All this talk of parking annoyance, dog annoyance, speeding. If you developed a subdivision what would you like?

Community pool
Community lawn mowing: I love that our neighbors and I use the same service, the noise is one and done, and it looks great.
Maybe gated-not sure about that
No overnight street parking-have it, like it

We have a gated community here which raises the home prices. The only thing is the gate is always open (even though its electric) and doesn't go all the way around the perimeter of the community. If someone really wanted to get in, all they would have to do is go around the fence or wait for the gates to be left open.

Also have a community pool. It's nice, but rarely gets use from us. I've read that the red eyes you get from being in the pool isn't from the chlorine.... so that's the main reason.

But back to the original question, I would want no neighbors in sight for at least a couple square miles me. That would be the real utopia! ;)

Funny - my first thought was...no neighbors.

But then - why not have a neighborhood that was full of houses that looked like Mickey and Minnie's back in Toontown?

As Overlord - I would decide who could move in and when they had to move out. No leafblowers! No doorjunk (flyers, ads, etc). No motorcycles. No bugs, snakes, wild animals. No outdoor cats. No humidity over 50%. No temperature over 80. No temperature below 50. I guess I want a dome over it. Free cable - with no sports, spanish or shopping channels. Speedy internet. That's a start.

What is it about outdoor cats? I don't have a cat but a lot of people hate outdoor cats. Do they kill birds?

Oh I am in this game, lol.

10 acre properties, completely fenced with a deer fence. Since we are dreaming, I also want a tunnel from the house to a large secure bunker in case of zombie apocalypse.

Community clubhouse with kitchen and meeting rooms. Indoor & outdoor pool and gym. Paved nature trails. Large lake with boathouse, launching ramps and parking areas.

I despise outdoor cats because they don't, by nature, stay in their own yards. Which means, your mulched beds become a litterbox whether you like it or not. I've always had dogs, and when my son was young, we had houses with nice big yards so kids could play, and we always had invisible fences for our dogs around our entire property. But we also always had issues with cat poop in our beds, which my dogs seemed to think was the most delicious delicacy on the face off the earth. Let me tell you, cat poop treats do not make for delightful dog breath, lol!

Oh yuk! I have never seen a cat out in our neighborhood.

Dedicated subdivision just for my family, my sisters' families, my brother's family, and some of DH's family. Restricted access for everyone else. ;)

And the ability to kick that "one" BIL out when he's being annoying.

That's all I want!!!

And I should add that I love cats in general. I'm not a cat hater. I've had indoor cats. It's just that outdoor cats do what comes naturally, and they don't have an owner walking them on a leash with a poop pickup bag. If it wasn't for the fact that they can adopt your beds as their toilet, I wouldn't mind them.

I have cats. I love them. I keep them inside. The neighbors who let theirs roam dont seem to mind the screeching fights they get into with my cats through closed windows at 2 a.m., the peeing on my windows that they do, the fact that the lifespan of an oudoor cat is almost 10 years less than that of an inside one and that i almost ran over one of them last week. Terrible pet owners. And now let the hate rain down upon me.

My next door neighbor lets his cat out every night and lets him back in the next morning. Why?????

I am noticing a trend of needing lots and lots of space with no roaming cats lol. I would love a good 5 acres of ocean front myself between homes but there would also be a gas station just down the road for convenience of gas and milk and somehow city sewer and water with street lights.

Ample parking, and no community anything. I don't want to share things with my neighbors, in fact I'd be happy never ever seeing them.
