From a budget perspective it seems like dish network is the way to go. They are a little cheaper than our directv and they offer free hd for life. However we do not have an HD tv but we will when we buy our bedroom tv and then eventually upgrade of livingroom tv.

So, I know the service I get with directv for the cost and the price goes up from time to time but I am not sure how others like dish network... So, any advice on dish network budget and quality.

Thanks Disers! :)

We had Dish and didn't have problems with it. The prices were pretty comparable to us (at the time we switched).

We had dish for 3 years and have now had DirecTV for almost 2 years.

As soon as our contract is up in Sept 2012, we'll be getting rid of it all together and paying for Netflix and hulu plus... and save about $100/month. :-D

Once our DTV bill got to $100 we did the same.

We have had both...and we've done the cut 'em off and go with netflix thing. we are back with Dish. It is cheaper for us, there is no huge charge for HD, although we only have it on our "main" tv...we couldn't get in the bedroom :confused3, and Dish stays on better in a storm, for us anyway. Both in Irene and Isabelle, the dish outlasted the power! :happytv:

Thanks for your comment. I was wondering if it went out everytime the wind blows if you... Sometimes our Directv goes out in storms but that should be expected I guess. I was just wondering if Dish network did the same thing or if it was superior?

BTW what is hulu plus?
