Your thoughts on 2 TS in the same park/same day?

We arrive April 30/17 (for 6 nights) for our first ever trip to Disney with myself, my husband and dd's age 6 & 9. I think we've figured out where we would like to eat but I'm wondering what we should do about our last park day. We are doing a second day at MK but are planning to go to Sanaa for dinner. However, the day before we would like to do Tusker House for breakfast and spend the day at AK. Should we just do our last ts on that day too? Is is too much food? Or should we just leave MK late afternoon, go to our resort for a bit and then to Sanaa for dinner. We will have Park Hopper and DDP.

Edit to add: I know Sanaa isn't in AK but close enough. haha

Here's what our plan for our stay looks like right now. Suggestions always welcome!

Check in at AOA - Dinner at 1900 Park Fare

Hollywood Studios – Lunch or Dinner Sci-Fi Dine In

Magic Kingdom - Dinner at Crystal Palace

Epcot - Dinner at Garden Grill

Animal Kingdom - Breakfast at Tusker House

Magic Kingdom – Dinner at Sanaa

I would leave your plan as is with Sanaa on the last day. Do you actually plan on using the park hopper? It looks like you have meals planned for the park you are in that day, might save some $$ to drop the hop, just a suggestion.

I was actually thinking that but I have heard some people say that Hollywood Studios and Epcot are sometimes half day parks. Meaning that their children didn't enjoy them. I was worried that if the kids didn't like them we would stay just for the sake of staying when we could hop and go somewhere they would have more fun.

Also, someone said I might have difficulty getting ADR at my choices and might have to switch up nights requiring me to hop from the park we were at for the day to our reservation. But then I think if that was to happen I'd probably just try to get in somewhere else in the park we were in for the day. I couldn't see me leaving just to go eat.

Do you think it's better to just cancel the Park Hopper? We already have it booked but I'm sure I can cancel it.

You can always drop it now and add it at the parks if you decide you want to use it. If you are ready to book right at 180 days out, you shouldn't have a lot of trouble booking restaurants.

We (my adult son and I) are doing 2 TS a day in November. Some days 2 different parks. We are going to utilize TS and bus rides between 2 parks as our "break". Even thought my son and I can be big eaters, if we think it's too much food doing 2 TS, we plan to order appetizer and one meal to share.

For me, having hopper tickets are very convenient especially when booking ADR. It gives you flexibility and with WDW changing their park hours all the time, it was easier for me to switch ADRs around.

I've already have my FP+ so now it's harder to switch around but I've must have switched my ADR/plan about 20 times since by 180 days.

I think your plan looks pretty good. On our last family trip, we had an early breakfast at TH (8:00am) and then a late lunch at Sanaa (around 2:30pm). That timing worked out pretty well for us. We weren't on the DDP, though, so I only ordered the bread service at Sanaa and my DH ordered an entree. If we had been on the DDP, it probably would have been too much food for one day.

IMHO, I would drop the park hopper now and add it back on if need be. As the PP pointed out, you can even add it while you are in WDW, so you don't need to make the decision or spend the money now.

Also, if you think your daughters may get bored at DHS or EP, I would suggest making lunch ADR's at those parks instead of dinner. That way, say they get bored at DHS, you can have your Sci-Fi lunch, head over to Guest Services to upgrade to hoppers and then go to another park from there. You can then grab QS later in the day and not be stuck with a DHS dinner if your girls aren't enjoying the park.

As far as the Sanaa reservation, yes, I would switch to your AK day. I don't think it's too much to have TH breakfast and then Sanaa dinner. (If it were TH lunch AND Sanaa dinner, I would probably say don't do it!!) I, personally, would simply want to spend that last day soaking up as much MK as I could without the pressure of having to get to AKL for dinner.

Two TS in one day is doable, but you need to approach it as a relaxing day. You won't be able to enjoy your meals if you are rushing to pack as much as possible into one day. I did Tusker house for breakfast and Yak&Yeti for dinner once. It was a really good day, but by the end of dinner the kids were done and wanted to go back to the hotel for swimming. They were 7 and 5 at the time. It was one of the more memorable days we had that trip.

I am almost always in favor of eating close to to where you are spending your park/resort time so that you aren't wasting time traveling to ADRs all over WDW. Been there, done that. It is not fun for us.

And I really wouldn't enjoy 2 TS in one day with young kids. That is a lot of park time that is eaten up! (See what I did there? Pun intended!)

And I like to end my vacation on a high note in the parks, especially MK. It's a great way to say 'See Ya Real Soon'.

That is why I would scrap Sanaa (I know! I'm sure it is great and you REALLY want to go there!) in favor of 'Ohana, my favorite last night dining spot. Or Chef Mickey's. There are lots of people who complain about the food, but it so darn magical I never seem to mind that it's not 5 star. Or even 4. 3? It's a FANTASTIC value on the DDP and you would get to visit with the Fab 5 before your leave.

After dinner, you could hop back over to the MK for a bit, walk down Main Street one last time  and ride a favorite or two. Buy a treat at the Main Street Bakery. Catch Wishes and go back to the resort with happy feelings and some Mickey rice crispy treats to take home.

P.S. I still haven't found a way to add Sanaa to my line-up, but I'm sure I will. Maybe we will stay at AKL so it is more convenient.

I would move the Sanaa dinner to the first evening, and move 1900 Park Fare dinner to the last evening (since it is near Magic Kingdom, where you will be anyway).

Your girls are the right age for character meals, but that seems like a lot to me. When our kids were young we only did one per trip and really looked forward to it, and then as they grew up we only did Garden Grill because we liked the food - LOL! Oh, and Farmer Mickey in those overalls - so cute!

Our upcoming trip in February we are doing 2 TS in one day for "the first time in forever"...(sorry couldn't help it) :) I was able to get BOG at Park Opening for Breakfast on the 2nd day of our trip (1st full day) and I also was able to get CRT at 8pm for dinner since my youngest has never been. I am looking forward to it. :) Have a great trip.
