What would be your opinion on which resort to stay at for 4 adults and a 13 year old. There would be 2 sets of spouses and the one 13 yo.

Thanks

You have a couple options.
One of the Vacation Club Resorts (WL, SS, BC, OKW). They have accommodations that will sleep 12.
Get two connecting rooms at any of the resorts. They have family suites at the AS resorts. But now sure if this would work for so many adults.
Finally there are the Wilderness Homes at FW.

I would go with the 2 connecting room option so you'd have 2 bathrooms/showers.

depends how close you want to be Yatch club has rooms for 5. 2 queen bed with a flip down couch (more like a fouton matress).:confused3

Any deluxe resort will accommodate 5. Deluxes include Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk Inn. Also, a deluxe room at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

A two-bedroom DVC would be nice as it would give you two separate bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and two baths. Choices would be Boardwalk Villas, Beach Club Villas, Wilderness Lodge Villas, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs. You could also do a one-bedroom villa at the DVC property at AKL -- although I don't know when they open reservations to the public (ie. non-DVC owners) for booking there.

A deluxe room at the Boardwalk Inn would work -- three queen beds and includes club level concierge services -- food offerings, lounge, etc. Junior Suites at Wilderness Lodge sleep six and come with club level services. Also, junior suits at the Contemporary Resort would give you extra space and comfort. Of course, there are large multi-room suites at all deluxe resorts if you have the bucks ($1,000 per night for example)!

A family suite at All Star Music would work although one couple would have to sleep on a pull-out sofa, as would the 13-year-old. The Wilderness Cabins sleep six with one bathroom and a small kitchen area.

With two couples, you need to assess your comfort level on sharing both sleeping arrangements and bathroom space. If you're close relatives and that doesn't bother you, then I'd probably pick a deluxe resort or a DVC property (there are often good bargains to be had at Saratoga Springs and Old Key West these days).

Additionally, when considering options, consider a deluxe room for 5 on a club level. With that, you get a lounge where some people can go while others are dressing, etc. Early risers can go get breakfast while others sleep in, etc. You may find that one room at a deluxe on club level is cheaper than a two-bedroom DVC property and comes with nice amenities including the lounge space and food service several times a day.

Keep in mind that at the deluxes you'll be charged an extra $25 per night, per adult over the the first two in the room. So that's $50 plus tax on top of the room cost.

I'd look at getting two rooms in a moderate resort. That way you'll have two bathrooms and privacy, plus save $100 or more per night.
