Just wondering what everyone thinks about the redesign of MDE since Genie was released this morning? Personally, I don't like that they toook away the My Plan summary page and now you have to change pages to see each day of your trip. I liked that you could see everything in one place. I haven't explored the whole thing yet, so maybe there is another way to see this.

It's still available on the my Disney expirence section on the website through a browser. But I agree I liked the snapshot.

Haven't tried the newest updates but some things about the old one I never liked. Certain obvious things you want to look at were buried in some obscure part of the app. It seemed like the people designing it had no idea how anyone would use the features and things were all jumbled around on sub-screens that weren't obvious. Maybe this new update will improve things.

I like it. Only had one little glitch where the wait times for AK weren’t showing for a little while after the park opened, but it worked itself out.
I also like the 50th logo.

Looks like wait times are not showing up on the map section right now but hopefully it’s just a launch glitch as wait times is still an option for the map drop down. Other than that I do like the new interface!

I don't like it. I did see that you could search and tried it out...
Search my plans and my second option was view my plans which brought up the old view, so that snap shot is still part of the app. Hopefully they bring back the shortcut

Completely agree. It's so helpful to be able to see the whole trip at once. Just a 'work around'....you can Search "My Plans" and the old screen will come up. I haven't found any other way to get to it though. I also wonder how long it will be available in that form.

Overall the app is too cluttered with junk that does not contribute to planning or navigating your park day, which is what I think should be the focus of the app.

Scrolling through the front page right now, I want Disney to remove:
Tell your Disney Story
The 50th Anniversary countdown
Walpaper downloads
Remy's Rat Adventure Ad
Capt. Crook Spotlight
Halloween playlists
Star Wars Galactic Star cruiser Ad
Rotating Ad board of MMRR, Black Spire Outpost, Disney Springs Ads
Haunted Mansion Trivia
Disney Park Stories
Disney+ Hallow-stream Ad
Shop Disney HAlloween click-through to the Disney Store Ad

Jez, no wonder it is so hard for some to plan when they have to navigate through all of this unnecessary click-bait.

In the app, you can search for "My Plans" and it will give you "View My Plans" Definitely not ideal, but there it is.

I just saw that someone already gave this answer!

THANK YOU!!

I will say this after being able to play around with it a little. I miss the my plans section. This seems to be a common theme from what I’m seeing on the boards and on social media.

I initially couldn't see the wait times when I first downloaded the app, but looks like they are now back up.

One thing I don't like is your can't plan a day/make an itinerary without linking tickets. I'm planning on going in December but haven't gotten tickets yet. I paid for and downloaded the Touring Plans app and have actually had a bit of fun making some potential itineraries. I would have liked to play around with Genie and see how those plans compare, but I guess Disney wants me to buy tickets first.

If I had to say something positive, the dining availability page looks like a big improvement. And I do kind of like the new icon, although it's not as eye catching as the blue square with the Mickey head.

I miss My Plans too. We have a split stay in January, and it took me a bit to figure out how to see the second one on the app. Finally figured out I could use the Tip Board and Change Day to our checkin day for that resort. Although I also got confused when the calendar only went to December 16 - then I realized it just grayed out the blockout dates for our APs and started back up in January.

It seems difficult to get to some of the pieces I use. I can't find where to do dining ADRs or modify them (except through my plan). Why isn't there a tile for Genie/Genie +? It just seems like the organization is clunky and not east to use.

I have mixed feelings, like with every tech interface redesign. I mocked up a plan for my first day of my April trip, and I like how it tells me how many days until I can make ADRs.

To be honest, I never really used the app aside from making FPs so the rest of the other functionality that may be missing isn't a deal breaker for me.

Just type “My plans” in search. You will see all of your plans.
