteries and the charger, tip envelopes for mousekeeping, my tour schedule for each park, zip loc bags of all sizes (large ones are good for storing wallet, phone, etc when on a water/wet ride- small ones are good for packing snacks and also for keeping a wet wash cloth handy to bring to parks (great for wiping sticky hands or sweaty faces!) crystal lite packets, bottles of gatorade...

We leave tomorrow and although I haven't started packing yet (:scared1:) I did start one of these boxes. :thumbsup2

I have glowsticks, purex sheets, quarters/pennies, paper goods, snacks, drinks, car dvd player, camera, shampoo/conditioner, soap. I can't remember what else is in there.

We keep the camper packed with our day to day necessities like toiletries and such. But I have started a “Disney Box” and in it are
- New clothes for the kids to wear on the trip
- Tinkerbell gifts for each kid/each day of our trip
- Light up toys from previous trips
- New sunglasses for all
- Misters
- Pins (purchased from ebay for a buck or 2 each)
- Passports I printed for the kids (instead of purchasing them at EPCOT)
- Photo Mats for the characters at our 2 breakfasts to sign – we are foregoing autograph books this trip and just having the dining characters sign a mat for each of the kids)
- Sharpies (to go along with the mats)
- Extra ponchos

My box isn't solely for Disney but summer in general though it has a lot of stuff in it for our trip in October.

Purex laundry sheets
Mister Fans
Mugs
Supplies for the kids' Magical Greetings boxes
Cars Swimsuit I bought for DS5
Sun Block
Samples of a bunch of toiletries
Stickers
Aloe
Autograph books and Lanyards
Cubs Ponchos

There is one thing I haven't seen on here. We get a lot samples of kids' magazines, puzzles, etc trying to get us to buy them. They are in there along with any of the little kids' packs that restaurants hand out but that my kids don't always use if they are busy. I put those in my bag to take TS dinners, they are already nice and compact.

So far I have

waterproof bags I made for wet bathing suits, wet ponchos, etc

I apologize in advance if this has already been addressed - I haven't gone through the whole thread yet.

How did you make your waterproof bags? What a great idea!

Subscribing so I can look back and read everyone's ideas. It is time to start our box. :woohoo:

For us, we make sure to pack sunscreen;
chapstick (with spf);
Zip loc baggies for our phones, wallets, tickets/keys, ponchos, camera;
Bag for carrying our stuff;
towels (for me as I need sweat rags) but I might just take a hand towel each day for my sweat rags;
ponchos;

I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

Just wanted to share a pic of our disney box that my kids help me decorate!! :thumbsup2

What an original idea! :thumbsup2

Do you get these laminated afterwards?

Hang on.. I think I misunderstand. I read "photo mats" but had a picture of "place mats" (ie for meals) in my head. What do you mean by photo mat?
