Your top 5 TS restaurants for unique atmosphere

I'm going to give you places with unique atmosphere *and* good food and service!:

Garden Grill
Coral Reef
San Angel Inn (lunch is better than dinner)
'50s Prime Time Cafe
Cinderella's Royal Table (I'd opt for lunch, again, over other meals)
Hoop Dee Doo Review
Artist Point
California Grill
Narcoosee's
Jiko

Coral Reef, SciFi, Ohana, WCC and BOMA just for the food itself. popcorn::

Boma
Crystal Palace
50's Prime Time Diner
Planet Hollywood (Downtown Disney)
Liberty Tree Tavern Character Dinner

My families top 5 are:

Sci Fi
Whispering Canyon
Ohana
California Grill
& Coral Reef

I can't wait to try the new restaurant in Epcot (Japan)!!

California Grill- Ever since I was little, I loved sitting there eating, and watching the fireworks from my table. It's been a tradition to go there every year since. This year, it was even cooler when I sat at the chef's table, and talked to all the chef's about working in Disney.

50's Prime Time Cafe- I'll never forget how astonished I was to sit down to eat, and have some waitress pretend to be my mom. It was adorable. Except, the last time we ate there, our waitress was just like any other waitress, and wasn't having fun with it at all.

Garden Grill- When I was little, I thought it was the coolest thing ever to be eating, while the floor was rotating.

Flying Fish- When I was 12, I went to the Flying Fish, and was just amazed as I watched the chef's cook. I stood there for most of the evening, just watching. And then, our waiter came over to me, and asked if I wanted to go back in the kitchen and meet the chef! So I went back in the kitchen, and the chef started to explain everything how everything worked. It was so cool. I sat at the chef's table this year, and got a free crab and lobster bisque. Both times I've been there, it's been pretty unforgettable.

Chefs de France- I absolutely love the French cuisine. And I also absolutely love the French language and accents. Enough said. Haha.

For us it is
O'Hana's food entertainment view
Sci Fi food atmosphere entertainment
50's prime time food atmosphere entertainment

For Atmosphere I would say:
50's Prime Time
Hoop Dee Doo
Biergarten
San Angel Inn

/
1. Coral Reef! Atmosphere and great food!! Teenagers favorite meal other than #2.
2. Cape May Cafe breakfast! Lots of variety, even for picky eaters. Plus, who wouldn't want to hang out with Minnie and Goofy? (We ate there back to back days!)
3. Crystal Palace. Nice place, and fun. The food is pretty good, but not exactly the best.
4. Rainforest Cafe. Love the atmosphere and the food! Never miss going there!
5. Yacht Club Galley. A nice place for a fancy meal. Maybe not the best choice for picky eaters, but I loved it.

The worst
50's Prime Time- YUCK!!! Don't get the root veg hash!!
Planet Hollywood-the food was over-rated, over-priced and blah. The bathroom made one of my teenagers motion sick with all that design!

Atmosphere is how we choose our restaurants!

We love:
Sci-Fi
Coral Reef
Biergarten
San Angel Inn
Cinderella's

There are some more on our list, but these might be our top 5.

Based just on atmosphere here are my top 5

San Angel Inn
Coral Reef
Sci-Fi Cafe
50's Prime Time
Whispering Canyon (Main Room)

This was a really good question for me, since when we go back in '08, I will be bringing family who has NEVER been to Disney. And although we need 6, five good unique TS's for someone who has never been there is a good place to start. So, I've done a little tallying (although it may be off, since it was done a few days ago and I may have missed some, or just not counted right) and it seems the top 6 are: SciFi, 50's, Coral Reef, CRT, Cali Grill and Boma. This at least gives me something to "chew" on. popcorn::

Our top 5 are:

Boma - unique food and atmosphere of the lodge

CP - The only place you can dine with Pooh and the Gang

Ohana - Nothing like this where I live and great fun for the kids

Whispering Canyon - Another fun experience for the family

Markareesh - great food but very ethnic for picky eaters, atmosphere over the top with the belly dancer and what not.

The San Angel Inn and Sci-Fi definately. I suppose you could add the Prime Time if it wasn't so awful. Kids love 'ohana with the Wishes fireworks in the backround. Garden Grille and Boma are good places as well.

I would love to see a Mos Eisley Cantina myself at MGM. Now that would be the coolest place ever to eat.

Purely based on atmosphere alone I have to agree with the posters above:

California Grill: the atmosphere is just one awesome element of a restaurant that has everything
Coral Reef: There really is nowhere else like it.
Garden Grill: The revolving restaurant, the characters, the ride...definitely unique at Disney.

My family hits these places EVERY TIME!

Kona Cafe (breakfast or dinner - both are TDF)
Ohana
Wispering Canyon Cafe
Yahctsmans Steakhouse
Rainforest Cafe

I forgot to type my other two...

Marrakesh: Fun, exciting atmosphere... really does look like something out of Africa. The food isn't all that exciting or unique, but the place is fun if a little cramped.

San Angel Inn: the dark but cool atmosphere really makes me feel like I'm in Mexico in the evening.

I have to disagree with the posters who recommend Rainforest... besides the food not being all that great, there are Rainforest Cafes all over the US now, so the experience isn't really unique. I think there are like 2-3 Rainforests within fairly close proximity to DC so I guess that's why I don't find them all that different.

Sci-Fi
Garden Grill
Liberty Tree Tavern
50's Prime Time Cafe
California Grill (beautiful view)

We like the food too!:)

How could I forget Whispering Canyon Cafe?!? That is one of our all time favorites and it is because of the experience. Definately at the top of my list for atmosphere.

Coral Reef/EPCOT
Le Cellier/CANADA
Brown Derby/MGM
Ohana's/PR
Teppan Edo/Japan

We stay away from:
Rainforest Cafe (too loud, to much junk for sale)
Mexico (too dark, too crowded, average food)
Norway (just don't eat that style food)

Happy eating!
