Your seating experience when buying Airtran on SWA website

Hi everyone!

I'm about to buy an Airtran ticket from the SWA website. I clarified with SWA that SWA baggage policies apply BUT I can't do Early Bird Check-in. I have to be assigned a seat when I check in the for the flight. We are a family of 5 and I'm REALLY nervous that we'll be seperated. :crazy2: The website said you can select your seat on arrival at the airport but that kinda scares me. :scared: Anyone have any words of wisdom before I buy this? I'd appreciate any experiences you have- good, bad or ugly! TIA

Words of wisdom: decide if being seated together is more important to you than free checked luggage, or if free checked luggage is more important than being seated together. Since you can't be assured of both, purchase your tickets from the airline that meets your most important need.

We went for the seating together option and booked through AirTran. I just did not want to have scared and upset children. That is not the way I wanted to start my vacation.

Excellent point. In this case, I'm lucky b/c the SWA flight and the Airtran flights are the same price. The Airtran flight just gets in 40 minutes earlier. I love my Disney time but not enough to risk being seperated. I'm going with SWA and Early Bird Check In. I still won't have baggage fees and we'll be together. While it's tempting to sit alone, I'll be mindful of my fellow passengers and sit with my kids....LOL!
