Anyone else listening to this podcast about the May 1996 disappearance and suspected murder of Cal Poly Student, Kristin Smart? My husband graduated from Cal Poly the year Kristin disappeared and I am completely obsessed with this podcast and the circumstances of Kristin's disappearance. I can't get over all of the stupid mistakes and evidence that was blown off by law enforcement. They finally have arrested the suspect and his despicable father, but they still haven't been able to find Kristin's remains.

Kristin was a freshman and attended a party where she consumed alcohol - there is speculation she was also drugged by the suspect - so she was not lucid. She was walked by three other students - one female and two males. The female and one of the males broke away from the group leaving Kristin in the care of the other student who said he would get Kristin back to her dorm. She was never seen again.

If they convict this suspect, the podcaster/investigator deserves the reward money. He has done an amazing job uncovering the facts of this case.

I remember this poor girl's story and will listen on my next drive, is it a good series or do you just like this particular one? So weird that so many stories are about women, where on earth do they all go?

The whole series is about Kristin. I'm listening right now and it continues to blow my mind with the information Chris Lambert reveals.

I was unaware that there's a podcast. I remember seeing billboards throughout central California following her disappearance, especially around SLO when I went to visit a friend. Even when touring Cal Poly a few years later, there remained signs on campus.

Yes, Paul Flores, the only real suspect in the whole 25 years was finally arrested a few months ago. His father was also arrested as an accessory. The father is out on bail, but Paul is still in jail.

Even though there is an arrest, the podcast is still “must listen” information because of all of the information about the case and the suspect the caster uncovered.

Paul Flores was found GUILY of murdering Kristin Smart. I was so relieved, that I literally just started crying.

Sadly, his piece of trash father was found not guilty of accessory in hiding Kristin's body. I only hope Paul will FINALLY tell where Kristin's remains are and she can have a proper burial.

Chris Lambert, the podcaster behind "Your Own Backyard", is a hero. I truly believe this case would have NEVER gone to trial if it wasn't for his efforts and investigation.
