Your thoughts on Biergarten?

I wanted us to try a new TS restaurant in Epcot this year and we have the DDxP. I made ADRs for Biergarten already, but after reading their menu last night I am not so sure anymore. I heard it was a fun place, but I don't like any of the "wursts," and the cold salads and that didn't sound much better. What are your thoughts on Biergarten and possible alternatives?

PS. I am going with my DS 8 and DS 7, and we are already eating at Akershush (yes they like princesses) and Coral Reef.

We went over Labor Day with 9, 5, & 1.

The food's not that bad. I mean I read the menu & thought the same thing, but when we got there I found enough stuff I did like to make 2 trips up. The kids ate typical kid stuff.

I think it's worth it for the decor and the show. They even let the kids dance around when they do the chicken dance. The wait staff is German. The beer was awful- stale and overpriced.

If you don't care for sausages, then I would skip Biergarten.

I liked the food there but the wursts are a big part of it.

You didn't say where else you've been, so I can't be sure if these would be "new" to you, but I recommend: Tutto italia and le Cellier as possible options for you.

We loved Biergarten! Yes, lots of "sausages" - but there was also roast chicken and roast pork and some kind of little roast beef bites. There were a couple different potato dishes and a potato soup. There was a lot to choose from and my 5 yr old ate more at this meal than any other meal.

This was an unplanned ADR for us on our most recent trip in Dec. We had an open day w/ no dinner ADRs, called last minute and got one here. We thought it would be a good place for our DDs to eat due to the entertainment I had read about. I don't eat sausages and actually found the food to be really good. Like PP said, they have chicken, pork, etc... The selection is good. The only thing I found disappointing was that the entertainment only performed for about 10 min. the entire time we were there.

I'm a vegetarian, so not only no sausages, no dead animals at all. I had a very nice meal at Biergarten.

There's more to German food than sausage and sauerkraut.

I don't care for sausages and I LOVE Biergarten. I like all of the pork dishes - schnitzle and roast - lots of the salads - the breads and the desserts.

Well, when we went there the wursts were the best part of the meal. The other stuff is okay but the wursts really are delicious. So that's why if I were to go again and I wasn't going to touch the wursts I think I would skip it. JMO

DH grew up on Germany and we were all looking forward to eating here, and it was ok, but I'd be hard pressed to get an ADR here again. The food was ok, but not our favorite.

I guess from the responses we will keep out ADR here. We have eaten at Marakesh (spelling?), Coral Reef, Akershus, and the TS Mexican restaurant as well before. Along with a lot of the CS. I would like to try le cellier, but I doubt that I would get an ADR now by the sounds of it. Also, I am not that into the Italian deal so I guess we have pretty much used up our options lol. It will be good for us to try something new I think. Thanks everyone for all of your input!

Biergarten is our favorite restaurant. We will be dining there again in May. DH is in the military and says the food at Biergarten is better than the German food he has had in Europe. This time I am going to book when the have the show.

I'm a VERY picky eater but enjoyed the food there. I remember having the chicken and the pretzel rolls are YUMMMMMMY. There are foods you will recognize there. My DH ventured and had the more German stuff, but not me.

Is there a show at lunch time also? We are looking forwrd to trying this also so I am interested in the reviews but we have a 130 reservation and I am not sure if there will be a show then.

Beirgarten is our favorite. Both DD & DS LOVE it. It is a must for us every trip.
Yes there is a show at lunchtime-its when we normally go-don't know what time though.
Give it a try, you will love it, there is much more than sausages and wursts'
:thumbsup2

I ate there with a group in Dec....almost canceled out because the menu just didn't appeal to me. But, I'm glad I went. I came out full, and had a very satisfactory meal. I was quite pleasantly surprised!!! Go and enjoy..you'll find something, many somethings in fact, that you can eat and enjoy!!

We love Biergarten! We went on our last trip and had so much fun! I am not a meat eater by any means, however, they had so much variety I did not have a problem. I really enjoyed it, oh and the beer was wonderful! Again, not a beer drinker but the one that our waiter recommended was great! Oh and the waiter was fabulous, he was really good with my DD who was 18 months at the time. She ran out and danced on the dance floor during the show and had a ball, we are planning on going there during our October trip! :cool1:

I think it is awesome, great yummy food, awesome music, dancing and atmosphere

We love the Biergarten!! It is so good. We liked it so much we went twice this past trip. It is also the atmosphere we love. Our kids loved the music and my 2 year old was dancing. It was really fun! I was also worried about the food but it turned out super well! :thumbsup2

The menu sounds great, but I'm concerned about what looks like community seating at long tables. Do they have smaller tables so I can eat by myself?

I love this restaurant! The community seating is a little awkward at first, but there's a lot going on, so you don't really mind it. The food is great, especially the desserts.
