Okay so first off let me say

1.i played softball for my school last year.
2.and i'm still at the same school
3.we have a new coach

okay so those are the basic

well today was the cuts and well he cut me out and i don't understand why.
what do you guys think.i plan on talking to him tomorrow at school what do you think i should say,do,or how should i approach him.i'm really upset and i know how comforting you guys are so what do you think.i think its messed up.

He probably cut you out because other people did better than you... just a thought.

If you are honestly concerned I would either talk to him or email him and ask him what things you did poorly at and if he has any advice.

Ouch. Right after she said she knows how comforting we can be. xD

maybe if there were a lot of people trying out, he HAD to cut someone. He probably wanted to have you on the team but there were too many girls...Im sure you can talk to him and maybe work something out :) Hope he puts you on the team!! :thumbsup2

Talk to the coach...most coaches love it when you show that you are mature enough to talk to them.

Well, if this isnt your last year, ask him what I did wrong and how could I improve for next year so I can make the team. If he says he just needed to cut you because there were too many people then say thank you for your time and I will being working even harder next year so Ill be sure to make the team.. Something like that

Not if the relationship between main character and sister was complex, not your average sibling relationship. If it is to truly encompass the main character, I suggest that you flesh out the sister character thoroughly.

Make sure you aren't really angry/upset going in to talk to him. Sometimes your emotions take over in situations like that, and it's better to act professional. I know most of my professors won't allow us to talk to them about our grades right after they're released - we have to wait at least a day to chill out and truly think about the grade before approaching them. The same concept applies here.

To the OP:
You've really just to go in and calmly yet strongly ask what you can do to improve for next year. If you still wanted to be involved, ask him if there's anything you could do with the team.

I would go talk to him, but say something like "I was just wondering why I didn't make the team. Is there anything I could work to get better at so maybe I could make it next year?" Coaches want to help athletes, and even if you are not on the team, maybe he'll tell you what he's looking for so you know how to make it next year. (:

thanks guys but it's just i don't understand how i was on it last year and i'm not this year. You guys have great advice(:

That's how one of my professors is.

Talk to him after you've had a while to calm down.

okay so i talked to him today he said it was really close and he said the reason i didn't make it was because i was too slow so here's my plan

lose weight
train everyday
play on a summer league

so maybe i'll get better i wanna drop down to about 110 is that normal for a five foot three 14 year old?any suggestion on training

That weight for that height sounds good. Count your calories! (I use caloriecount.about.com) and exercise.

well im a very competitive softball player myself and i think that the coach will have more respect for you if you go and ask what you can do to improve. but, dont go up to him and whine and complain and dont think that just because you go up to him and talk to him that you'll be asked to join the team. so the best thing to do after that is go play your game and kick some butt and show that coach what he's missing:)
