I posted on the Resort Board but have no input yet... I thought I would question here also...

We are going to WDW this year... (yay!!!)... but I digress... This is a two parter...
1. Right now we have our trip planned where we arrive the day after Thanksgiving (regular season) and leave on the 3rd... We are considering moving our trip where we arrive on the Sunday after Thanksgiving (value season) and leaving on the 5th... Which would you do? What would we miss by arriving 2 days later? It would save us $500+ to delay... Is the holiday activities on that Saturday worth it?
2. We have always stayed at WL... but we are planning on staying at Poly... will we be disappointed at Christmastime?
Thanks for all of your input!!

I agree, go later. If I recall from the posts here, it was very quiet for most of that week this year. Don't have an opinion on where you're staying as I've never stayed at Poly or WL. I would think WL, having a more 'northern' theme, might be a bit more Christmassy but I really have no idea. :)

That is the time that we have gone the last two years and it is a great time to go. If you have the option, you should probably skip the weekend after Thanksgiving, as it is still very crowded. This year we were there for that weekend, and it was, but we managed the crowds by doing some alternate activities. For example, on one of the weekend days instead of just hitting the park (s), take one of the many tours. This way you experience the park(s) but are kind of directed away from the big crowds. We took the KTTK tour on the Sunday after Thanksgiving and had a great time.
And for the second part....
We stayed at the Poly this year, and you still get a big dose of Holiday decoration. It was great.
Have a good trip.

This is what I would do. I would arrive the Sunday after Thanksgiving, taking advantage of the lower rates (no brainer!). The only thing you will be missing are the crowds, and lets face it... is that such a disappointment?

Have a great time!
