Your Thoughts On Cinderella Castle

I was wondering, what do ya'll think about the new look they gave to Cinderella's Castle for the Happiest Celebration on Earth? I personally like the new castle because it brings the classics of Disney in a new and respectful way. I just didn't see a certain mouse and some of his closest friends (i.e., Donald, Goofy, etc.).. I'm wondering where they are. Nevertheless, I think they did really well for this 50th anniversary.

Haven't seen it in person yet--54 more days!!!!! But from the pictures, I think it's beautiful!!! Can't wait to see it when I get there so I can cry!!!

I also like it. The big mirror was a little intense the first time I saw it (in pictures) but I really like it now. I think it's beautiful and magical and not over the top! :)

I have only seen the pictures and I have not been impressed but I am leaving my opinion and my mind open until I see it in person in July.

I, too, have only seen it in pictures - but I like most of what I've seen. I'm not sure the golden figures add anything. Have to wait till I see it in person. I like it better than the pink that it was when we were last there in 2000. I don't remember what it looked like before that. I do like the addition of the gargoyles. (At least, I don't think they were there before.) It reminds me of buildings (mostly gothic cathedrals) that I saw in Europe.

From the pics, I love it!! I think long term it would be great, but minus the characters. I love all the gold added to the towers. The characters make it a little to silly and cartoonish, not quiet so magical. I will give you my live opinion in 3 days!!!

I'm the opposite. I like the characters added to it, but not the gold. I can't wait to see it in person!

I think it looks better in person than the pictures. The mirror sort of grows on you after you see it a few times.

It's much better then 97's birthday cake catstle. I think even in the pictures the mirror is growing on me. I can't wait to see it in Oct.

We saw it beginning in early Feb and think it's beautiful - love the gold characters !

For anyone who goes frequently (safetymom or mommytomjm ?) - can you tell me which character is just above and to the left of Kaa - looks in pics like it's standing on top of one of the spires. It's hard to make out from the pictures, but DNeph and I are thinking it looks like one of the ostriches from Fantasia (?).

We also love that they used some of the film classics - especially the flying Wendy and Peter (our favorites!) - can't wait to see it in person - and when they finally add Tink to the top !! :smooth:

I haven't seen it in person . . . yet!! When I first saw the pictures I thought it was GORGEOUS!!! Now that I have seen REAL pictures . . . I don't like the oval "mirror" on the front. I also don't think I like the characters on it?!? They should have added the gold and left it at that. I will have to see how I feel in May when I see it in person!! :cool1:

I haven't seen it in person yet but from the pictures I'm not really sure. I like the gold characters but I don't like the mirror. I think that it is just too big for the size of the castle. Maybe I will change my mind when I see it in person.

Haven't seen it in person but I always thought that the mirror was out of proportion with the rest of the castle. It looks too "added on".

Gold=Lovely
Characters=Indifferent
Mirror=Disproportionate

I was disappointed to see the mirror in the pictures and to find out that all my pictures of the castle would be "spoiled" by this Monstrosity(sp?) This will be my first time to see the castle "up close and personal" and I wish that they had not put the mirror there. I didn't know about it until it was up since Decoration wasn't mentioned on my plannin DVD. they didn't even mention crush'n'gusher though. :confused3

I won't see it in person until May but I have seen pictures. Looks okay but anything would be better than the pink monstrosity from a few years back, IMO.

I can't wait to see it in person! It looks nice from the pics I've seen. Anything is better than that horrible cake!

I love that castle so much, that I too can sit and look at it all day long!!! It is the most beautiful building in the world to me!!! :wizard:

Anyway, I wont see the newly decorated castle until April 16th, so I cant tell you what I think yet. From the pictures I like what I see so far. I like the gold accents and the twirly thingys!! I am not sure about the characters on it though, I will have to see that in person before I judge it.

But I will be totally honest with you, ANYTHING LOOKS BETTER THAN THAT PINK FLUFFY, COLORED CANDY MESS they had on that gorgeous castle for the birthday celebration! Oh man, that thing was DOWNRIGHT UGLY. Gave me a headache!! :sad2:
:confused3 WHAT WHERE THE IMAGINEERS THINKING????

When are they adding TINK to it? Will she be on there by April 16th?????????????

The mirror changes now too. It shows different Disney castles as you sit and watch it.
